  1. I was 50. Did a tandem to celebrate my birthday. That was 4 years ago. Didn't plan to get hooked, it just happened. I sucked at golf which is kind of why I took up skydiving, I didn't suck as much at skydiving. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  2. My husband and I have good friends who have a Harley and are pushing us to get one. He rides it and she rides on the back. I am all for getting Harleys, but I want my own, don't want to ride on the back of my husbands. We are going to take a motorcycle riding class (we've both ridden motorcycles, but not for years), then decide on what we want to get. Any suggestions? 3. Hey Jef, long time no talk. Did you ever read Genesis (in the bible)? That is how we got here. You know I am a Christian because I couldn't do certain things with you cuz I'd go to hell . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  4. SHIT!!!! I can't believe I missed again! I even had a place lined up to stay - friends in Whitefish. But I didn't realize when it was. I rarely get on DZ.com anymore cuz it's blocked from work and our home computer is down half the time now that my computer genius son is in Texas and not here to fix it. Next year for sure! 5. I'll be on a Mexican Riveria cruise in November and am wondering if there is a DZ in Acapulco, Puerta Varreta, Cabo or Ixtapa that permits experienced skydivers to jump. I know that some places have DZ's but only do tandems. If you have any info I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks
  6. I rarely get on dz.com anymore since it's blocked at work and usually no time at home. But I had the opportunity to get on tonight and saw this thread and felt compelled to respond. I jump at Elsinore mostly, but sometimes train with my team in the Perris tunnel. BUT I have an alligience to the Vegas tunnel. When I was an AFF student I got stuck on my level 4. We didn't have the tunnel at Perris then. The nearest tunnel was Vegas. So I called them and arranged to do coaching. Not only was Keith very accomodating (he called to tell me the A/C was broken and they might be closed when I came, but agreed to come in to train me even if they weren't open to the public). Keith was very competant and kind and not only did he train me so that I was able to pass my level 4, he kept in touch with me by e-mail and was my cheer leader for the rest of my AFF. Don't think I could have done it without him. I came back to the Vegas tunnel later wanting to learn to sit fly. Great place to learn to sit fly cuz you have to stay in the middle. Anyway, just wanted to say that although the Vegas tunnel isn't Perris, it's still a great place to go. And Keith and staff are awesome! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  7. That's awesome Lori. I haven't been to Perris in ages just because my team is at Elsinore. I definately have to get there on one of my offf team training days. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  8. Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! Keep jumpin and enjoying life! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  9. I would normally be training with my team and have lots of jumps, but I was on vacation, a cruise from San Francisco to Vancouver. Our first stop was Monterey (yeah, it went backwards then turned around) and I had a great jump at Montery Bay Skydiving. They have a souped up King Air that gets you to altitude in 6 min. and not the usual 13000, but 16000. Great jump!!! Great peeps. Great DZ. I'd jump there again. 10. I have a 2003 Prius (and a Vette for fun) and my husband has a 2006 Prius. We're not green, just like the diamond lane stickers and the great gas mileage. I know we got a $3,000 tax credit for the 2006 Prius, but I'm not sure about the extended warranty. I will ask my husband, he is a car broker so I think he will know. 11. I didn't read all the replays (too many) but wanted to tell you my friend that you must keep posting. It wouldn't be the same around here without you, Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  12. I have to stick up for my friend Cocheese. He may come across as a sex starved maniac, but that is just his screen theme. In real life he is a very warm, sensative, great person. He would probably hate me for telling you that but it is true. I love Jeff for the great person he is and the friendship we have. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  13. LOL. We have an exercise bike that has become a clothes rack. When I don't go to the gym and want to use the bike I have to remove all the clothes first. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  14. July it is. Lost Prarie. Yay......!!!!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  15. Hey, at least you made it there. Go with some other machines and come back to the ones you want. Once you get to the gym there is no excuse not to work out - at least in my opinion. Good luck!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  16. I go to the gym every day. That's just my routine. But if something comes up where I can't go, I go with it. Today it was no parking. I drove around 3 times before saying screw it, i'll just go home and work out on my bike and free weights. But I didn't do that. I came home and had a glass of wine and started posting on dz.com. So that is my excuse today. What's yours?? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  17. And you're wondering why I haven't come to visit???? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  18. Wow, you've done your homework. I really don't care about gas milage, cost, etc. I just love being able to use the diamond lane, makes my commute much shorter. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  19. I paid only $15,000 for my used Prius (20,00 miles). It was worth it for me to have the diamond lane stickers so I can use the car pool lane for my commute. My husband paid $28,000 for his 2006 Prius, but he gets a $3,000 rebate on taxes. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  20. Not so scary. The ocean is there, but you don't land on the beach. You don't even see the beach from the DZ. And the landing area is a really big grassy area. The only thing is winds, they tend to get stronger in the afternoon so you'd probably want to jump in the morning. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  21. Hey, have a great time in Hawaii. I was just there last month and had a great time. If you are going to jump there the people at Skydive Hawaii at Dillingham Airport in Oahu are really nice. That is the only place you can jump in Hawaii without doing a tandem. They do a lot of tandems but will get up jumpers on a load as soon as possible. There are instructors there who are from Cali; everyone was really friendly. Have FUN!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  22. Totally normal. I couldn't sleep, eat, etc. before an AFF jump. I couldn't even conceive of doing more than one jump a day. It gets easier. Good luck! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  23. I LOVE hybrid cars. My husband and I both have Toyota Prius cars. What I love most about the Prius is the diamond lane stickers. I have a long commute to work, but with the diamond lane my commute is much easier. The 40+ mpg is nice too. Some people think we've gone green since we own two hybrid cars, but the RV and my Vette kind of cancel that out . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
