Ratings and Rigging

  1. I repeated a lot of levels, don't use the word fail. The key is " relaxing", some people can start relaxing early on, others take longer to settle in. It took me longer. But if you keep jumping it will happen. Crap students have turned into great jumpers. And one day you could be advising others. Eddy.

    Size ???

yes it's and Infinity, with a 169 main and a 220 reserve. It's my very first rig. I have ten days to make my mind up. I've noticed that the leg straps don't have any extra padding, like the student rig which had padding that I could adjust, so the straps might crease and seeing as they take alot of weight on openings this could be painfull. What I driving at about the sizeing is, of the shelf rigs how do you find your size, without trying on first?. Thanks eddy

    Size ???

Size? I have just brought a rig from the states, and it has size I 55, what does this size refer to ?. thanks eddy
  4. Music for tandems, what are your best music tracks that add to the atmoshere and excitement of tandems, ie kitting up, the flight up, exit, freefall. As I think the music can add a great deal to the end result of tandem videos.

    videos

Hi, does anyone know where I can get hold of a video containing things that go wrong, ie students out of control, tandems not going to plan ect. but all ending happily, I'am not sick , but would be interested to see why they went wrong, what was done to correct anything, if anything was done to help. Thanks eddy.
  7. Thanks for all your help, I have had a great instructor and he's told me everything I've got to do, sometimes there's only been two of us jumping so we've had lots of room in the plane, keep watching the plane and me as I follow you , one of my dive exits I managed to hold stable on, the other yes more leg kicking, but I know on my poised exit I have to present my arch to the prop blast, thats just it I know what i've got to do, I 've had four goes so far, but I won't be beaten. My poor instructor just sits there scratching his head when we get down. Eddy
  8. I have just spent a week at a drop zone and have left being stuck on stage 8, and the only thing I have'nt been able to do on stage 8 is a good exit and to hold it, which I know is a must for stage 9 the drop & pop because of the low altitude. But I think my problem may have started when I did my first solo exit, up until then I have had people around me which has made me feel safe. I just could'nt read my chest altimeter on my first solo easily which did'nt help either and after acouple more jumps wore a wrist one which I've found better, but looking at the videos I'm rocking back and fourth during freefall, I've been told to relax more, but jumping out of a plane at twelve grand on your own, it's easier said than done. I do so much want to carry on, can anyone advise. Thanks Eddy.
  9. I did a tandem afew weeks ago, and felt abit rough afterwards, ps I also thought your all just a bunch of fruitcakes. But as the days ticked by, I felt myself being drawn back to having another go. So with some advise from someone I changed to a smaller club, where I felt they had the time to teach . So I but my name down to start the AFF. I spent all friday night in class, very lucky one to one. Then went back up Saturday morning, as it turned out the wind picked up, so I had all day to think about doing a runner, mine would be the last jump of the day.I almost thought about doing a tandem as the longer I waited the more I thought. Then came the words came that I knew would send my guts spinning, kit on. I kept telling myself to do a good exit, and arch and the rest will come. This would be my last chance, if it went badly I'd walk away and not look back, I'd had ago at least. I was told the Exit was good, I felt the freefall went on forever, I did all that was asked of me. After a drink in the club I said goodbuy to everyone, " I'll see you tomorrow", and on Sunday I did the 2 & 3 stage. Thanks Edd
  10. Hi All, I've just taken my first tandem jump at 12,000, as I want to do a AFF my instructer gave me some drills to do. But I have to say my brain and body just could'nt do the drills, plus I felt some motion sickness. So all in all I landed feeling abit rough. Will this pass as I so much want to carry on. Eddy.
