Read this thread. You need 200 current jumps(as per the SIM recommendation). You can use these jumps to practice exits, tracking and deployment. Kris.

I did one last saturday. Did not want to mess with the stiches on my GTI so I stuck some glowsticks to the wings with some clear tape, needless to say these were gone soon after exit. I did have a strobelight mounted on the top of my helmet and people on the ground said that they could see me flying around from the ground. Has anyone used strobelights on the ground to indicate DZ location? I know it is not a big thing for regular night jumps but maybe helpful for birdman night jumps. Kris.

My GTI has orange wings with black ribs? The black is barely visible under normal light. It might be visible if the sun is behind it. If these ribs were crossbraced........... Kris.

0:10:0 Went to SDC for the weekend. Added a new bird to the flock(I loaned my Rig for this dude's first Birdman jump). Then did two 3-way and one 2-way flocks. Kris.

Update: 51 mph average is my best so far. Exit at 13300. Fully open canopy at 3300. On one of my jumps this weekend, I exited the aircraft at 11200 but the neptune only recorded a jump from 6200 to 3200. I have the latest version of the software on the neptune. what is going on? Is this the shutdown that vectorboy was talking about in another thread? Kris.

Not Bad!!!!! That is an average of 31 MPH assuming exactly 2 mins. Easily the best average speed that I have heard of(let alone in a classic). Congrats!! Kris.

Do you use a protrack??

If you go to 15K, dump at 3K and average ~52mph for the extra 1500' you can do 3 mins. Kris.

Actually I think we should also post the following info also. Height : 6'1" Weight : 178 lbs Exit Weight : 210 lbs Kris.

My best so far is 2 min 14secs from 13.9K to 3.3K(deployment complete) in my GTI(~25 jumps, total WS jumps ~85). This is not any better than what I was getting on a classic II. My aim for the GTI is 2:30 for a drop of 10,500 ft. If I can do that consistently, I will start flying the S3. I am doing tracking dives this weekend and getting coaching. Kris. I recently got my eTrex vista and the Mapsource Software. My question is...where do you wear the GPS unit. Does the software tell you the Glide ratio etc?? Kris.
