  1. It's hard to sit there looking at them THE WHOLE TIME! That jumping out right at the beginning especially. Then they do this squaredancing thing over and over and then pull their strings and land. Ach. Oh god, and then the bitching! "What do you mean the camera wasn't turned on?" "You tumbled off the plane and missed the first square dance thing!" "Hey you gotta download the video at the window place where the judgementals are!" Wah! Fixed that first line for ya! God, I can hear your 2005 rant already "Hey, you losers, where's my thong!??!?!?" Sheesh. How soon the videoslutgraphers forget. ________________________________________

    Life

I think you have not only answered your own concerns, you are fully aware of the gifts this selfish sport has somehow lovingly given you - the gift of a huge circle of friends who get it - and understand you. It doesn't get any easier to suffer loss, but the more people you know, the more you learn, the more you receive, and the more you are capable to give. The down side is you know so many more people, you are doomed to see more of them leave. Arlo makes a point that is wasn't about skydiving - it wasn't. But Skydiving is what allowed you the privilage to have known her. It's important to know the difference, and many outside of our jumping family can't see it. Their loss, in that case. They are missing really good shit. Hugs to ya, girlie... Pam ________________________________________
  10. This past weekend CSpence and Mouth came to Raeford, NC for the Carolina Skydiving League Meet representing RoamingDZ.com. A check was presented to Fox Force 4 for Jump for the Cause from donations collected at the Dublin Boogie (I understand there are still shirts available!). Fox Force 4 will fly in memory of Philonese Alford through the Flying Angels program at JFTC in recognition of this donation. We are so very honored to have accepted this contribution to JFTC from the skydiving community, to honor one of our own. Thanks Chris, Lisa and all of you nutty DZ.commers that helped raise this money at the Boogie. Especially the ones that put Chris in the drink. Big Foxy, Purple, Lavender-Laced and Peach Moonshine-breathed hugs

    SUSHI

I'm in Baton Rouge this week - I have NO idea where to get sushi, but I'm craving it now. Thanks. I love most all of it, but can't get past the chewy oowie of octopus, and the quail egg scares me. I love rolls, but don't care too much for the smoked salmon ones or crunchy ones - too sweet!! Give me the raw, simple goodies! OK, in case no one got the hint, any one know where I should go in BR for sushi??!!! HELP!!!!! ________________________________________
  15. And the liquor store nearby!! Not only do I lack pull with the weather Gods, I lack pull at work, which is why I won't be at the Boogie. Have a review tomorrow AM, and leave Sunday am for Baton Rouge... I'll see ya at Raeford though, girlie-o!! ________________________________________
  16. Wow - it must be really flapping in the wind, there, dude - that's some "Glamour Don't" bar you've got on that thang! ________________________________________
  17. TFR active from 11:35 to 3:20 on Friday does include 9A6 Chester Municipal Airport 30.6 NM from center. Better get those early jumps out of the way, then have a nice lunch, then report back at 3. Prohibited activities include parachute operations. ________________________________________
  18. Airspace restrictions rarely last long - if it happens, it shouldn't affect all day - they are usually 2-4 hours tops. I'll update if AOPA sends a notice out later today. Edit to add: NOTAM for presidential TFR posted - 4 parts, various 10-30 NM radius up to FL 180, 1135 local to 1520 local. Parachuting prohibited. Affected airports and graphic not yet availalbe... He's visiting a plant west of Charlotte, almost due north of Chester. I'll edit again later to add more. ________________________________________
  19. Ditto. I've never used a cannula however. Your comments re observable effects, cheapo facemask vice booger kebob, are welcome and will be appreciated, a separate post on this comparison might be helpful. .02 When I jump with my frap hat, I use the nose canula, and it works great. It's easy to slide off at climb-out, and the frap hat is perfectly comfortable on the ride to altitude. With my full face, I cinch it down and close the face shield and stick the O2 tube inside. It basically makes a full-face mask of the deal, and also works great and is equally easy at climb-out. I've not noticed any difference in efficacy - I've been happily oxygenated both of these ways. The full-face, however, seems better for preventing - or at least delaying - the dry-throat and sinus irritation caused by the dry O2 air. Since that can be very helpful at multi-day events, I've started using that as my default set-up. ________________________________________
  20. I click on the thumbnail from the album page and it goes to the detail page, the thumbnail is fine on that page, I get a then your logo appears in the larger area on the screen instead of the photo. Same thing happens for "bigger view" - I get the cute sound, then your logo, then "loading" goes on forever. ________________________________________

  22. Maybe she'll even unclench her fists! But, hey, ya nevah know. I didn't get hooked until my 2nd jump. I only did my 2nd because 2 girlfriends wanted to make their first. NOW look what that created! I will admit, though, I loved my first jump, I just figured that was the only one I'd make. ________________________________________
