  1. I definitely want to be cremated and my ashes scattered in an ash dive. My husband and I joke that if he goes first he will be making his first skydive (ash dive) but I promised him it would be over a golf course . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  2. I don't even like beer, but I will drink a Corona with lime on occasion. I can make one beer last an entire evening, but if I drink wine I can down a whole bottle sometimes . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  3. We just got our 4-way RW team together. Have only jumped a couple times with everyone there. Before forming the team I did a lot of jumps with one of my teammates. The jumps all went well, and he would give me a big hug and tell me how excited he was with our jumps. Then we formed the team and the jumps weren't going real well (according to our coach that is to be expected for a first time team). But this teammate who was praising me before, was now making me feel like it was my fault the skydives weren't going well. I expressed my concern to our coach who said it wasn't just me, that we were all drifting out, she called it "breathing". But this one teammate is making me feel really bad. I'm hoping that with my training jumps with Airspeed at Eloy and tunnel time I'll be a better skydiver when we train tomorrow. But how do you deal with someone who loves you when you're doing well and gets frustrated with you when you aren't? My other teammates are layed back and fine with whatever happens. 4. You obviously weren't sleeping with him (not with him, in the same team room). He and Gru were hysterical. I'd go to sleep but then wake up listening to their hysteriacally funny stories, and Gru always had it on his laptop to show you stuff. They were too funny . I love those guys
  5. In defense of Brandon, he was an awesome roommate, and a great horney gorilla partner. He didn't get me drunk and nekid, but what the heck, maybe next time
  6. You've got it. I'm excited. This could work
  7. I live in Los Angeles and kind of know some people in the industry. I'll suggest it and split the proceeds with you if it goes . Don't know why it wouldn't work, much better than the current shows IMO.
  8. I agree Lisa. I think they should have a show entitled "jumping with the stars" and they could have a variety of people making jumps with high profile jumpers. Compete to see who is the best skydiver at the end of the series. I think that would be much more entertaining . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  9. I don't really have a recipe, just make it, but here it what I do. Get some beef (I will either cut up a steak or just use pre cut up beef if I'm in a hurry) Brown the beef along with a chopped up onion and then put them in a crock pot or a pot on the stove Add some canned chopped tomatoe and tomatoe sauce Add a can of chopped green chiles (or you can use fresh and roast them and chop them) Add chilie powder and cayenne pepper If you want beans add either chilie beans or whatever kind of beans you want Let cook for a few hours I serve it with shredded chedddar cheese, chopped onion, sour cream and corn bread Good luck. Enjoy
  10. I had Tom Petty's Freefallin for my tandem video so whenever I hear it it brings back memories of my first skydive. On one of my student videos they put the Dangerzone song from the soundtrack of Top Gun and that was pretty cool for a skydiving video. I go to Itunes and preview songs before I down load them to my Ipod. They have a pretty good selection. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  11. Okay, I'll jump in. Yes, I was there. 5 days, 20 jumps (including a balloon jump with Skylord and JudyJ, a high altitude jump - yes, the first load without oxygen, a jump from the DC-3, my first horney gorilla with Wildcard145 and Gru, a couple of tube exits, participation in 4-way intermediate Airspeed Day, tunnel time with Eliana). I had a great time! But from reading the posts think I missed out on a lot of the fun . I left before NY eve. Loved seeing everyone and meeting people I hadn't met before. Can't wait to see everyone again at the next boogie
  12. Hi Nate. I was there Saturday (got one jump before the weather got bad), then was there Sunday, one of like 8 people looking up at the sky and wondering what the f**k we are doing here. I will be there next weekend training with my team, Next week is an Elsinore coaching weekend so come on out and take advantage of great coaching. See ya then. 13. Yeah, my husband prefers reds and will have a shiraz or Merlot even with chicken dishes. Think it is whatever you prefer, not what is supposed to be proper. BTW, Aggie Dave loved meeting you at Eloy and especially loved meeting your beautiful wife and jumping with her for the Airspeed Day. We totally rocked !!! 14. You probably will want to do a white wine, maybe a chardonnay or pinot grigio. Damn Jeanne I missed you! The boogie was awesome, but wasn't the same without you . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  15. I hardly ever cook dinner, usually for me it's a protein bar at the gym in between workouts, and my husband just eats whatever is for happy hour at the club. But made a NY resolution to cook more, so tonight for dinner is crab/shrimp enchilidas with rice/beans and salad. So what are you having? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  16. I've done it a couple times. Not much you can do, take over the counter stuff or get some Vicadin from your doc. Takes a while to heal. Just have to make sure you don't land on your butt while it is healing. Very good incentive to have stand up landings . Good luck! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  17. Congrats to Gia and GTAVercetti! I'm very happy for you both
  18. I think it was in the 60's, but really cold for us Californians. I had on 3 layers and was still cold. No way I could jump back east . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  19. Michelle, have you watched "It" before? I don't think it will matter what you put in your eggnog, you will probably still have trouble sleeping. Very scarey movie . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  20. I love all roller coasters and thrill park rides, but the X ride at six flags Valencia was a little scarey. But I would definitely do it again . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  21. I know this will sound lame, but I will come home from Eloy on the 30th, and we will go to a party at our country club on the 31st. My husband actually asked about going to a DZ party on the 31st. Just told him you don't want to even go there. Don't think he could handle the DZ crowd , Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  22. Evelyn

    Team Name

We just got our team together. Don't yet have a name. These are my ideas. Figured I'd run it by my dz.com friends to see what you liked before I presented it to my team. So what do ya think? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  23. Thanks for your input. I used this packing method just cu z my rigger recommended it to help me manage my canopy, but as I get better with packing I will go back to the method I initially learned, with the s-folds. Figure that since most people use this there must be a reason. My main concern was that I had packed my canopy this way and how would openings be, it seems like it will be okay. I definitely need to learn to pack . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  24. That's so awesome Chris! I won't be ready to work on freeflying until after Nationals next year (currently on a 4-way RW team), but once Nationals is over I want to devote all my jumps to freeflying so your coaching would be just what I need. Sending PM.
  25. Congratulations on getting a Pilot. That's what I have and my rigger said they are much easier to pack for newbies since they have the color coded lines and the red tab in the center. I love to fly my pilot and hopefully will learn to love to pack it . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
