Also, dont count out personal friends and family members. Shoot for 5k each....you might have half of the money you need right there. When i was 18, I talked my grandmother into loaning me 5k. I invested it and its now worth 9k. Lucky? Probably But..if i can get 5k at 18....you might be able to do the same with your family/friends. just a thought.

Thats pretty ignorant. Helmets..ESPECIALLY shitty non-certified skydiving helmets..do little to prevent being knocked out. Prevent scrapes and cuts..yea but not much more. even the certified helmets of skiing and other sports usually have a clause like "this protective device is not certified to provide any protection above 15mph" heh

Perhaps you could call the dropzone and talk to the st&a or DZO and find out what their problem is. This way you would know firsthand...perhaps your friend didnt emphisize the fact that she was unconfortable with making a non-tandem jump? I dunno, i wasnt there...and it sounds like you werent either...so call the dz and talk to them yourself on their behalf. Ask them wtf is up and get a reason why they wont let her/him jump.

I know there are smugglers rigs that have no metal and im wondering why normal rigs have the metal rings (not the release ones, but the chest and hip ones). I mean, I would think it would be lighter, more confortable, cheaper, and stronger (think slinks). Why all the metal?

Ranting about the weather. Havent jumped my new rig since it was delivered from mirage last november. its freaking snowing now....at the end of march AND, my brother was involved in a 17 car pileup on interstate 76. He was the first one to start sliding so it looks like its his fault. Amazingly no one was seriously injured but his car is totaled along with the other cars involved. The back seat is now the front seat. Im just thankfull he is not dead...and noone else is for that matter. its all the weathers fault! im moving south as soon as I gradute (1.5 years!!)

There are 5 at home. My laptop is a dell that was very nice..except I dont do any mantainence on it..its got viruses and corrupt files and crashes all the time and has spyware and everything else you dont want. So, i always hog this dell desktop p4 3gig 1k ram while my laptop gathers dust. hrmmm...anyone need a laptop? i think i need an audlible more than i need that thign :)

I vote that there is so much misinformation going on, that it is practicaly impossible to discern who is telling the truth. Therefore, I just dont pay attention to any of it. Everyone has alterier (sp) motives...at least thats how everyone ought to be looked at...because most do.

Well I never said that I wanted it one way or another. Im just stating how it felt for me, and calling out to others who can indetify with that.

Just looking back on my first jump last summer and remember being...well...not really that impressed with any "rush". I mean...i just felt like a bunch of wind with a good view. I kept going in my training and spent 7k so far not because of a rush..but because its fun. But not fun like I would think jumping out of a plane would be.. instead... its fun like going biking...or fun like running with my friend heather. Anyone else feel like this? I mean..maybe im just too stupid to be as scared as I ought to be...but its not a rush really for me...just a fun thing to do. Am I alone here?

awesome site just a note..when i download the movies it always has .php on the end of the file like blabla.mov.php or skydive.mpeg.php all I have to do is edit out the php and it will work, but i jsut thought id let ya know thanks for getting it up again!
