  1. well to be realistic, i have thought about this sort of situation lots, i am sure we all have, lots of scenarios go through your head when sleeping in on a raining weekend. With all my heart, i dont care who it is, i would really like to think i would, but being realistic, i would put some effort into this but really doubt that i have the experience to pull it off, even with the experience i doubt that i could do it considering they will probably be in a viloent uncontrollable spin/tumble. I would like to think i would go as far as 700 feet with an aad to try saving them but no that i would only go to 1500 feet max. @ reasons i would only go this low is because, i want to pull my main at 1500 minimum, cause i still want the chance to be able to pull out a reserve if i need it and also think that if i was chasing someone i would be pulling at a high speed when i reach 1500ft, so it could be very likely that i would need a reserve after this. Other reason is in this situation you would be shaking in your boots with all the varibles going on, i.e. ditter screaming in your ear, watching a mate going in, high speed at low alttitude, out of comfort zone, not being able to keep an eye on your alti and your ditter is already bailing. So realisticaly, i doubt i could do much that can help below 2000ft. i wish i could though. This is my opinion and you have balls putting a post like this up. blue skies. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  2. at a couple of dz's in new zealand, if you are freeflying you must wear to audibles. now when i heard this as a student i thought that made sense, now i can't figure it out. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  3. yeah good point bu ti am not looking at it like that....not everything always works and it is a way of life. but however it is a back up. no one should ever say to a student to rely on their ditter. as a student you have to have a cypres but no-one says 'oh dont worry be reasured the cypres will fire'. i think students should have an alti on their chest maybe as well as one on their wrist, a ditter and a cypres. Now there is reasurance. buit you cant dismiss a ditter because it might not work or slide up in the helmet or not hear it. Some might say it is to much for a student to take in but come on we are talking about jumping out of a plane. there is alot to worry about and i dont understand how a ditter could be a problem. some people learn on one pull system others learn on two pull system......some would say two pull system is too much to take in. there are alot of what if's in skydiving but if a student is not ready to do level one and understand ALL the equipment, well their instructor should not let them jump until they do understand why everything is their. just my opinion though and i am aware i am not an instructor before anyone points that fact out. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  4. can some one tell me please where you can jump in hampshire uk? is there a dropzone down there? if so do you have a website? blueskies .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  5. gee...skydiving is boring full stop. up...down...up....down...up......down....up....down....u...oh now i am broke..................still no money...............damn whats the point .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  6. i always thought ditters were essential, especially when it comes to learning freefall! damn, how can you forget to pull when you got one bailing in your ear. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  7. in the designers defence, i remember when it first hit the news that this company was to design a plane especially for skydiving. i do belive it iwas designed for tandems. new zealand is one big tandem factory and i can see why they would design it for tandem purposes putting sport jumpers to the side for this plane. but this is just what i hear on the new zealand national news and my dz owner. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

skymama, do you think banner or sponsoring a forum? thanks for all responses though. i am thinking the banner though because it stands out and if there is a new banner i am sure most would click on it to see what is happening. right?? .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

    advertising

before our dz commits to some advertising on dz.com, i am trying to advertise skydive packages in nz. can i get some input please. i am wanting to know what publication in the states is read the most(skydiving) and if you guys ever click on banners in the dropzone.com forums. if so would banner advertising be more efective than sponsoring events and places to jump? if you guys can help me with this decision that would be great. thanks, Bigway.

  14. as towerat said, you will get bored of it, but that's not saying it is not good for you to do some solos every now and then. good to hear you are so into perfecting your body position at pull time. I know it is good to get away from being with an instuctor all the time but wait until you jump with your mate and just chase each other around the sky. The next thing you will get off on is practising fall rates with a buddy. I will do a solo when i am hung over, or feeling down as the rush of air is all i concentrate on then and it puts life back into me. just a hint though, dont let other jumpers that you learnt with get too far ahead of you with rel work while you are doing solo's or you might find it hard to learn rel work unless you do coach jumps. jumping with others is where i get the adrenaline from, nothing is better than when you pull of a great dive with your mates. That is where the adrenaline kicks in. Good to hear you are so keen on practising being safe though.
  15. WOW....what can you say to that? .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  16. i belive it to be a myth as my jumpmaster said this to me when i was a student on my first day and have heard many wuffos ask me this before. but the guy was not on a 4-way, i think he was an aff indtructor or something....... who's knows, could be true, i am interested in finding out how many things my jumpmaster said to me just to make me keep my head screwed on. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  17. well i have been reading alot of what you guys say about this plane as i am from new zealand and us kiwis have alot of pride when it comes to new zealand products being exported. I have never been in or up close to the PAC-750 so i really dont know how this plane fly's or anything. But i hear you all saying this plane was designed for skydiving, well i know it is a purpose built plane for skydiving but waht sort of skydiving? well you know we have commercial skydiving and sport skydiving... I am under the understanding from dz owners in new zealand that this plane is for tandems and is not for sport skydivers. Aparently it is a plane that will stall when stacked. i asked my dz owner about this aircraft and was told that it is useless for stacking and people hanging out the doors as it will just stall. they say it is a plane that you need to exit out of fast. I am just wondering what jumpers are thinking and if it really should be looked as a ship for 4-ways and flocking dives e.t.c. Or if it really is just a tandem jump ship. As i have said, i have never seen this plane or jumped from it, i just want to know if people think this planes purpose is for commercial tandems as we are told here. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  18. well io have told him it i know it is a scam. he writes back and says to me, he does not want what i am selling just the change. i said to him will the cheque clear? he says if he gives me a bank cashiers cheque from the uk i can cash it after verifiying it if i wish and i have to send him 2500 pounds back to him through a western union. I belive this will cash as he is taking serious measures to find out who i am. i tell you what guys if i was single.....i am leaving this side of the world next week. man, that's a lot of money....a lot of jumps, but..... i think i prefer jumping out of planes as to jumping out of bed in prison every night. If anyone wants to read my correspondence with him just pm me and i will forward you the email. blues skies. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  19. would the cheque cash legally, cause i got this guy knocking at my door with a £5000uk pound casheirs cheque on offer. thats alot of jumps man .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  20. i thin it is about how you look at it. If published incidents bring more buissness well that can be good and bad for all the stupid questions us jumpers get the next day at work, like we were there or something. Movies, well i doubt i would have ever heard of skydiving if it was not for the movies or television. i mean who would have?? I dont belive a good skydiving movie will bring the masses because not everyone can be prepared to turn up to a dropzone and pay a couple of grand to learn. But the few it does bring, well that's cool, you get good buissness and good entertainment with the new fresh dumbass hollywood questions. People at work or where ever ask me about catching up to parachutes and theses stupid questions well i have given up explaining why it is not possible or why you would not ry it, i have now started just going along with it. I think in this bullshit world of media this country the uk, really fucks skydiving up the ass with all there stupid print. but any other sort of publicity in the long run has to be good for skydiving, i mean..... how many of us would have ever heard of skydiving if it was not for point break or extreme tv shows?? I am still training to be keanu reeves. i can even nearly stand up on a surf board, then i am going to rob a bank and apply to be an undercover cop, but before i do i will prove to my surfing mates how i am worthy and open my parachute at 100 feet. now that sounds like an exciting 2 hours of tv. Hollywood is fantastic for the commercial side of our sport, you know the side that keeps our drop zones open and the movie star wannabe's that put money in our pockets to do the real keanu reeves stuff!

  25. good stuff south africa. Shame about the people though .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
