  1. If it's the military that wants you out you may get them to pay to move and build you a new operation. There is precedence for this with Skydive Arizona. Chris Skydive Houston
  2. Pilot 124 Stiletto 120 Stiletto 135 Chris
  3. Stuart I had this several yars ago and I mean good. My legs hurt so bad down the sides it was hard to jump. I found a good Chiropractor. It took thirteen sessions with heat and electrical stimulation and the strectching table but him and his staff fixed it. I had facet syndrome between L4 and L5 and it was pinching on a nerve. One he got those stetched out a my pains went away. I occasionally go back for some follow up and I'm fine. Also make sure you do some stretching exercises for your lower back. A good Chiropractor or Orthopedic Doctor can give you a list of these exercises. Chirs
  4. Suits me fine John. With the Bush team in power I get to retire Sept. 30th and get to double dip working for the contractor that's taking over my job. Have to move to Ft. Worth next April though. Chris
  5. She's been a bitch here in Houston for months now. I think she's in love with Radar The Wonderdog. (the shaggy dog on Local Channel 2 Weather)

    Weathermen

Hey Aggie Dave They had THREE forecast scenerios for the Jacksonville area during PIA and THE WORST one of the three turned out to be the accurate one. The shaggy dog (Radar) needs to get his act together and give us in Texas some good weather for a change.
  7. The weather has sucked in Texas for the past two months or ever since they had Radar The Wonderdog doing the forecast. Watch will have good weather next weekend when I have to work. Looks like you folks in Atlanta are thawing out. Chris
  8. Saw George Lopez at The Improv at Addison a couple of years ago. Crakked up laughing he was funny. Chris
  9. And we saw the videos today of the Iraqi people voting. The Iraqi people are very well educated and do want a better life after Saddam. The insurgents as it turns out are actually people trained by Saddam before the invasion. The hard intellegence is coming in on this. The Iraqi people are not going to let this stand in their way of freedom and democracy. Just as the Berlin wall fell, the domino's are going to fall in the Middle East. Chris
  10. It was reported that Dr. Dobson got the organization that produced this video and guide mixed up with a pro-gay organization with a similar name. Probably he did a website search and stumble on the wrong website and drew his conclusions. Even Nile Rogers who produced the video called him on this one.
  11. John, Now were learning through hard intellegence who the REAL INSURGENTS are. They were trained by Saddam months before our invasion to free the Iraqi people. They merely hooked up with this Zarquawi character. We'll they're loosers and their loosing. The Iraqi people showed that today. Our course is right in Iraq and the Iraqi people are well educated and given the chance with our help they are going to make the right choice for democracy. We need to have the resolve to stay the course. Chris
  12. Whats really coming down now from hard intel is that these insurgents and suicide bombers who don't want the Iraqi people to have a free choice in how they are governed etc are actually people that were trained by Saddam Insane before the invasion, The thing that this election shows is that these waistoids are losing. The Iraqi people are intellegent and well educated and after living under a brutal dictator like Saddam they are happy with our help to bring their country into a democracy. Chris
  13. Tonto Check Your Dropzone.com email. I sent You Mike Gruwell's PIA Power Point Presentation on the Mirage Packing Tips. Hope this helps you and your rigger. It is a large file 1.2MB. Maybe you can copy it and play it on a computer that has Microsoft Power Point if you don't have it installed on yours. Chris Skydive Houston
  14. Thw slider bumper needs to be moved up about 1/8 inch up off the risers. This allows the top of the bumper to flex with the lines and reduces the chance of line wear. In other words when assembling the canopy on the risers DO NOT pull the slider bumper down over the links and part of the risers. Leave a little of the link showing at the bottom where it connects on to the risers. Thanks to Scott Miller from PD bringing this up at the main canopy inspection and packing seminar at PIA Hope this helps. Chris
  15. I liked all the displays and thought that after PD and The Relative Workshop, that Larsen and Brusgaard had one of the best displays. I also have to say that the seminars were very informative, especially Brian Germain's and Scott Miller's. I learned some neat tricks from Scott on packing and inspecting my main canopy. Brian and Scott also gave me some final approach flying tips to correct some things I was doing wrong. Just a little minor thing but I think applying these tips is going to make my canopy flight much smoother. I just want to thank everyone involved for making this Convention what it was. Chris
  16. I attended the PIA Convention and the Altitrack will sell for about $299. They also will introduce Jump Track 3 software that will have interfaces for both Protrack and Altitrack and a host of other real neat features such as syncronizing your jump video with the Protrack, Altitrack speed graph, a better Gear Track program etc. I was informed that this cool stuff is coming out within the next six months. I have to say this Stefan and the others from Larsen and Brusgaard were very helpful and answered all of my questions and those of other jumpers and had a real professional display. I actually can't wait for the next-gen JumpTrack software and the AltiTrack. I might add that the new JumpTrack3 software is fully backward and forward compatible and is a real improvement with more features, better toolbars etc. I think you folks will also really like the AltiTrack also. Chris
  17. Just to give you folks an update: I just flew to PIA with my rig. I had no problems at Houston Hobby and the only thing that really happened when I was leaving Jacksonville, FL last evening was that the TSA wanted to re-run the rig back through the X-Ray machine in one of those grey trays separate from my kitbag with all of it's other contents. Clearly in line with the TSA guidelines as published on their website. I just made asked that the TSA guy not grab anything metal on the rig and he complied without much a fuss. They finally just did a Eds wipedown of the rig and it passed. I put it back in my kitbag and went to my gate. Seems that the reserve pilot chute spring sets these guys off more than the Cypres. They think it looks like a detonator. Most of the TSA guys are familiar with the rigs though. The TSA guy told me they had two come through earlier. I guess my Mirage just looked a little different somehow. Rigs with pop-tops (Racer) or a similar arrangement such as a Wings or Javelin you folks might have an easier time explaining the reserve pilot chute. All-in All not a bad trip but the weather in Jacksonville was not jumpable any of the four days. It was just too cold and windy. Chris
  18. Set your Privacy Level in the Tools Menu to Low just for this download. Also it sometimes makes it easier if you have Adobe Acrobat Open first. That worked for me. After I was finished I went back into the Privacy tab and set it back to Medium. Chris
  19. It is the same concert but acted out live which really had my and the rest of the audiences attention. Pamela Moore was back playing Mary and in addition they had actors and actresses playing Nikki and others in the original script. I just wish they could have had a live version of the diabolical Doctor X, could have made the set a little more sinister than the video. Chris
  20. It's the Mindcrime set updated and acted out. The same script but more of a live thing They used some real actors playing the parts of Nikki and others. I think Pamela Moore was also back playing the part of Mary. The show was very good and was a different take on the Mindchrime set than the one I saw on the Empire Tour with Suicidal Tendancies. The actors had my mind wondering what they were going to do next. It really had my attention Chris I really enjoyed it. The video was updated and kind of hammered GW a little bit. Chris
  21. They use both videos an updated one and parts of the 80's and 90's video. The set is more acted out like theatre than relying on all the video stuff and is much more entertaining. ( Rock Opera) I think you'll like it. Our show just hinted at the new CD with one of the new songs playing after the show was over. I just don't want to spoil it for you by telling you to much. Enjoy it, I did. Chris
  22. I saw this set during the MLB playoffs here in Houston. You will really like the Mindcrime set. I won't tell you a thing about it so you'll enjoy it. The Mindcrime II CD will be released on January 19th. Chris
  23. GRU I think a Katana would be too much of a big step for you as others said. I weigh about 180 out the door and am presently jumping a Aerodyne Research Pilot124 canopy. I have jumped and own a Stiletto120 and 135 and have jumped a Sabre150 and 135. I demoed this Pilot at the WFFC last summer along with some other canopies including the Nitron etc. All the canopies I demoed were pretty good. The Pilot was available for a good price and I bought it. Now for the canopy's characteristics. It opens easy and on heading for me. It turns just as fast as my Stiletto 120 and landings for me are pretty much like a aircraft traffic pattern cause I was never into anything fancy. The glide is a little flatter than my Stiletto 120. The canopy has more toggle range and it took a littler getting used to but it does one thing better than the Stiletto especially in no-wind conditions. It STOPS. The Pilot doesn't give me that pitchover on final approach like my Stiletto 120 ocassionally does. In summation, I like all my Canopies both Stilettos and my Pilot but I find my Pilot gives me just about the same performance as my Stiletto 120 but is easier to fly. Chris
  24. Here is the link for you all. I work with this all the time. You just type in the 4 letter (icao) identifier for the closest airport that reports weather and you can get the readouts. There is a graphic with the temp and dewpoint soundings and it is put in a simpler form at the bottom of the graph. This data is usual available every hour. I use it for briefing our balloon pilots and I also use it for our military pilots for their low-level routes. I have also taken it to the DZ and showed the DZ how to access it on the web.
