The biggest pro for cx100: you can really switch off the E(Electr.)IS in air. But i dont know if there is a non HD wide angle lens you can zoom through.

Did you speak with opteka? Here on my DZ is a jumper with the exact same problem. He says keeping his video helmet(or the lens) outside around the temp. and air humidity from this jumppoint did help a lot.
