  1. It would be nice with a turbine conversion. Buzz
  2. Diverdriver, What about the jump run speed on the 1900? I owned a Beech99 and I understand the new model, the 1900, is much faster. Buzz
  3. It takes as long as it takes to give the packer $5. Buzz
  4. My parents hated it. The only time my dad saw me jump was at my (skydiving) wedding. He finnaly accepted the fact that his dislike of my sport would not change things so he eventually accepted it. Buzz
  5. Thanks. That makes sense. I will ask my agent in regards to the communist state of California. Buzz
  6. QuoteAn important issue is called INCONTESTABILITY. The law says that when you buy life insurance, the insurance co. has three years (usually) to investigate you and find out if you lied to them about anything. Once the three years are up, they had their chance and they're stuck with you - so long as you keep up with your premiums.>>>> Is it three years or two years? I think it is two years. Buzz
  7. The D number is not accurate. It belongs to a lady in the mountain region. Blue Skies! Buzz
  8. Jimbo, That statement says it all! Very well put! Buzz
  9. Bill Booth wrote: (I hate lawyers, but what are you going to do? They're everywhere, and they've got big BMW payments to make.) Hey, Bill. Don't insult BMW owners by associating them with lawyers. Buzz
  10. 5 Stars to Skydiving Magazine. They don't have to be "politically correct". They tell it like it is. Go Mike! Buzz
  11. I agree. We participate in the 1800skyride program and are very happy. They perform their own marketing at their own expense, they pay for the overhead, they pay for the phonelines, accounting, office rent, etc. They sell the jumps at a price which recovers their expenses and makes them a profit. That's business and it was a good idea someone had. If they severely overcharged their customers, the customers would not pay. There are far more important things in skydiving to get upset about. 12. Sorry. That is not the big question. The big question is what the passengers harness is rated for. I believe all systems are rated for around 254 pounds for the passenger harness. That violates the TSO rating for the system. Specifically, the harness. Don't get me wrong. I'm not throwing stones. About 9 years ago our DZ took up a 275 pound person. We were not aware of the harness limit. Now we are. Take this as I did. A lesson learned. Blue Skies! Buzz
  13. Call Ed Scott at USPA. 703-836-3495 ext 325 If anyone has access to one, it's Ed. Blue Skies! Buzz

  16. How about a video of him landing it. Buzz
  17. Thanks for the nice comments. As for "Bo", when she removed the dreadlocks, she found she removed a good deal of hair too! Wow. See you at the DZ. Blue Skies! Buzz
  18. Actually, we are repsonsible for scheduling. I added "with occassional weekend scheduling" to cover any eventuality of prolonged bad weather and the need to finish the course. Thanks! Buzz
  19. If anyone knows of any good riggers looking for full time employment, have them check out www.militaryfreefall.com. Air Adventures Skydiving, Inc. is hiring a total of 4 fulltime senior or master riggers to fullfill a military contract. Best of all, work is Monday through Friday with weekends off. Blue Skies! Buzz
  20. Back in the old days (how we survived I'll never know), OK, it was the mid eighties, we regularly did Para-towing with a Manta. Only a couple of incidents. One was an alcohol induced night paratow. The jumper, who shall remain nameless (AC), wore several chem lights. As I recall, the takeoff went fine....for the first few seconds. The all we saw was light dark laight dark light dark as he tumbled down the runway (dirt). Luckily, he was not hurt. Another guy did a paratow for almost two miles down Otay Lakes Road. The drove the site first to make sure there were no powerlines and where the outs were. They video taped it too. Even though it worked out, not the brightest idea. Buzz Fink
  21. I have heard of several different ways this can be done. I think it is very do-able. I know it has been discussed by the BoD but do not know what the outcome was. When I find out more, I will post it. Thanks and Blue Skies! Alan "Buzz" Fink
  22. Only a few more days left to vote. Regardless of who you choose to vote for, don't let the hussle and bussle of the holiday cause you to forget to vote. Blue Skies! Alan "Buzz" Fink
