  1. I don't know if you could get Up in the wind tunnel without a little extra thrust. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  2. froggie If you ever need someone to practice on I will volunteer to be the first. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  3. I am the first person to cry for better safety and to encourage everyone to try and be better perpared for Mr. Murphy to jump up and bite you. However, I think that we are making great head way in safety. I am a novice at 49 jumps and consider myself as such. I am well aware that I do not know anywhere near everything. I am always asking for advice, explanations, and help. NO ONE has EVER denied me the answers if they had them or thought less of me. At my DZ anyone will provide a grear check. I often ask my former instructors for one as they are super familiar with safety. Remember that we are alll a family and we need to look after each other. Old hadns need to take the new people uner their wing and need to be sure enough to tell us to respect or bounderies. We (as newbies) need to take the advice of those who have been there before. Remember that knowledge is power and here it will keep you alive. God belss Jan and her Family. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross

Congratulations!! Isn't it great being able to make your own decisions and sign the log books. Be safe and lets hear about the cold water training. Bottoms UP. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  5. I finally got my new rig. Brand new Javelin, Spectre 170 and PD160R. It fit so great and looked better than I had hoped for (I didn't get to pick the colors). Then I flew it for the first time. It was like going from athe family station wagon to a Porshe. I surfed all my landings and finally understood why people love to fly the canopy. It was so great the canopy ride not just a way down for the next jump but rather a whole new adventure. What was your first jump with your new rig like? Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  6. I am finishign off my gear with a full face helmet and a dytter or pro trac. What helmets would you recomend and why? I have only jumped the Oxygen and really liked it. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  7. This is coming from a guy so take it the way that it is ment. I would have no problem jumping with a woman as long as I wasn't too much bigger than she is (like 6-7" and 100lbs) meaning that she was comfortable that she would be able to keep me stable if I freeked. I have a friend that just completed the AFF JM course and I think taht the guys gave her an extra ration of shit to deal with so she may be more competant than the men at the same level. 8. You guys are so damn unromantic get the woman you love some thing that really show show much you care. Buy her a whole damn AFF course. That way you get to jump every weekend and the sex to go with it. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross

This was the conversation this morning at the Bombshelter. I don't know what to say we all hoped that it was just a bad recount of the one back east. All my love and prayers to Jan's family. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  10. Hello pseudo FFF Welcome to our diluded little family. You can already see that we are just like any other family we bicker and call each ohter nasty names but whenthigs are rough there is no better place to be than with good friends. My name is Chris. I have been jumping at Perris since Oct and just hit 50 jumps. Good luck with your rating. Restore the original FFF Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  11. I finally got to jump my new rig this weekend and the spectre 170 was awsome. I jumped a 190 on friday and got the feeling back but the 170 was a new ball game. I am loging it at 1.1 and I finally could get enough speed to do good front riser turns at altitude and to get a good 15-25' surf. I made 6 jumps on the 170 and had my feet dowwn and sliding acreoss the grass on every one. I finally understand why my friends swoop. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross

    BAD YAMS!!

I can only speak from my experience but when my friend passed level 4 they told him that he had passed but was marginal and that he might want to think about repeating it. They did give him the option of going on because he was within the margin but recomended that he repeat so that he was safer and a better flier. He did repeat and said that it was one of the best decisions that he made in AFF. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  13. One of the Skydive U instructors at my DZ has started the habbit of tugging on the straps of anyone whos chest strap seems even a little odd. It usually gives them a start and they fix it. My friends and I were so shocked by the Lodi incident that we have taken this habbit to the point of a game. we make sure to not only visually check but to tug on each other's straps to be sure that they are fastened. 14. I just bought a brand new Spectre 170. I have 40 jumps and will have 50+ by the time that I get to jump it for the first time. I will be loading it at 1.1. What will the flight be like vs the 190 I have been jumping. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  15. You go!!! That is a great story. I love your posts because they are so passionate. I think that is one of the things that we all see is that our skydiving makes us more likely to live our lives with the carefree attitude that makes like fun. Besides you are not old unless you are willing to sit on the couch and stay there. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  16. I already have an ALTI III and goggles. I also have a protec helmet. I just bought a J3 Spectre 170 and a PD160R (I am thinking of trading up to a Dash M 181). I have just completed my Skydive U basic Body flight course (20 coached jumps) and am going to pass 50 jumps this weekend. I have the basics covered but am looking to complete the set. 17. Donna Welcome to our little thread. We are all trying to shake a couple of good ideas from our head so that we are all better perpared. If you have any suggestions or ideas please let us all know. This is a way for all of us to learn. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  18. Unfortunately too many of us have been through losing someone that they knew or watching someone go in. We all seem to deal with it in a different way. I saw and helped with a person who crashed at our DZ. It was hard to deal with and I am going to go back this week to make my first jump since that day. I don't know if this will help but I always think that the people that we lost would want us to keep jumping and living on the edge where we can all see the beauty of life even if it also shows us how delicate it is. If you can't talk to the people at your DZ you can talk to us and we will understand. We share you pain. Be safe and God Bless. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  19. I just bought a rig (beer) and am wondering what you all would suggest to buy next a jumpsuit or a full face helmet and dyter? Is there anything that I just have to get? Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  20. Playmate I am going to be at Perris Friday. Stop by and say hello. I will be jumping with Skydive U most of the day but I want to jump with some of the .com people. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  21. 17 hrs and a root canal that has to be about the lowest that it can go. I hope that you get to jump Wed. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  22. My buddies and I are ditching work on friday and camping at Perris but we are looking for some new friends to jump with during the day and to party with at night. Any of you wild people going to be out at the RW camp this weekend? Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  23. Stay with it. I have a friend who did level 4 8 times. She had over 20 jumps by the time that she finally completed her 3RW jumps and packing. She still jumps. It will come in time and you will be flying again. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  24. I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! I want the time to be able to go out and make that many jumps. Maybe this weekend. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
  25. I am going with the group on this one. How can you pick just one. The first jump is always one or why would we all come back. Thenthe first release jump where you are flying alone for the first time is like taking your first step. Your first sucessful RW and freefly. HOwever, I think that the best is yet to come for me. This weekend I am going to make a jump with my friend who is finally finishing his A licence. Then the next day the three friends who started this adventure together are finally going to get to do a 3way. I think that will be the best jump ever just being in the air with all three of us. The Ultimate would have to be the like 30 way that we will have to do at the DZ.com boggie if it gets put together. That will be one that goes up on the wall. Blue Skys and Safe Landings Albatross
