  1. I took the CC course at Perris with Clint Clawson in Janaury. Clint was great. Lots of ground instruction before jumps and debreifing of the videos of our jumps afterwards. Clint even helped us with our exits. I learned so much, and was able to downsize after the class. My landings are still not always great, but have improved a lot. I would highly recommend the class. 2. I was one of the three people in the back of the truck and witnessed the whole thing first hand. The asshole on the motorcycle ran into the truck then jumped up and started yelling at Tim that he'd messed with the wrong person and he was going down, all kinds of threats. Tim was very calm, didn't raise his voice, just told the guy he had commited a federal offense and called security. Tim is great about watching for skydivers and being right there with the truck on a bad spot or even from the student landing area. I really appreciate all the rides I've gotten from him. The one on Saturday just happened to be a little more exciting than usual. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

    1st Cruise

I think it will be easier for me to spot you because I will be with an old, fat , bald guy, which judging by my past cruise experiences describes a large portion of the cruise population. LOL If I am at the pool though I will probably be with my daughter. She's got shoulder lenght blond hair on top and brown hair on the bottom and a flower tatoo on her lower back. I'm a few inches taller than my daughter and have chin length brown hair. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

    1st Cruise

GET OUT!!! I'm sailing May 2-9, too! I'll be on the Lido deck. Our room is the first one next to the SkyBar and SkyPool. NO WAY!! That is so cool!! I'd love to get together some time during the cruise. I don't yet know our room or deck, I think we find out when we check in. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

    1st Cruise

When are you going? I will be sailing on Carnival's Conquest on May 2nd. They have tours that you can book on the ship so when you get to port you'll already have your plans made and know what you are doing. It's good to book them early because sometimes they fill up. I LOVE cruises!! Soooo relaxing. ENJOY!!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  6. My ears will start to plug up after my first jump and by the end of the day will be completely plugged. Now I take Sudafed (non-drowsy kind) and it pretty much eliminates the ear plugging. They might be a little plugged by the end of the day, but not too bad. I take it as soon as I wake up and continue taking it throughout the day. I've talked to several other skydivers who swear by it (that's how I found out). Hope this helps. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  7. Thanks for the info. MJ had told me he would be having another camp the 24th or 25th, but at the time he wasn't sure which day. So glad to hear it is the 24th since I already have plans on the 25th and I'd hate to miss it again! I missed the last two due to prior commitments, but I really want to attend. I was jumping with Pam's camp on 3/27 and saw MJ's group and it looked like they were having a great time. A couple weeks ago I jumped with Steve S. and was really impressed with his skills (less jumps than me but much better skills). He was telling me how he'd really improved thanks to MJ's camp. Sounds like just what I need. I will definitely be there the 24th!! Evelyn Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  8. From what I've heard you are fair game from the time you do your 100th until after you've done 101. So if you don't want to get pie'd don't say anything until after jump 101. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  9. Thanks Brett. I'll check it out.Quote Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  10. I'm trying to find out if there is a DZ in Paso Robles. I go there often to visit relatives. My hubby plays golf while we are there, and said to me when we were there last weekend "too bad there isn't a DZ close by or you could be jumping while I'm playing golf." Great idea! So I'm wondering if there is a DZ in or near Paso Robles. I've asked my relatives and their friends but since they aren't skydivers they didn't know. Someone told me they thought that there used to be a DZ, but that it closed. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

    The Flu

My son got the flu and ended up in the hospital for two days with pneumonia. I think part of why he got so sick is because he had been pulling all nighters cramming for finals, living on sodas and junk food. He doesn't live at home so mom isn't able to monitor his eating/sleeping habits. He got out of the hospital today and is recouperating at home where I can keep an eye on him and make sure he does what he's supposed to do get well. 12. I had ALWAYS wanted to jump for as long as I can remember. Finally did a tandem to celebrate my 50th in January. Knew I had to do it again so talked my hubby into celebrating our 25th anniversary by doing tandems, except that a week before the scheduled date he changed his mind, so I did my first AFF instead. Realized I couldn't just wait for special occasions to jump. Went through AFF, got my A license and now I jump every weekend. I cannot imagine life without skydiving. I wish I had started years ago! 13. Did anyone else see the stunt plane that was out at Perris on Saturday? It was pretty amazing, really fun to watch. Scared the crap out of me though the first time it came out because I had just landed and was walking in when I heard a plane and looked up to see this plane flying really low and headed straight towards me (at least that was how it looked to me). Anyway, just wondered if anyone else saw it or knew anything about it. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  14. Hi all, I'm new to the sport and to the forums. I graduated from Jim Wallace Skydiving School in Perris, CA last month and am working towards my license (22 jumps - almost there). Everyone I've met at the Perris DZ has been very friendly and helpful, especially since I got off student status and started doing solo jumps. I'm looking forward to meeting more friendly, helpful people at Dropzone.com. I've discovered that skydiving is not just a sport, but a way of life. I can't think of a better way to spend my life!
