  1. Sounds like one of the older Infinities. I have one (DOM 01 97) and you are right about the bridle exposure and tuck tabs. I think that the new ones are improved and do not have the same problems (key words here are 'I think' because I have only seen pictures) Flying Hellfish #470
  2. i use www.411.ca all the time. its easier than a phone book and does the same thing. It also has a reverse lookup and only works for listed numbers. When you use reverse lookup, you can get a detailed map to the house you looked up. Of course this is only a Canadian site and only has Canadian numbers. Flying Hellfish #470
  3. I had stability problems on exit during my pff as well. I found that the best way to stay in a proper relaxed arch was to watch the plane. When you exit, look up at the aircraft untill you can't see it anymore because your head won't tilt far enough. It is a very cool thing to see the plane flying away from you and it worked for me. 5. I too know about the mustang V8 trouble. no pics for you cause I am at school now. I guess you don't need a powerfull car to get yourself in deep though. I was a a cousin's home and we were driving around his feild in some beater cars we had. Mine was a Mazda B2000, his was a Hyundai Excel. He decided he would take his car onto the street at the end of his laneway to see if I would spin the tires on dry pavement. Well it spun the tires believe it or not and we weren't the only ones to witness this feat of 4cyl. power.lol. Some cop pulls out of the neighbours driveway and chases my cousin back into the field. Here is the list of fines: no insurance: $5000 no liscence (my cousin was 15): future liscence suspension plus $250 no plates: $110 Unnecessary noise: $110 Reckless driving: $110 Needless to say, he had to go to court and was only fined $250. He got lucky! Flying Hellfish #470
  6. Thanks for all of the responses. I have been taking allegra D for a few years now. Since I started skydiving, I was concerned about the blood pressure thing but it sounds like it won't be a problem. Flying Hellfish #470
  7. I have the common summer hayfever as well as dog and cat allergies. I need to take some sort of medication for it but don't know what is safe for skydiving. I realize that it must be non drowsy but I have heard that decongestants can negatively affect blood pressure at altitude. There is non drowsy allergy medication available without decongestants but they don't work all that well for me. Are decongestants unsafe? Is there something that you can reccomend? I have gone to the doctors already and I have normal blood pressure but my doc doesn't know much about aviation medicine. Flying Hellfish #470
  8. Wow. The thing I liked best about that landing picture was the DZ. Thats where I made my first jump, and where I continue to jump today (well I'm still a student). GBSPC is still very much a small dz and I do wait all day to make just a few jumps out of a C182 but I love it just the same. Flying Hellfish #470
  9. Here is our DZ's cat Archie freeflying to impress the ladies. He uses a 10sq foot eliptical loaded at 1.5:1 and always lands on his feet after a long swoop! www.cool-points.com/archie%20headdown.jpg Flying Hellfish #470
  10. its on TBS Superstation. Flying Hellfish #470
  11. its on the 19th for sure. Flying Hellfish #470
  12. Another good one that I get a lot when I ask if a whuffo wants to make their first skydive (PFF): whuffo:"You mean I can't go by myself?" I've also seen students who want to wear a camera helmet on their first jump. then there is the classic ones where they ask if I can skysurf yet (at 13 jumps). When I got my new gear, a couple of my whuffo buddies wanted me to jump off of my house and use my chute. I tried and tried but I couldn't explain that a chute can take about 700ft to open. this list could go on and on Flying Hellfish #470
  13. I also love this one: "So what happens when your chute doesn't open?" My response: "Well you cut it away and deploy your reserve chute." They say: "Isn't it kinda hard to use a knife to cut the lines when that happens?" Flying Hellfish #470
  14. I might leave some out by mistake...here goes: C-182 Beat that! Results of no liscence yet, and a small DZ in Canada. Its gonna cost me a lot o beer to catch up to you people. Flying Hellfish #470
  15. I don't smoke, but the smokers in the city where I live (London, On) are kinda upset. We have a new bylaw that prohibits smoking in all indoor public places. (includes bars, restaurants...). Its implemented as of July 1st 03. Will be interesting to see what the bars are like after that! I will enjoy it though since I will be able to go to a bar on fri night without taking 3 years off my life. Flying Hellfish #470
  16. I can't make myself jump off of a 25ft cliff into water but I sure can jump out of a plane at 11 grand! Flying Hellfish #470
  17. One C-182 One Islander (only when a pilot is available) never really jumped from other planes so I guess I don't know what I'm missing yet. Flying Hellfish #470

    Size ???

I have recently purchased a used Infinity. I asked Kelly about the size adjustment. He told me that he would lengthen the main lift webbing if needed for $75. I never actually needed it done but that seems like a very good price to me. Flying Hellfish #470
  19. 1. Saw the piano in half put the two halves together to make a whole, and climb through the (w)hole. 2. Ditto but with the bat. 3. Hit the piano with the bat to shake loose a key, then unlock the door with the key. I fact, she didn't need the saw - she could have hit her toe with the bat to make it a little sore, and used that saw. ANd having got out of the room, she should shout enough to make herself a little hoarse, and ride away on it. impressive... she can also swing the bat 3 times, so three strikes, shes out. last she can run around and around the room until she wears herself out. Flying Hellfish #470
  20. A girl is locked in a room. In the room there is a only baseball bat, a piano, and a saw. This girl was clever enough to find three different ways out of the room by using these items. What are the three ways out? Flying Hellfish #470
  21. I did my OAC (gr 13 in Ontario) physics project on Skydiving. I did my first pff jump and showed the video to the class and talked about the physics of freefall etc. Now i'm hooked on skydiving so I can say that this was the best project I have ever done in my life! Flying Hellfish #470
  22. a termite walks into a bar and asks: "Is the bartender here?" get it? bar tender? Ha Ha Ha.....ummmmmm how do you get pikachu onto a bus? Pokemon! Flying Hellfish #470
  23. I'm in London, Ontario. I jump at Grand Bend SPC. They do a few loads in the winter but it is usually too cloudy since the DZ is very close to Lake Huron (great view though!). Flying Hellfish #470
  24. if you are worried, I am light. The canopy will be loaded at 1:1. I asked around at my DZ and they all suggested I get a 150. I will be very careful of course. I am getting my jumpmaster to try out the rig first for me. After that, I will jump it and will use a radio in my helmet so he can help me out. My jm has over 10 000 jumps and I have alot of faith in him. I will definately be conservative. Flying Hellfish #470
  25. I just bought a used rig. (the one that comes before the second). I haven't jumped it yet. It is an Infinity container with a tempo 150 and a Silhouette 150 (DOMs all 97). It only has 50 jumps on it and it looks brand new. It has collapsable PC, BOC, dive loops, and a cypress. I can't wait till the spring! Flying Hellfish #470
