Andy was a friend to dz.com, and to so many of the southern jumpers. We will miss his great laugh and smiling face. He was a pain to moderate on here sometimes, but he always welcomed me with a hug in person and didn't hold it against me that I had to be stern with him.

I'm glad you're making plans and doing better. I hope your adventure puts a new spark in your step! I always look at life as chapters in a book. Some chapters are longer than you thought, and some are shorter. Some make you smile, some make you cry and some make you say, "Holy shit. I didn't see that coming!" But, they're all important into shaping the great story of what is your life. The chapters that make you sad don't have to necessarily be considered bad; they're just part of your story.

I suggest that you make a drive out to the closest dropzones, and hang around for an afternoon/evening. Each one is going to have a different vibe. Talk to people, especially the ones you might be able to tell who are students, and see how they like the place. If you're the type of person who'd like to hang around the dz after jumping, see what kind of social scene is at each one. Also, ask about student gear and if each dz has good rental sport gear (for when you graduate from AFF) that will fit your body type. I can remember being fresh off student status and being so pumped to jump all day, only to find out that someone else rented the gear that fit me. I had to wait for that person to finish jumping for the day. It was a big bummer!
