yeah that was not directed at you. i just got given my first pin yesterday by a friend of mine from back home. we learnt to skydive togethor and he is now giving it up because of new wife. I dont think i will wear it though cause i do not wish for the same ending as he has just got. lol. yeah i read that when i first started jumping but so what, people learn from others mistakes and that was the only case i have ever read or heard about. I am damn sure a couple of hundred thousand rigs get repacked every year and i doubt very much that if someone bounces it would hardly ever be the riggers fault. black death is all yours mate, i will keep the blue skies though. i am alittle superstitious. i always close my eyes on take off until the wheels leave the ground. when i forget i quickly close my eyes for a second. I started closing my eyes when we use to take of in cessna on grass, this kind of felt cool as the plane jumped around the paddock. i have now done it ever since. no way have i started this post for anyone to sit here and start putting heat 0on riggers and start talkiing about moler straps left on reserves. How often does that happen, probably about .001% as often as you put someone else in danger in the sky. Leave the riggers alone, i have had my life saved by a rigger twice and have never been put at risk by a rigger and i bet your life has not been put at any risk by a rigger either. 4000+ jumps, 19 years and 18 reserve rides, yeah i would wait a few more years before you decide if skydiving is important to you or not. damn 18 reserve rides i have never met anyone with so many! alot of people do 1000 jumps a year, thats 4 and a half reserve rides a year, not so sure i could handle that. my aff level 1 was jumped on my own pack job. you better start getting use to packing your rig as there is not always someone to pack your rig for you. You spent a gulling5 hours learning to pack. That is one style you learnt, there are still more for you to learn. If you were flat packing you now need to learn how to pack over your shoulder cause on those busy days when there is no room to flat. If you were packing over a hook, now you need to pack over your shoulder as there is not always hooks. enjoy as if you are staying in skydiving i wish you thousands upon thousands of good well packed mains. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

Learn from your instructor, not us on the net. get a license and then ask these questions on the net. While you are a student got to your master for answers to questions. i think if you guys had it every six motnhs you would not need to raies the price as not so many people would be going for there riggers ticket maybe? well the response seems to be that 6 months is what most like. I am from new zealand where it is six months. I think there is alot of advantges and disadvantages for whatever cycle though. well you must be interested as you opened the post. I am just interested if anyone has seen some strange, crazy, or just plain stupid skydiving tatoos. I ask cause i have just seen this guy who is 21 and done 3 levels off aff. he came in with a massive tatoo on the his lower back....in HUGE block lettering it says..."SKYJUMPER". he really likes it and i am glad for him, i just hopes he passes AFF and keeps to it. as it was previously said. ASK YOUR INSTRUCTOR HOW TO DO THIS. ask him though about the things these people are telling you. We are virtual, he is your instructor for a reason. A good simple thing is what you do on AFF level 4 or 5... just a simple back flip by pulling your knees to your chest while in the box and pushing down with your arms. The whole point of this back flip is so you are put in an unstable position to get stable again. lots of fun. If you are ever unstable just arch but dont be to tense about it. if on your back practise lying on the ground on your back and rolling on over to your stomach, this is exactly what you do when in freefall to recover, just arch, always arch. being unstable will be no fun if you tense up to much, relax and enjoy. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

thanks for making of sense of this for me, what he was saying just soundeddangerous. Now your input has put light into the situation. good advice for him, he needs someone to show him the right direction of thinking. I am sure i need the same in some areas but also know that i am from a good size dropzone with lots of people keeping an eye on thigs, i think is a good practise. Good post Luis!

i went through the same on aff. maybe you have a hop'n'pop coming up and you are letting this frerak you out for other jumps. i dont know. my instructor told me that i have to think positive at all times. Well it sounds easier to say than it is to think. Trust me, you go up on the next load and close your eyes focusing on your jump and running the jump through your mind, thinking full positivity take you through the jump. complete the jump and do it again on the next load. Always think positive, you do this for the next few jumps and you will relax and trust that thinking positive in your jumps keeps you safe. It is good to be nervous and if you find yourself nervous, realise that this is what keeps you alive. Once the aff is over you will be jumping with a coach and learning the discipline that you enjoy, this will take your mind of being scared of your surroundings and will be replaced with enjoyment of your surroundings. You must tell how your instructor how you feel because you are his student and he cares about your welbeing more than any other skydiver anywhere. sometimes it feels like instructors come down hard on you but they are like this cause they want you to stay alive.
