In Ontario Canada, from what I read here the first (grid connected) solar installation goes on line in 2014 and coal will be eliminated - finally! http://www.ieso.ca/imoweb/media/md_supply.asp

on the nzaerosports webpage they list 300, 330, 364 and 400 tandem canopies in stock ready to ship.

was speed at deployment time a factor? PD has a good summary of the items that can affect hard openings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVAoiLl2B6M

he works at jumpshack so I image he has. but I have not...

august update?
-
my opinion it is not a design flaw...whoever did that should quit being a rigger.

a reserve that opens slower is safer?

for any sabre 1 that hints at opening hard, I would get a dome slider from MEL right away. the way he explained to me a long time ago a pocket slider can 'stand on edge' and still open hard. a dome slider is balanced and more reliable.

Pulse: Does it really pack smaller? What is the final verdict?
RMURRAY replied to -Joey-'s topic in Gear and Rigging
they are really a treat to pack even brand new. I always thought hybrid mains were a good idea.... -
I think it is a female thing but you should call Nancy at JumpShack on the phone. discuss all the options.

"all the gear worked exactly as it should." will be interesting to see how this can be true... -
550 microline or 500 Vectran for Vengeance?
RMURRAY replied to Shyandinnocent's topic in Gear and Rigging
spectra is fine but the thin 550 is garbage. is that not the case? -
550 microline or 500 Vectran for Vengeance?
RMURRAY replied to Shyandinnocent's topic in Gear and Rigging
I would not get any canopy relined with 550 microline. I have a friend that replaced the slider on his vengence and it is like a new canopy. opens nice now. get dimensions from PD to check what you have. -
the racer snap toggles are bulletproof. I pack lots of other peoples rigs and can see why some have toggles issues....totally preventable.

would be good to see that...

Any additional techniques for preventing line twist?
RMURRAY replied to arm900fj's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I like these suggestions. semi stowless? not for me...I want the lines to be more in control during deployment. -
I asked PD and as of now they have not done any testing on semi stowless bags.

Cessna 182 at High Field Elevation DZ
RMURRAY replied to Dan0321's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
so what is the conclusion? a 182P with the increased gross STC, wing extensions etc plus at least 285HP continuous or would 300HP continuous be best to haul 2 tandems to 9500 agl all day (from dzo's view)... http://www.avweb.com/news/maint/181623-1.html -
on a good day you are still obese according to BMI. best is to lose weight first. skydiving (maybe like rock climbing) is tough with extra weight. not easy...I am trying to get back to where I was when I started jumping. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_mass_index

Cessna 182 at High Field Elevation DZ
RMURRAY replied to Dan0321's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
popular up here in Ontario is the 260 h.p. carb`d IO-470 from Norland Aircraft Services. But we are only at 750 asl. you need more power than that at a high altitude dz? I would think so. -
quicker and cleaner?...no it is just different thats all. does PD or NZ aerosports endorse? UPT does not count - they sell them.

what is the problem with a conventional d bag?

cost of insurance is the main detractor I think. -
Cessna 182 at High Field Elevation DZ
RMURRAY replied to Dan0321's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
yes but expensive --- at least 90k for a (let's say) 182P? And you will most likely not find one, will need to get it done yourself? -
