  1. Hello Wendy, I bet you'll find this interesting as well. Why Generation Y Yuppies Are Unhappy http://www.huffingtonpost.com/wait-but-why/generation-y-unhappy_b_3930620.html
  2. So you're for government regulation that stifles free enterprise?
  3. The only reliable way to solve differences in opinion is through a dual a sun rise with California legal AR-15s.
  4. I only have one problem with her. She is a greedy fucking bitch. 6 million dollars a year is not enough for her to put her music spotify. This deprives lots of fans of her music and shines a bad light on streaming services in general which should undeniably be the future of media consumption. I say again, FUCK HER and her greedy ilk.
  5. I think you are willingly ignoring what he is saying so that your 200 year old world view is not challenged.
  6. Never underestimate the power of the twitter shitstorm. This is what caused this now and why Cosby was able to buy himself out a trail last time.
  7. http://www.politico.com/story/2014/11/mitch-mcconnell-rand-paul-nsa-bill-112984.html Gotta love dat small government...
  8. Why not issue a mandatory free ID to every citizen? Then have anybody that does not vote pay like $500 like in Australia. This makes voter fraud very hard and disenfranchising impossible.
  9. You may not have heard of it but it's a fringe movement called the catholic church.
  10. I really hate defending any religion but honor killings are more a cultural phenomenon than a religious one. They happen across most religions and cultures. It is irresponsible to try and make it a unique feature to Islam or ISIS. Most American feminists are preoccupied by female video game characters. Female genital mutilation and under age forced marriage isn't as catchy as rape culture.
  11. http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/10/20/cities-restrict-sharingfoodwithhomelesspeople.html The United States of America: Where the merciful are forbidden to feed the homeless. Where being poor is illegal. Truly the greatest country on earth.
  12. Even though Christelsabine doesn't like it ;-) I will answer your question because I believe in cultural exchange. First of all only low percent alcohol is legal for 16 year olds, that is beer and wine. You must understand that beer is an integral part of German culture. Nobody bats an eye if you drink a Mas(1liter) for lunch in Munich and go to work afterwards. There is also a traditional breakfast(Weisswurst) which comes with a Mas and is had often. This is special for Bavaria though. All other parts of Germany have their local beers. (Koelsch, Cologne; Alt, Duesseldorf... to name a few.) Since beer is so central to German culture and German policy makers live the real world the know that making alcohol illegal works about as well as abstinence education for teenagers. They would find a way to get alcohol(paying bums to buy it, fake ID's you know that better than I do). They make it legal at a relatively early age. This ensures that the first contact with alcohol is usually under supervision and there nothing verboten so the urge to binge drink is lower since alcohol readily available.
  13. If you think about it for a minute you may realize the utter bullshit of your argument. This is about young people dying due to guns. You want to draw an arbitrary age line where it's all of sudden no longer tragic to die by firearm. So where is the lie by saying 7 children and teens die every day? WHERE IS THE LIE? Are nineteen year olds not teens? Well this would devolve into a discussion about the German judicial system and the philosophy behind it. Let me just say what the fundamental difference between the German and the US system is. In Germany it's about rehabilitation and what is best for society and the individual. It is better for society to try and turn the 20 year in to productive member of said society and better for the individual to get chance to try and redeem his life. There is also a lot critique about to lax juvenile punishment here as well. This is a constant debate. In the US it's about revenge, showing you're tough on crime and about maximizing profits for the correctional facility industry. The individual is irrelevant since an example must be made.
  14. Your question is flawed since none of the above was created. It evolved from a prior species.
  15. I did, I chose to ignore it because it's simply irrelevant. If lightning strikes and heart disease were remotely related, maybe. Yet firearm deaths are firearm deaths and teens are teens.
  16. QuoteI knew that, but essentially the parent is allowing the "child" to do what they want to do whereas and 18 year old is allowed to make an "adult" decision. Quote Thats true, just to add to Germany thing. It is very common for people aged 18-21 to be tried according to juvenile law. They are attested a lack of maturity.
  17. At lot of those heart disease deaths would preventable by just eating less and moving more... What this has to do with current discussion is beyond me. Yeah, at what age does a firearm death become not tragic or statistically irrelevant? Please enlighten us. The only thing insulting is your complete lack of empathy for anybody above a certain arbitrary age.
  18. The headline you criticized stated teens AND children. I was just making the point that nineteen year olds are still teens and should be included in every children AND teens statistic. With the second sentence I was saying there is no clear line between adults and children in the completely dysfunctional US judicial system.
  19. I don't think thats irrelevant at all. But this discussion is beyond the scope of this post. The racism is implied by the interpretation by labeling minority kids as a different kind of kid than an average white one. I agree though, that the solution to the problem can not ignore the socio economic background of the people most at risk. I cannot disagree here. Ironically the very reason behind a lot of gun violence is the religious fervor in which guns and access to them are worshiped in US Society. I think this study tries to show the downside to free unregulated access of guns.
  20. The emphasis is on eightTEEN and nineTEEN. A nineTEEN year old is still a TEENager. But in a country where 10 year olds are tried as adults the difference seems to be semantics. Today I learned teen suicide and gang violence is no longer tragic and no steps should be taken to reduce this. I also learned that is apparently only important what is safe for the average white kid. The blatant racism in you argument is unbelievable.
  21. because the availability of illegal firearms in no way correlates to the availability of legal firearms. I also just learned hat the day I enter a gang my previously legal firearm is suddenly illegal.
  22. So 15-19 year olds are somehow not children and teens? Interesting...
  23. http://www.bradycampaign.org/sites/default/files/Children-and-Guns-Report.pdf Guns don't kill people, children that find daddies gun lying around kill people. These children and teens need to learn how to take personal responsibility.
  24. Actually I did, but a politician that says something other than what really happens is not really news worthy. It's like a headline: Thief steals, or Killer murders. I think the article has some merit, the changed quotes are dilettante and unfunny though.
  25. Wow, that reads like a 10 old year wrote it for school project to impress his right wing teacher. At least post some funny or intelligent satire.
