  1. All in all a better than average article. Pretty good work by Tom B.
  2. Are you sure that Ueli opened that?
  3. I smell more base babies. The flock continues to expand.

What 460 said. Way to heal up quickly! Cya
  5. You can't burn the ESB. No one has jumped it since Thor and (edit to cover identity of crazy Russian wingsuit jumper ). You will be seen, it will hit the papers, and people will whine. Its fair game to anyone with the balls to try it. I would love to jump it, but I won't/can't take the risk or the time to do it. If NYC is your home, then you should know that its a big town and that this won't be remembered by Monday. Your regular sites are fine, aren't they? I dream of a jump like that, and I am happy to see people go after the dream jumps. But they are what they are and a charge of burning just doesn't hold up. Cya
  6. Morpheous did some freeflying with the Gargoyle way back when, and there are a few pics on their web site. However, if you are talking about straight up full on freeflying with base gear on a regular basis, I think that you would be asking for a problem. WHen base jumpers primarily used skydiving gear for base, they had problems becasue they were using gear that was designed for one sport and using it for a sport it was not intended for. You would be doing the same thing in reverse, and I think that it would be short lived, so to speak. I've got many jumps out of planes with base gear, including velcro, but I would not trust any of it for freefly. Too much speed, to many anglular changes. I hope I never hit 165 on a base jump.
  7. You talkin' to me? I do sell them, but I keep a low profile.
  8. Delay is when you mess around at the exit point because you are scared and mustering up the will to jump. It varies with the familiarity of the object, altitude, and of course, the number of drinks you have had. Hope this helps. Cya
  9. That does not look safe to jump. Nothing like standing on the exit point with brand new gear you sewed together yourself. Hope it works. (just kidding, ......maybe) Cya
  10. Those are awesome pictures Jason. I especially like the one with Mallory laying on her side with what looks like a bridle wrap on her lag. Are you doing malfunction training with her already? Good thinking. You can't teach them too early. She is just adorable in that setup. Glad you are enjoying it. Cya
  11. If you know nothing about parachutes and base jumping and choose to make a jump in poor conditions that partially collapse your canopy, that is 100% pilot error. It was also probably 100% pure luck that he didn't get hurt far worse. I guess when you see who's "teaching" him, luck is the primary factor.
  12. 914: Is a broken leg and ICU no harm, no foul? You are saying that because the marine death camper didn't get severely injured or die when he froze up and hit the wall, that proves that death camping is a good idea? Teaching youth with no parachuting experience that a serious, life changing and life thretening sport is just a good time is ignorant at best, immoral at worst. Are you suggesting that these kids would all just jump the bridge and not scurry out to other onjects that they have no business jumping? Is their "teacher" going to be responsibe for their actions, and follow to keep them on the good, clean fun path? Just becasue people are going to get hurt in dangerous sports does not give others the right to place others unreasonably into harms way. How do you define a good role model for kids? Hard working, educated, ethical, looks out for the best interests of others, selfless? Kudos to those who had the guts to stand up and educate College of Southern Idaho. Its been a long time coming but its about time that the mature, responsible adults who comprise 98% of this sport step up and take back the honor stolen buy the childish antics of the few. 610
  13. Way to go! Take a million pictures cause that first year flies by!
  14. I don't know about ZP. but I have seen base canopies in the past that were made of camo material. (f111).
  15. Maybe what we are missing here is that myspace is all a bunch of losers with made up on-lined "lives ". Maybe they are all just a bunch of Sims, and the laugh is on us. OK, probably not, please post some results of the fishing expeditions. Cya
  16. You guys are going to have fun with this one. Please, please post whatever you do. It will surely be the funniest shit on here this year.

Hey Yuri, I wateched your go and throw at the Perrine last Monday. Even with a slight head wind you opened into a stall and were sliding backwards. Fix your DBS before you jump anything solid or you will certainly back into whatever you just jumped off. Tried to catch you in town but you had left. Cya
  18. Hey Kris, Actually it is 9', end to end, but as was pointed out by friends, they want 9' to the first pin, so I do build them like that now. I still have my 9' total length bridle, and happily continue to jump it, but if there are any of the other ones out there that people want replaced, they can ask and I'll make a 9' to the pin, gratis of course. Good eye Kris. Do you know why the bridle is 9' long? (Hint, it isn't the burble). Got to go, heding out on base trip for weekend. Have a good one. Cya
  19. I recall the incident. If I am not correct, someone please correct me as I don't want to spread inaccurate info, but Gargoyle (Morpheus) uses the standard skydiving type riser (non integrity). AFIK, that is the only incident of the white loop ever breaking in base. I saw the pics of those risers and wonderd if having the loop being exposed caused friction wear while packing. To Dan, If all this has you worried, even though I did not sell you that kit, I'll buy your risers back and you can purchase others. I need a set for my newest rig anyhow. Cya
  20. Hi Marty, It must just be the way it is photographed, because the riser is built to the RWS spec sheet for the rings (I bought a copy from RWS), and the integrity webbing tab & grommet/loop setup is identical to the CR/Perigee Pro risers I've jumped for 6 years. I notice that a lot of mfgs. are using standard skydiving (non-integrity) risers these days, and while they are easier to build, and certainly strong enough, I prefer the integrity setups if for no other reason, the loop is not exposed.
  21. Hey RedDevil, I built that rig, and the rings are mil spec, exactly the same as used on TSo's skydiving rigs. For your own piece of mind you can check out the supplier at: http://djassociates.thomasnet.com/viewitems/military-hardware/harness-rings?&forward=1 If you have further questions send me a PM or give me a call. 22. "I don't have time to reply to anything till Firday night or Saturday" Man, what will everyone do with their spare time, and how will we get by until then. Just kidding..... a little
  23. Same trick, but I made a strap with velcro to keep the PC compressed. I don't find a racer any harder than anything else. just uglier.
  24. 28 in 1998 Solo on big bridge with borrowed gear.
