  1. Yeah there is a masive cooling trend here it may even get below 70 this week. Sorry you live in not California. Come visit we will always welcome a new friend. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  2. froggie Take the advice that everyone has been passing on. When you are going to jump as a student or later, plan the jump, reherse it in your mind, check and then double check youe equipment, and then have fun. If at any poin in time the jump doesn't feel right review it until it does. NEVER let anyone make you jump not friends, not money, not even your instructor. You wouldn't try a medical procedure on someone that you were not confident in so don't jump unless your are good with it. Make the extra pass, take the ride down. JUST be safe and keep it fun. 3. Kelly My name is Chris. I don't have to hide my secret identity. I will let you see the final proposal that I make and any feedback that I get. Who knows maybe we can do a better job of helping people, make new friends, and get a few free jumps along the way. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  4. I am going to present my DZO with a proposal to augment the medical response equipment. However, I have also included an area of aditional training. I think that the EMTs should gett o know DZ personel better and each other. I was suggesting a semi-monthly meeting where the EMT can check in update their information and check the supplies. In addition I was thinking that a semi anual get together with the local EMS might be in order as well as drilling. My final idea was to reward the EMTs or other medical personel on the DZ like they do with jump organizers. I think that we need a coherent plan and I don't think that most DZ have their resources organized. I thnk just the meetings could help get us all on the same page. Maybe we could even try and get a larger group of us us together online so that we don't have to re-invent the wheel every time. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  5. My girlfriend's shitzu likes to sleep with us. However, I moved in and took his favorite spot (against her back). Now her likes to sleep on the back of my neck and to wake me up to let him out by chewing on or licking my ear. I am having these great dreams about my girlfriend nibbling my ear and then wake up to see that it is only the dog. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  6. You think that the brids are mocking you but they are just trying to remind you why you jump, why you push the edge with the canopy and why you freefly. Man the major reason I skydive is from this deep desire to fly like the great golen eagles that I saw when I was a kid. Then a few years agao I was playing golf (OK you can all stop laughing and no knicker jokes) and saw this huge tree with a nest and the pair of Bald Eagles that lived in it. One was lazily floating on the thermals and the other went fishing, just swooped down and plucked the fish out of the water. Damn it was beautiful. That is what I am trying to get a bit of when I skydive. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross

    layoffs

I am totally going nuts right now. I have made a total of two jumps in like 8 weeks. Everytime that I had a free weekend it rained or was supposed to rain. Now the sun is out and the living is good. 8 days and counting until jumps and a new rig. YEAH Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  11. My friends and have made it kind of a tradition to bring Krispy Kreem doughnuts with us to the DZ so that always reminds me of jumping. Just ask if you want one we always need new friends and you guys always seem like you could use a free meal. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross

    newbie staus?

Shouldn't this whole sick thread be under the I'm Hungry thread about what we like to eat before jumping. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  13. I think that AFF 1 is by far and away the hardest but not the whole jump just the time between then end of the FJC and when you exit the plane. I think that I psyked myself out more at that poin then at any time. I was way more stressed in the mock up before AFF1 than when I lost my goggles during my graduation dive. You will never know which level is the hardest util you have finished and then you won't worry about it. Relax, prepare, double check and then have fun. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  14. You just need to find were it says that every man woman and child in the USA is guarenteed the right to skydive from at least 13000' or even better 15000. Good luck I am thinking of joining you next year in law school. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  15. Guys not that I want break our colective bubble but of course we are all geeks...we met in a computer forum. While we all love to skydive the first thing that we all have in common is that we all are posting here. I hate to admit it but this computer is what I used to decide where to do my FJC. We are fun loving, beer drinking (not froggie), party having, wild people but we are all on line at what ever time and have been here alot. Geek Sky Goddesses are soo sexy. Mir Re- Entry

I just heard that the target is only like 40 ft sq. and is in the South China Sea. That mean that it is way off the path that Mir is supposed to take down. I think that some one should just shoot a hole in it and say that it was space junk. I mean even if something from space does hit it won't they just say that it isn't Mir. 17. I don't want to have to get the stains out of my new gear after I christen it. I mean I am going to be bummer the first time that I get grass stains on it. Although my girlfriend might enjoy being in the harness. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  18. More pictures of the dropzone.com ers. We need a picture forum. We also need soft wear (t-shirts, caps, pull cords). Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross

  21. And they call Elsinor the friendliest DZ around! I knew that skydiving has the hottest chicks around but defintely sets the stage for some one ups manship. See if any of us can out do jumpergirl. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  22. Are you a man or giraffee? Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  23. It is like the Nike comercials say "Just DO it"> I don't have the cash for a new rig but I found a way to get it. I couldn't really do my AFF as fast as I wanted but I found a way. I can really... but I found a way. If you totally commit to it you will find a way. Decide that you will and accept no excuses Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  24. Do any of you have experience with the canopy control school I was hearing about at Lake Elsinor? What do they teach and is it worth the money? Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  25. I most foreign countries the DZ are in the country and most of the land is used for grazing. Since the disease is soo infectious the people are not allowed to skydive for fear of infecting other areas. Thus many of our friends in the UK and now Europe are not able to jump.
