  1. My Neptune allways ingnored the first freefall and swoop alarm when the batteries went low. Second and third alarm worked though. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  2. Try to cantact Skydive Tirol, (http://www.skydive-tirol.com/) they may be able to help you. If not try Hans Ostermuenchner (http://www.fallschirmdepot.de/) he has a shop located close to Bad Toelz in Germany. Frank If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  3. Cool sehr schön gemacht, aber hättet ihr es nicht für Tegernseer machen können? :-) Translation: Cool very nicely done, but couldn't you have done that for Tegernseer Beer? If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  4. A lot of skydivers ignore the danger that you can simply die while skydiving, some chose to ingnore that stuff can get wraped up on stuff attached to helmets. Both have been proven to be wrong. People still do both for the benefit of doing it... The more ignorant you are the more you benefit from everything!!! :-) If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  5. Try http://paranodon.de/ they regularly send out Emails when they do jump in the winter. I believe that is quite often. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  6. The bigger DZs are in Thalmaessing to the north of munich and Illertissen and Leutkirch in the south west. Thalmaessing operates a Porter Tuesday to Sunday, Illertissen two Soloys and next year two times per month a supervan. Leutkirch has a Porter and as fas as i know a Caravan also now. Most DZs close from November to March, some open if the weather is good even during winter on demand. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  7. Just don't do it, it is incredebly dangerous, especially if you don't have the right equipment and training. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  8. And even more frequently with higher wingloadings. Lower Wingloadings make you safer in such situations, but i agree they still don't make ist safe. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  9. NO, the manual say no more than 2 inches for a reason. Also in case you do shorten them to much you will also get problem in case you go to front risers with the toggles in your hand. You may also want to ask PD, they have excelent customer service and will give you an answer if there is a possibility so safely shorten them. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  10. Unfortunatly we are all forced to use a device on every jump that has failed a lot more often than any AAD. The proven failure of this device is part of the reason why AADs where introduced. We all have this device (more or less) but sometimes chose not to use it on a jump, prior to a jump or when choosing gear. If we would use this device more often and accept that a back up device* makes sense we would all be a lot safer. This device is called Brain. *AAD If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  11. These guys made took the step and desgned their own tunnel: http://www.indoor-skydiving.com/ger/ From what i hear it is great. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  12. It was a boogie organized by skydive nuggets in Leutkirch Germany. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  13. That is correct and of course if there is an obstacle there is a chance to hit it. In this case if i remember correctly it was a student and the instructor had to appear before court and was even sentenced because there was too much wind. This also happend on the Island of Fehmarn where there are lots and lots of wind turbines. A wind turbine is an obstacle very much like others. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  14. If you are enough people the DZ may oben during the week. Skydive Fano, BFU and Flyzone Fermo have confirmed to me they will open, just depends how many people you bring. The last two years our anual skydive trip went to Skydive Marche, which is now Flyzone Fermo. The Pilot however still flys the Skydive Marche Porter at another DZ and he may also give you a good jump ticket price. How many are you? If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  15. A group i traveled with to a big US DZ found Bed Bugs in the house we rented. After considering a lot of options a couple of us decided to get the rig freezed for i believe a couple weeks at very low temperatures. Contact Airtec before you do that and find out the necessary temp and duration. I chose to do nothing, my room wasn't infested. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  16. I don't see the problem. Sykdive Colibris landing zone in Germany is located 2,2 km or less from wind turbines. Check out Google earth with the folowing coordinates: Turbine: 49° 4'8.89"N 11°10'2.20"E Landing Area: 49° 3'59.36"N 11°11'51.08"E I don't recall anybody ever having a problem of landing anywhere close to the turbines. The DZ even chose the new airport location because they had to move from Ampfing due to Airtraffic from the Munich Airport. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  17. Very nice Video. I started Sykdiving in 1999. 2 and a half year ago my friends and i got stuck on a boogie with bad weather, so 3 of us started to surf the internet. We found out with a skydiving licence it is a lot easier to get the paragliding licence in germany. We also found out that with a paragliding licence it is only a week of training for the paramotoring licence. :-) We all live within an hour drive to the alps so we picked a school and started that same year and a couple months later we also did the paramotoring licence. None of us ever went to the mountains to paraglide, but we do paramotor ocasionally, for example to look for freebags and reserves in corn fields. :-) I should do more paragliding. 18. No, but that is what i first thougt too. The mountains are too close, so the valley is too narrow for skydive Tyrol and also the tent is missing :-) If it does not cost anything you are the product.

  22. Mirror tape is sometimes to wavy, i prefer a piece of a plastic mirror. They can be bought in car parts stores and are sold as repair kits for car mirrors. If it does not cost anything you are the product.
  23. Ok, i tried out my Worksafe earplugs yesterday for the first time and ironically i also had a to close for comfort situation under canopy. First of all the earplugs work fine, it is noticably quieter in the plane, but i can still hear and undersand talking on the planne. Pressure is not a issue as the earplugs have a little hole in them just enough for the pressure equlisation. I will be using them on days were i jump a lot and on noisy days. While on final i had one canopy in front and to the left of me but no space on the right because there where houses and of course the canopy in front of me was slower and started turning closer to the house. Screaming did not work at all. I had to fly in brakes on final, but no issue with my windloading. I also had 3 other close calls on caopy collisions, all were swoopers cutting into my approach, they were so fast i wouldn't even have time to scream. 24. At last years Safety day of the german parachute federation there was an expert for acoustics who is also a skydiver with a very intersting lecture. Conclusion was that he highly recomended wearing earplugs while skydiving but they should allow air to pass through due to the pressure change. Here are the notes to his lecture: http://www.metatag.de/webs/dfv/downloads/4_-_Geh%F6rschutz_f%FCr_Fallschirmsportler.pdf It is in german so just look at the graphs, starting on page 20. Page 23 shows the Volume for different types of planes, tunnel and freefall! Page 38 and39 recomended hearing protection for freefall. Hope this helps, i ordered myself a couple of Worksafe earplugs.
  25. When i was in Italy last week it sounded more like Skydive Tortuga is no more. They lost their sponsor and the People that made it popular if anything ist still hapening there they fly a Cesna. Skydive Marche, Skydive Fano and BFU are nice places, Terni also seems to be popular. Franco If it does not cost anything you are the product.
