  1. Or it could be he truly doesn't know and is asking for advice instead of just doing it. Jumping to conclusions is not the best way to give advice. I didn't give him "advice". I gave him my opinion because that is what he wanted. The subject of the thread is "Asking for Opinions". But seriously, I still feel that if he weren't downsizing too quickly, you wouldn't need to ask. If he was 100% comfortable with his ability to downsize and went through the downsizing checklist and had done half brake landings, crosswind landing, downwind landings, double fronts, front riser turns, rear riser turns, flat turns, stall, and always has soft, accurate, stand up landings, then he wouldn't be wondering if he was downsizing too soon. And the fact still remains that he ask a question because he may not know what is considered good recommendations before downsizing. The list you present is good but he may not know about those task and therefore is asking questions. He is a new jumper after all, not highly experienced like yourself. It would have been helpful if you would have included your list of task to complete before downsizing in your original post instead of just saying "If you have to ask if you're downsizing too quickly, then you are".
  2. It says more about how you don't understand what you are talking about or that you are trying to twist things in your favor. Typical. I realize it must sting to have GOP hypocrisy exposed yet again. Twist and spin.
  3. 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88.........Looks like 8 years to me. (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) Of course if you ad 7 to 81 you get 88 but that's not the same thing. Self confessed ignorance? Math is not your strong point, is it? Obviously math is not your strong point. Unless your are trying to justify that 8 years minus 20 days becomes 7 years. But that aside, (Jan 1st) 81 to (Dec 31st)88 is 8 years. In other words is incorrect.
  4. Presidential terms do not run Jan 1 to Dec 31, so it is not 8 years. I think that was the point. You are right. It would only be 8 years minus 20 days. Or in other words 7 years according to Kallend.

  6. Not that the democrats on this site would use similar terms when referring to a republican as if it's a disgusting pejorative to be spat out like phlegm into the spittoon. I don't see the insults from people on this site that much different, no matter which side you support. Just change neo con to lib (or vice versa) and they all sound about the same.
  7. Sinking to a new low even for you.
  8. Is anyone checking anything? Whether I agree or disagree with the president or his policies, I think this quote from the article sums it up. They screwed up. It's not the first time for this or any other president and it won't be the last.

  11. It's very complicated and highly technical. Terribly flawed, but complicated and highly technical never the less. LOL. Priceless. You could have just said your estimate was wrong.
  12. Those are Google ads not DZ.com ads. Did I miss something here? I never said they were DZ.com ads did I? Did I miss something here? I never said that you said they were DZ.com ads did I?
  13. Why not post link to that instead, then? Everyone here is capable of reading. As Kallend has said many times, do your own home work. (Hint-Google)
  14. are you aware that there are very few white people who's grandparents were slaves? There are a LOT of white people who's distant relatives were slaves. that would be the distant black relatives. I did not mention black relatives and I was not referring to blacks in anyway. But it is true that there are a LOT of white people who's distant relatives were slaves, white slaves. Just depends on far back in history you choose to go. If you are going to try to equate that slaves from a 500 years ago (or less) compared to slaves 150 years ago are different, you are wrong.
  15. You forgot to add the preceding comment. I guess you wanted it taken out of context. Typical.

  17. Yes I did but you must not have. There were more than 2 second edits. It's to bad that you are having a problem with this just because someone spoke ill of Obama. Of course, the transcript is on line for anyone to view if you really wanted to refute the claims made.
  18. Yes, there is something wrong. People come here and go out of their way to break laws.....like you did. It seems it is more about the quality of people we are letting in the country than the laws.
  19. Are you aware that there are very few black people that skydive. Obviously not. Lets survey all the black hockey players and fans too. Oh wait......They all must be wealthy white republicans. Clearly your "logic" has failed you. So you are OK with racism towards one group but not toward other groups. Your logic is impeccable.
  20. Get over it! Good response to a serious question.
  21. Are you referring to people like the guy who posted this blog. http://www.raleighmccool.com/?p=17&cpage=1#comment-120 It sounds like even though he got his jump, he definitely got fucked on the "Extra Altitude" and even though he drove for 90 minutes to get there, chances are, he drove past at least one other DZ who would not have charged him for the extra altitude. I am not sure I would say he got fucked. In the beginning of his story he says that he paid $170 for the tandem that he purchased on the phone. Later, after he arrived at the DZ, he paid another $10 for the extra altitude. $180 for a tandem going to 14k is not getting fucked.
  22. I understand now. I am not sure about precision removable sliders but the two I have (different makers) the handles do NOT come out and do NOT become disconnect from the slider when pulled to release the slider.
  23. Yep, it sucks that we educate our children and look after old people who've paid into Social Security all their working lives. Did you attend public school? Do you drive on public roads? To your point, Yes for all of the above. But what amount of Tax on income is enough? When my wife and I were first married all so many years ago we were not financially well off and owed a great deal to Credit Cards, our own doing. But like most families we cut back our spending and paid down our debt. As our income grew over the years we were able to increase our standard of living. Our government can't do without, thus it demands more and more and more of every dollar we earn. Is 39.6% enough or should it be much higher. It should be enough to balance the budget when times are good. Running a deficit when times are bad is OK PROVIDED it's paid back when times are good. and that is why we are screwed....... thinking like that will sink this country. So when I am over my head in credit card debt etc. but things suck I should just spend, spend, spend and "count" on the good times coming and that I will be able to pay it all off as soon as "x" happens or "y" happens. Ya that makes a whole lot of sense.... Are you kidding me???? Silly analogy, nations are not individuals. So you are OK with running deficits in bad times in hopes that someday *maybe* it will be paid back. This sounds like something you have posted to being against on many occasions. Which political party do you affiliate yourself with? (don't worry, I don't expect an honest answer)
