I think you best summed up the answer in your first post then, AZ, FL or CA. Is there a cost differential with your flight? What about room and board costs, car rental, anything else you might want to do in the area while you are here? All of that can eat into your available funds for jumping, so take those into account. DeLand is family friendly, there are always kids running around there. There's a playground right by the landing area, a big deck to watch everyone's landings and a full restaurant. Eloy is a great choice and you'll have a great time at the Christmas Boogie. Make sure you save some money to book time in the tunnel too! There's a hotel within walking distance to the dz and there are also bunkhouses. If you want to stay in one of those, you should probably book your space asap. Zhills has campers for rent that are right on the dropzone. DeLand has skydivers who rent rooms and have bunkhouses that are near the dz, but not directly on the property. I'm not sure about Sebastian and Lake Wales. I'm pretty sure all of the dropzones mentioned probably have a list of who has rooms to rent, if you want to try contacting them directly. First, I think you should go where you can get a cheap plane ticket. How are the flight prices to FL? Winter is the best time to jump in FL and we often get a lot of Brits here. There are bunkhouses and camping areas at all of the dropzones. I would choose to save money that way instead of a dz that offers "cheap" prices. That, to me, would make me question how "cheap" they are on their airplane maintenance too. I'm sorry to hear that you've been through so much, that's a lot for one person to take in just a year. If I was there, I'd give you a hug. One think I want to say about your girl leaving you...let go of the anger, it's not doing you any good. She was able to leave you when you were down, so all that means is that she really wasn't the girl for you. Now that you've split, you're able to find someone who loves you for who you are now. It's a blessing. Take a deep breath, let her go and open your heart for someone new.
