    Arrival in Eloy?

In the afternoon for sure... Two years ago they closed till noon, last year they opened sooner 9 or 10am Andrew
  4. (1) Camping ... good quality sleeping bag plus something to get you off the ground (air matress, foamy) (2) Temps generally warm up by 9.30 am. Otter 1,2,3 could be a little chilly but nothing like as bad as winter jumping . (3) Role reversal ....The locals wear the toques the canadians wear the shorts. (4) If you want to try somewhere else, go to Coolidge, got a nice smaller dropzone feel Mullins King Air is fast. Just dont mention it to Larry. (5)Airspeed generally have one or more member available for load organizing during the boogie if you are into RW take advantage. They will organize appropriately for experience I was on jumps with 100 jump people, as well as people with thousands. You will have fun guaranteed. Andrew
  5. I've been at christmas the last two years This year I'll be down for Lyal's Canadian Invasion in January. Andrew
  6. Takes about 28hrs straight through from Edmonton with 2 drivers taking turns. I've done it twice. Andrew

  8. Favaks you go to waaaaay too many boogies you forget what you paid......j/k It was $13 The info on the Collegiate Games say $14 for this yr. Andrew
  9. They had a chopper come in for the weekend at Dids a few weeks back. Don't know of any others. Now it's windy and raining here. Andrew
  10. Here in Edmonton (same latitude as Windypeg) we usually get a shot of snow in early October as we did this morning. It's melted now, though as it has been most of this year its too windy to jump. This yr Calgary got snow in AUGUST We jump year round as long as temps above -10c. We quite often get inversions where it is warm at altitude. Also we have heated packing area. Andrew
  11. Flying High manufactures the Sidewinder Container in Canada I also got my cypres and reserve through them. I believe AL also sells Bonehead helmets. Lyal at Eden North I Believe is the Canadian dealer for RI (Voodoo, Talon) With only 2-3000 licenced skydivers in Canada it's not a very big market. Andrew

    10 way

I just have to say congratulations to the Chicago team in 10way. Faster than Airspeed 5 out of 6 rounds....WOW.
  16. I keep my old protec helmet for night jumps. attach a mag lite with elastic bands to the top (those little holes are good for something..) Attach my visible light to the back of the helmet. I turn on the mag lite after opening to check canopy. On my first night jump I landed off and that little circle of light sure helped let me see the ground. When I jumped at Eloy last New Year's. Bryan B said a girl had landed off 2 yrs previous with no flare and broken femur. Half brakes are better than no brakes. Andrew

    Tandem Terminal

Just finished the combined Alberta Provincials/Canadian Nationals. There was a tandem course during nationals. One of the candidates asked me to be one of his dummies for the course. OK, he said we'll barrell roll out the door, then go drougueless to 8500'(from 12500') Anybody else been to tandem terminal? Also thanks to Mad John for getting me my CXM #921 (Canadian 10 Man)on a sweet 2 point 10way. also to Storm, and Rich Grimm for all his patience with all us 182 jumpers. Andrew

    Two strange days

I attach my altimiter to my leg strap, just above the buckle, when I do CReW just have to glance down. Andrew
  20. Hi James, good luck with the coach course. you need to get to Eloy and talk to Brigitte, she used to jump a spectre 97. In the July parachutist, Eric Fradet (25,000 jumps)endorses the Spectre. As you know I love mine. I'll let you know when the Beech gets going. Andrew
  21. Thanks for the input. The owner wont be jumping for a while, he downsized from a diablo 135 at 400 jumps Skybytch would have lots to say about that I'm sure. I only got one jump this weekend, on my lightning did my second downplane, Dave got my shoe again!!! Andrew
  22. None of the three stood it up, there seems to be a narrow control range, the owner over flared and it folded up. The second jumper who usually jumps a cobalt 120 found it didnt want to plane out, just sank in, went to his knees. The third jumper (alpha 129)had it fold up and landed on his butt. The steering lines are not too short, it seems to be easier to front riser than the cobalt/alpha.
