  3. And we are sure they will. enjoy president! .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  4. you are a funny bloke mate, You should be concentrating on finishing AFF before jumping out of your own plane and landing in your back garden though. Man real tv would love that footage, but the FAA might pay more for it. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  5. I think she might have been letting you know that students should know the size of their equipment, just like us guys like to know. It is naturall. lol. But yes it did end naturally. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  6. LOL..LOL...oh president...i cant wait for your next question. I belive you are not a troll. I think you are probably more like a reporter on what skydivers know or you are investigating or a college student doing some sort of assignment on something to do with all this..This is not me trying to hassle you but i and many others i am sure are looking forward to your next post. What if you jumped from a dropzone but deployed your parachute at 12,000ft and fly home and land in your back yard? maybe this will only be classed as a off dz landing and you will get away with it? You could save petrol... Or maybe not! Keep em coming President. Do you take after bush? .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

  10. Yeah Dave it probably is not a rule about jumping the same equipment but to memory in The nzpf new zealand parachute rules, ( maybe it was just advised) or maybe it was just said to me but i think i remember it in writing saying that you must familiarise yourself with your equipment. I also think it sai.....ah actually i know what i am remembering and it is when i did a high alttitude course. this is where it says you must jump the equipment you are familiar with and usually jump. So it is not a written rule, but it is an unspoken rule. I know i dont need to argue with this guy but i am glad i did. He is doing something about it. On the note that you did not know your the size of your canopies, well you should have, even if it meant nothing to you. This is what log books are for....where it says equipment for this jump, or what ever yours says, you write the container and the make and size of your main. You only know what your instructors choose to tell you, well students ask alot of questions here in the forums, i think they should be asking half these questions to their instructors. You would think when you start learning how to jump you waould want to know how big your reserve parachute is? You can all tell me that this does not matter....but it does!. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  11. president, what is your name? maybe someone from byron here knows you and can give you some advice in person when they next see you at the dz. They might be able to explain in person how safety comes first. I know it is easier to verbally talk about pros and cons in person that the forums. Just know, there are no cons about knowing your equipment or jumping the same gear.....they are all positive unwritten rule, or in some countries written rules of skydiving. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  12. yes fair enough, you dont need me saying that and i apologise. ...but president i told you it was important that you know your canopy size, you did not ask a question instead you responded that it does not matter for you what the size of your canopy is...you said they are all close enough, and it does not matter what size your reserve is...well, it does, and you need to know, and not switch gear every jump. You saying this really got me going. so my apology and i will edit my rude, pissed off in the moment comments of abuse. But speak to an instructor, dont learn from the internet, until you know your basics. I have had a couple of pm's from other students thanking me for flaming you. they did not want to because they feel like their jump numbers do not hold up but you need to know that safety and knowledge of your equipment is more important than posting on the net. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  13. QuoteHello, Bigway, HELLO !!! Anybody home ? Tell me how is your posting any relevant to AFF vs Tandem ??? I don't think with my 8 jumps knowing exactly how many square feet my canopy is makes any difference to me. With either size this canopy is very benign and easy to navigate, that's all I care about at this point. Plus, there's no guarantee I get the same size each time I jump - I just grab whatever's available. When I buy my own I'll know what I have. Now when I put the rig on nobody even knows exactly what color it is, to say nothing about size. And I couldn't care less - all I care about is that it is a student rig, period. I'll handle it whatever size it happens to be. As to logbook entries - student logbook doesn't have an entry for size, plus my JMs never fill the equipment line anyway, only harness size (M,S or L) The only really important info in a student logbook is progression - so next time instructor doesn't have to guess who you are. As to safety: again, tell me how knowing my reserve size change anything in the emergency procedures ? I don't give a damn how big it is - I know my handles, I know it is there and I checked the FAA seal, that's it. prsident....you either a troll or one ignorant person. If you took this post to a drop zone safety officer or a chief safety officer, it would be a pretty safe bet that you would be grounded until you realised what you are saying. What you are saying to me...maybe you do not realise it yet but....you are saying that you do not give a damn about safety, your life or the dropzone where you jump. I am not trying to be an asshole to you but i feel like i am sure others that you are disrespecting all the valuable time that your instructors have put in to you. You would not be allowed to jump at my dropzone with that sort of attitude. I dont care how many jumps i have as i am waiting for you to play that card but, i knew before i went up for level one AFF that i had to know exactly what was on my back and have some insight into the equipment i was putting on to save my life. You dont wait to find this out, you look after your self....You are a student who is sitting here telling us that wing loadings do not mean shit and everything we all value for our safety means shit. You are saying that 3 parachutes are better than one when you are learning....well you should not even be at the stage where you get to put a parachute on your back. I read these posts and listen to things students say as it is interesting, i also learn from people with less jumps than me and more. Most students sit in this forum and give each other moral support and tell each other that they all felt the same, this is a great thing, but you....you are sitting here saying that tandems are better because there are three p[arachutes, you are saying you do not need to know what size your canopy or reserve is and worse you are saying it is okay to use different equipment every time you jump...well I wish i could say to you what i think of you but i think to be this ignorant you are a troll and am winding me up. If you are for real....give up skydiving before you kill yourself, this sport is not for you!. Peace before i get flamed, well i am just saying what need to be said to this ignorant ...... Sorry, maybe i should not call you a ......, but dude go to an instructor and have a sit down, say to him/her what you have said to me and ask them if you need to change your thinking or is what you saying safe. You are dangerous to yourself and maybe another jumper. I hope you are not doing solos yet. AH...fu.k it, you are just trying to get a reaction and you have got one.
  14. President, you aint doing very good are you.. So if you are a student and do not know what canopy is above your head, while at the same time saying that aff is safer than tandems proggression....do you know what size your reserve is or what that red handle pulls. My god what do you write in your log book for your canopy size?....State of the art navigator 290'? Pay attention, you have seen the label that says navigator while packing......do you ask questions from your instructors of is the manifestor teaching you skydiving? Get it togethor man......It seems to me that you have answered your own question, Why tandems before AFF?.....well a tandem master knows what he is doing and a tandem master knows his equipment, this seems to me to be a very important part of skydiving. You are getting on the internet and sounding like a troll who phones up the manifestor to see what sort of equipment he has. She told you wrong so now you check on the pd web site and guess out of the sizes they display? Did you not learn anything in AFF training? do you know how many cells your canopy has? Mate if you are for real with all these statements you are putting out.....go and learn all about your gear cause right now it sounds a hell of alot safer to do a tandem first, and i was for straight to AFF before you posted this...You have converted me without even trying....or maybe you are trying..president of the trolls .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  15. I do marketing for a dz in new zealand and am currently in the Uk offering packages to learn to skydive in new zealand by flying to new zealand and back doing the aff course for 100 pounds cheaper than it is to do it here. Sounds good but i am a traveller and do this on my own expense, i have great packages to offer and you would think i could live of this......but.......i also work a 70 hour week in a pub. Back home when marketing, i also need to do camera or pack. I can offer 200 jump packages for cheaper than anywhere i know of in the world but the reality is...well i belive....you can not make a living of this so i am not trying to. I belive the only way to make a living of this is to be employed by a dz as a full time marketing manager with a salary. There are under half a million people that skydive as a sport in the world. Most people that do tandems in my country come from organised tour operators that are well established and take 15-20% commission per jumper. I belive if you have a passion for getting other people to skydive like i do, a way to see this through is to bring ideas to a dz for a year while working elswhere and prove that you can bring 1000 jumpers a year (tandems or students) and take commission and then ask for a marketing position in the company. Or , get your jump numbers up and teach students. The reality is a lot of people get by working in the industry and it is not easy to get enough people to skydive that do not already want to do it. I offer packages that make skydiving affordable and even give free accomodation and beer but only sell these packages on average one every couple of weeks. Good luck and maybe you will find what you are looking for in the states but realise you will need around a 1000 new jumpers a year to make enough to live of( working on a 15% commission) .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  16. i think to a whuffo skydiving sounds expensive..how about putting in a price range just to give people an idea that you can actually afford to do this. Looks great though
  17. president, i agree you should shut up with the ratio you keep coming up with as to aff vs. tandem and how many rigs per jump! I am for AFF personally but you do not need to rubbish tandem proggression. For instance, yes you have a rig each in AFF but so what......? what about when the canopy is open and you are under radio control for landing but the radio f%^£$ out? or the spot was wrong? In this situation it is all up to you...a guy who has no experience what so ever under the canopy. Yes you should no your emegency procedure, but on your first jump is it possible you might freak out with no radio and complete silence under canopy 3000ft high on your first jump not understanding turbulance and flying into wind properly yet? All these problems could be alot easier for you to handle or understand if you first do a tandem so you know the feeling of hanging all on your own by 2 straps and let someone else do the worrying. I know i would get shaken up as a student when flying into some turbulance or when my radio did not work and i landed 500 meters of the PLA. Something for you to think about. Enjoy electing your new president this year. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  18. you have confused me....why would someone on 8 jumps be jumping a 150 main? also where do tandems jump 270mains? i thought it was pretty normal to be jumping a 260-290 main as a student? Why would you suggest a student to be jumping a 150 already? if your post was sarcasim because you think he is PRESIDENT of the trolls....then i can understand, but otherwise are you sure you meant what you wrote? Please explain why...i am probably just missing something. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  19. oh....too bad.... i have heard that for the last year and a half in this country....so all i can say is enjoy...everyone else, pretend this message is not here and come to our website on www.skydiveauckland.com where i can show you the cheapest and best jump package you will find in the world during your winter.....(I hope!!). otherwise i hope we can show you a great winter...well summer in my country!! .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  20. sorry for that intro, but i finally have broadband, i am travelling the uk from nz and finally have what i need to keep me happy in this country( with all the bad weather). Anyway, could someone please tell me more about the premier membership? i would like to know if you find the extras that come with it worth it.? I think just donating to this web site will be a feel good thing. The second thing i reackon is that you should only be able to post in the forums if you have at least donated. Sangrio makes a good point in the sense of keeping this site alive. Do not flame me, as soon as i have my bank account out of overdraft the next expense will be my membership. Blue skies all, and few clouds, or no visits to the united kingdom Bigway .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

  22. I can not give you her email as i have no contact for her but she works in queenstown. She was on the diploma course and was an excellent skydiver. When she was 17 she was teaching alot of us at the first diploma course a lot of skills in skydiving. A good way to get hold of her would be by contacting the christchurch parachute school. aka. skydivingnz.com blue skies .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  23. i reackon the course was the only way i would have ever got in to the sport. I belive it is a great way as you can get a student loan for it, brilliant. The only negatives i have had about the course are personal opinions. We are all allowed to have opinions. I think it is the fstest way i have ever heard of to getting 200 jumps up and gettinig in the industry. the course is their if you want it but maybe it is not for everybody. i read the post scott wrote about someone abusing mikee and i must say i was on the course with scott and from what i hear he is doing extremley well in the industry and this i would say is due to the course and the attitude he went about everything. Good on you scott. I see you have downsized quite alot, i would love to see some of your video work. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
