Looking at doing a couple of days. How about you?

Cell phones for skydive carrying
KCJumper replied to johnbamburg's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I carry mine in a SpiBelt (iPhone6). I got it for running but it works well under my jumpsuit around my stomach. Doesn't get in the way and comfortable to carry it. -
Got mine in Missouri in a little over 4 weeks.

Keeps showing me as logged out when I try and respond to an ad.

I have a standard can opener from Pampered Chef and no troubles using it left handed. Never looked into getting a left handed can opener before.
-
I teach 6/7 graders and the first day of each quarter I scan the room to see who is left handed. It normally takes them much longer to notice that I am but once they do, it's like an instant bond.
-
I write, golf and throw a ball left handed but like many have learned to do some things right handed. Throwing a PC was just a matter of learning one way. There was no option so I never questioned it. Much like when I learned to play the trumpet. There wasn't an option.

That's the answer. If it was square some idiot could drop it through on edge.

Microsoft's famous question is "why are man hole covers in the road, round?"

The old Walmart rental program.

Boxer briefs if i'm just jumping or teaching. Wicking underwear that I run in or running shorts with nothing under if i'm packing only.
-
I like the mixer.

What's the most time you'd be willing to devote to a work commute?
KCJumper replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in The Bonfire
I did an hour each way to my first teaching job. Covered 44 miles each direction on a two lane highway. Now I'm 8 miles and don't have to use a single highway if I don't want. Short term long drives are alright. -
What was the number one song on the day you were born??

Had that tingle of something big...and then the laugh at the end. Nicely done.

all about personal preference

Depends when he got his D. Used to only take 200 jumps to get one. Ahh yes. Scott did get his before the cutoff. Just like I got my C with only 100 jumps. Been a few years.

Charity Raffle at Too Dirty Halloween (The Farm)
KCJumper replied to iluvtofly's topic in The Bonfire
Can you buy raffle tickets even if you won't/can't attend? -
Maybe i'm wrong in my thinking but when I think about the difference in cable length I always thought it was for the accidental dislodging of a handle. That way if one riser became disconnected it would be the non-RSL side.

Any guesses on rates for ifly? Tried to look at the website but they only quote for tourist packages on there. Haven't had a chance to call. Planning to do that today.

No problems speaking up. Not a very quiet guy to begin with. Have family that lives in the neighborhood close to the DZ. Been watching people jump there for years. Look forward to finally making a jump there.
-
Thank you. Look forward to meeting some friendly folks.

I get the assumption that I was being lazy. I could read the same thing into my first post. Why I clarified instead of just hiding. I understand red flags and how they quickly amount to my own personal article in Parachutist and my very own thread started by someone other than me. I do appreciate the concern since we have issues in the sport with jumpers being stupid and making bad decisions.
-
Alright that was poorly worded. I am renting gear when I get there. Not sure I will have time to jump and instead of putting my gear through the paces of TSA. It's not a lazy issue. This trip is about running a Marathon not skydiving. If i'm there and find time then I wanted someone to jump with. Thanks for the assumptions.

I'm headed to Utah next Thursday to run Top of Utah Marathon on Saturday but figured I would try and get a couple of jumps in on Friday at Skydive Odgen. Trying to find a few people to jump with/someone who might have gear I can rent/borrow. Not wanting to travel gear on plane if I don't have to. PM me if you are in the area.
