  1. This place is an awesome DZ with friendly people and a great atmosphere. The only down side is that there is no real bathrooms, just port-a-potties. Not a big deal or a deal breaker in any way. I jumped here a couple of days during a recent trip and I would absolutely go back if I was in the area.
  2. HD Road King with Screaming Eagle air intake, vance & hines true dual pipes with V&H slip-ons and a power commander V. Nothing special but it mine and I love it. Life is short, eat more bacon, have more sex and jump anytime you can!!

  6. Mr. A's in Little Italy is really nice. It's in the penthouse of one of the older buildings and was a speakeasy during Prohibition. It was remodeled to look the same way that it did back then. Pretty cool place and the food is good too. Here's a link http://www.bertrandatmisteras.com/ Life is short, eat more bacon, have more sex and jump anytime you can!!
  7. I know how to change the oil myself, but usually end up going to Walmart and paying the $20. The supplies alone cost about $15. Besides, like theonlyski said, the filters are a BITCH to get to. Even more so on the smaller cars. Life is short, eat more bacon, have more sex and jump anytime you can!!
  8. "they have prooven themselves to be dangerous and violent people easilly led into criminal activity." OK, let me get this straight. As an active duty military member, I have proven myself to be a dangerous and violent person that is easily led into criminal activity? If that is your truthful opinion then I'd like to take this opportunity to say "You're Welcome" I feel priviliged to defend your right to make that judgement of me and my brothers and sisters in uniform. Your right to free speech entitles you to make that judgement and voice your opinion. The Constitution is a wonderful document filled with beautiful ideas, but in and of itself it is powerless to enfore those ideas. Those that volunteer to put on the uniform give force to that document and power into your rights. So please, enjoy your rights. 9. Well, let's see. Ten years ago I was and E-5 stationed on a ship and married to a horribly unhappy woman. I loved my job and the folks that I worked with but hated my home life. I was constantly broke cause she refused to get a job, but spent money like it was going out of style. The best favor that she ever did me was leaving me after 9/11 stating that she couldn't be married to a man in the military while we were at war. I was devastated at the time but looking back it was the greatest thing that could have happened. Since then I have met my wife, enjoy an awesome home life, still satisfied and happy with my job and am looking foward to retiring from the military in a couple of years and moving on to the next challenge. I've taken up skydiving and that makes me happy beyond belief as well as possibly being a future employment opportunity. All in all I'd say that I'm much happier than 10 years ago and I really don't forsee that trend changing in the next ten years or the decade following. Every day is a new challenge and I wake up ready to tackle the world. Life is short, eat more bacon, have more sex and jump anytime you can!!
  10. Matterhorn's were by far the best boot i have ever worn. they were issued to me while i was in bootcamp camp years ago. they made it through bootcamp, 2 serious hurricanes, fire fighting academy, police academy, 2 years underway (after everything else already listed), and an extra 1 1/2 years working at a power plant after i left the service...they are an amazing boot, but they are almost 300 a pair.. Quote +1 Have had a pair of Matterhorns for about 6 years now. They soles have survived the flight deck nonskid and alot of time in the water. They're waterproof but that also means that any foot sweat will stay in the boot. I found that packing them with newspaper at night will dry them out very well. They get pretty warm in hot weather though. They are pricey. Life is short, eat more bacon, have more sex and jump anytime you can!!
  11. Years ago, my boarding team was at the range doing some practice with the M9. We have a new guys that was trying to "push" the rounds out and was consistently hitting the deck about ten feet in front of him. Now mind you, we were on the flight deck of a ship and he was shooting a steel, non-skid deck. No telling where those rounds might have deflected to. Needless to say that the rest of the team was hiding behind a bulkhead and the range master that was trying to help him was sweating bullets and shaking. Afterwards, we all agreed that if we ever got into a fire-fight, he would be the very 1st "casualty". At another duty station, I was overseeing the weapons turn over for the quarterdeck watch and had a brand new Ensign as the off-going Officer of the Deck. The boot Ensign had to present a clear and safe weapon for turnover. He knew that he had to remove the round in the chamber, so he pulled the slide back and ejected that round, but then noticed that he had failed to remove the magazine and would chamber another round when he released the slide. To prevent this, he chose to put his finger in the well and push the round down into the magazine then release the slide. I almost pissed myself laughing when he turned around and asked for help in removing his, now stuck, finger from the slide. He got his weapons qual pulled as soon as I could stop laughing and go talk to the armory. What are some of the stories that you guys have witnessed. I'd be interested to hear, plus they might have some training value for some of my junior guys that have never handled a weapon. 13. I've had several patients that had some relief by simply not carrying around a wallet. The constant pressure can lead to irritation. I agree with most of the above posts that suggest push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, planks and any of the core-strengthening exercises. Fully agree with whoever said to use ibuprofen (NSIAD) and avoid the narcotic pain-killers. Narcs simply turn a switch off in the brain and not recognize the pain, the damage is still there and usually getting worse. NSAIDs actually have a physical effect on the injury aread by reducing inflammation and therefore pressure on the nerve. Just today I recieved the MRI results from a patient that I've been following for a while and it revealed micro-fractures in his L4 & L5, leading to inflammation in the area and pain that has been previously diagnosed as sciatica. Considering your rather "high impact" activity, that might be something to consider. Talk to your doc. Just my $0.02, sorry to hear that you're in pain and hope that you can find something that helps soon. Life is short, eat more bacon, have more sex and jump anytime you can!!
  14. My first time jumping my own pack job was #79, later that day I packed #80 and packed a line over and had to cut away. I'll be re-taking the packing class this Sunday, one on one with the instructor this time. Life is short, eat more bacon, have more sex and jump anytime you can!!
