  1. Thanks, I figured that would be about right
  2. ok, I am adding up the weight of my rig here using shipping weights given on gear store websites: Silhouette 150: 8 lbs Tempo 150: 7 lbs Cypres: 1.5 lbs But I don't know how much my container weighs. It is an Infinity designed to fit the above canopies. It isn't articulated, it has mini rings, and a standard D style reserve handle. Oh, and it's BOC. Anyone know approximately what this would weigh? Flying Hellfish #470
  3. I really like this one. Taken by freeflyanvil (Dave Cvetanovski) at the Richmond Boogie 2003. Flying Hellfish #470
  4. edit to say: pilot dave posted the same thing while I was typing this. oh well. There's no such thing as centrifugal force. It's just something that people make up to help them understand centripital force. If you think about it, this is true. What could possibly be pulling you away from the canopy when you are spinning? nothing. You body has the tendancy to travel in a line perpendicular to the direction of centripital force. This causes the feeling of a downward force (centrifugal) that isn't actrually there
  5. Ok all you guys, this was meant to be a joke, and I didn't write it either (just got it in my e-mail). Take it for what its worth. But I still can't help myself here: Actually this game (in Beachville ONtario) pre dates the one you posted:http://www.ocl.net/projects/beachvillem/baseball.shtml Alright I knew that but being invented by a Canuk is good enough for me
  6. Oh ya, almost forgot. Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world (USA isn't first for all who don't know that). Flying Hellfish #470

In the war of 1812, started by America, Canadians pushed the Americans back...past their 'White House'. Then we burned it...and most of Washington, under the command of William Lyon MaKenzie King who was insane and hammered all the time. We got bored because they ran away, so we came home and partied...Go figure. 12. Canada has the largest French population that never surrendered to Germany. 13. We have the largest English population that never ever surrendered or withdrew during any war to anyone. Anywhere. EVER. 14. Our civil war was fought in a bar and it lasted a little over an hour. 15. The only person who was arrested in our civil war was an American mercenary, who slept in and missed the whole thing... but showed up just in time to get caught. 16. 8. Double fronts has worked for me before. The winds were strong but steady (not gusting). In full flight I was coming straight down above a fence and was at about 100'. I applied some front riser pressure (only pulled 2-3") and moved about 10-15' past the fence. I released the front risers by about 50' and landed safely (not on the fence). I jump a silhouette 150 loaded at 1.1 Flying Hellfish #470
  9. I wear contacts and never had a problem. I wear mini flex-z goggles and they never come off
  10. I am very light and fall slow (150lbs, 6'2"). When it comes to breakoff time, my track is usually flatter than other peoples and I can see everybody below me. This way I can make sure that I have enough seperation from everyone just by looking down and behind. However, some of the other skydivers on these jumps have expressed concern because they can't see me easily. Should I try to track more at their level, or not worry about it? I guess they might feel nervous because they are putting more trust in me if I am above but what do you think? Flying Hellfish #470
  11. I jump a Sil 150 and have just over 100 jumps on it. The only other canopies that I have jumped are the Sabre and Sabre 2. I bought the Sil used and it had about 50 jumps on it at the time. I load this canopy at 1.13:1 (about what you are planning)and it flies nicely providing fast turns and soft landings. I am still happy with this canopy and will probably keep it for about 100 more jumps before I downsize. Retail value may be an issue but I bought it used so it was cheap to start with. Let us know what you decide
  12. You can order it rushed (15 working days) for $30 extra. Mine arrived at my door exactly on 15 days. I think they had it done in about 10 days. Regular wait time is about 8 weeks. I had to get it rushed so I could have it for Florida next month. Flying Hellfish #470
  13. Sweet! When I do buy a new rig it will look something like that for sure. I bought this one used a while ago so I didn't have much choice. Flying Hellfish #470
  14. Well, thats the part that kinda sucks. I am in Canada and our last weekend of jumping for the year has just passed (the DZO has gone to California). However, I will be going to Florida to do some jumping around Christmas time
  15. In due time my friend. I think wingsuits are very cool and when I have enough jumps, I will be trying one out for sure! Flying Hellfish #470
  16. Its a Freak-n-Suit. So far I am very happy with it. I can't wait to try it out! What do you think? Flying Hellfish #470
  17. This is the best dropzone I have been to so far. The people at Skydive Tecumseh are incredible. There are plenty of very experienced freeflyers and swoopers (Sporto and Marshall for example) and lots of great belly flyers too. The twin otter they have is the fastest otter anywhere and has an excellent pilot. What everyone else says about the bon fires and parties is true they are a blast! If you are visiting the area be sure to stop by, I know I will be making the short trip across the border from Canada a lot more often next year.
  18. What about Skyventure? Someone has to be bringing in some serious cash for that. I am not sure who, or if he/she is even a skydiver. Does anyone know anything about this? Flying Hellfish #470
  19. Went to the DZ last saturday along with 4 other skydivers. Low clouds all day so we did H+Ps. Its the end of the season in Canada and we don't get much good weather in November so we all really wanted to jump no matter what. Altitudes ranged from 2800' to 4000' and we had a blast. The other good thing about H+Ps especially on a cessna DZ is the short climb to altitude. We took off, jumped, packed and took off again inside 1/2hr. Where regular turnaround times for the plane to 12000' at our DZ are 1/2hr. Flying Hellfish #470
  20. The DZO at my home DZ made his own mal video. He told us how he just couldn't cause a baglock mal. He tried looping line stows through each other, knotting them up....none of it worked and the d-bag just kept opening up. So he resorted to some good old duct tape and it worked! (or didn't work...you get the idea). Flying Hellfish #470
  21. Not like this thread has been hijacked enough...oh well...here goes. Hey....I'm gonna be there! I'm coming all the way from London, On, Canada. I sure hope its warmer in Tecumseh....its like 3hrs south. Seriously though, I can't wait. Flying Hellfish #470
