  1. The best way to keep skydiving is to know you can pay for it. Can't pay for it without a job. Skydiving may seem like Life, but for even many a passionate and active jumper, it is an addition to other responsibilities we have in our lives. Family, job, friends. Keep it in perspective - the career can support you in many dreams and endeavors, including skydiving. Plus it sounds like that little voice is telling you that serving is a dream that you've had longer than skydiving... Good luck with your academy training! That's quite a big deal to be accepted. ________________________________________
  2. I even sent a PM. No word... ________________________________________
  3. Glad you're (mostly) OK, Remi! We have a friend here in NC who can't jump anymore due to loosing toggles at flair on a high-performance landing. He was doing double-front straight-in approachs and had two fingers in the toggles - one slipped right out. He didn't realize it when he went to flair. I was in the air above my hubby when a similar thing happened to him, only he knew before the flair, so he just didn't. (No time for rears - he went straight to protect mode) His fingers were all in the toggles, but he didn't keep any locked on the toggles as he released the fronts. He PLF'd at impact and had only bruises and a thigh blow-out on his jumpsuit. Good luck in your bang 'em up healing, and with your new technique work!! Pam ________________________________________
  4. I have one, and use it some, although it seems that today, most registrations have a sort of "insert resume here" format, where they ask for your largest, latest dock, tunnel time, currency, etc. etc. I guess I use it for reference as much as anything these days... ________________________________________

  9. Hey y'all!! Latest addition to JFTC goodies for the 4th: T-Shirts!!!! I have a very limited supply of screenprint guy shirts - 1 style. I have 3 styles in very limited supply/sizes for gals - they are so cool!! A tank, a baby-doll, and a nice, almost dressy short sleaved one. They are emroidered, not screened. If I don't have your size in the style you want, I will special order it for you. No offense dudes, but the ladies shirts are the bomb, so I have more of them

  24. You can either have your "relocating effective XYZ date" in your letter, or: if it's gonna be a few or several weeks, visit the new place, get a PO box, and have it forwarded to you at your existing location. Go change your cell phone so it's local to your new area. Request 2 days or whatever notice for interviews. The address makes it appear you live there, and most people will call or email anyway. Those are my "former recruiter" tips, anyway! Good luck!!
