  1. BUMP .........change to April 27th here in Edmonton about 3" and still coming down at least I managed 7 jumps last weekend. and Calgary got dumped on more!!!!! Andrew
  2. Has postponed his jump till August due to his Launch Director suffering a heart attack. www.legrandsaut.org/site_en/ Andrew
  3. I got my spectre 170 at 100 jumps, weigh 200 out the door. Love the nice soft openings, think it is a great canopy. That's a great price for that few jumps. Just remember to fly conservatively at first it takes(a lot) more than a few jumps to learn what your canopy can do. Get coaching from an experienced canopy pilot. Have fun Andrew
  4. We had the same thing yesterday, its melted, just raining now. Apr 15,2002 we had 21cm(8in) of the white stuff. at least the weather looks OK for the weekend. andrew
  5. precision.aerodynamics.com then click on psycho pack Andrew

    Talon FS

The Talon FS (Formation Skydiving) Was designed by Sandy Reid because bellyflyers didn't want to jump the Voodoo which was seen as a Freefly rig. The harness is the same as the Voodoo The container has a boxier design. Pin protection is the same as Voodoo I believe the newer ones have the cut in rear attachments DanBC jumps one ....thats enough recommendation for me
  7. lots of students struggle at first, S/L AFF whars the cure? More jumps. build up muscle memory. check out Wendy's log (Wendy is our CRW moderator) crw.boxofclue.com/skydive/howcrw.html I did 4 5sec delays before I moved to 10sec. Andrew
  8. Gavin Adams of the Plaid Jackets died Saturday in a snowmobile accident. www.mcgarryfamily.ca/english/notices.cfm#612
  9. From 98 to 124mph SAS( I have been as high as 130 but cant make turns at that speed) depending on who I am jumping with and how much lead I am wearing. probably 118 average 140 to 145 in a sit. 142 av. yes I am a bit floaty.
  10. Before you jump a newly hooked up canopy you should be doing a complete line check. This is done a lot easier with two people. If you are not sure how to do this then have the other person be an instructor. Enjoy your new canopy. Oh yes.........BEER! Andrew
  11. Why do you want TAS? not SAS people jumping in Colorado where the ground is 5000' or so above sea level will record higher speeds than the same person jumping at Perris near sea level. the whole point of SAS is to level the playing field. Andrew

    PC9E

John Smith...poor guy is STUCK in Eloy (with a 28.8 connection) is looking for a good used PC9E (PAL) for use at the worlds. He does video for the Plaid Jackets Sequential Canopy Formation team. Contact him at [email protected] Andrew
  14. Interesting that they are removing the req to hold the formation for 3 secs in the world records largest formation section.

    why Zeemax?

one hundred seventy four feet per second.
  16. Bryan Burke from Skydive AZ wrote this a while back it's fairly long but gives a good sequence of progression near the end. www.afn.org/skydive/sta/dta/htp.txt
  17. John Smith has a few AZ pics at www.skydyv.com/AZPics/AZPics.html both Lippy and myself are in Az009.htm I'm in the Base and Lippy (red with yellow pop top) has my leg grip.
  18. I have been jumping my spectre for 2 yrs.loaded 1.2 Openings are soft, forgiving on landing I does have a steeper glide angle than the sabre but I can get back from long spots with a little brake. I used to haul on rear riser but found brakes work just as well in most cases.
  19. James started out as our"PFF from hell" ended the season as our "Rookie of the Year" I also did IAD, fell off the strut (my right hand has a few bits missing) had to come back the next week and do it right.
  20. I see they also claim to reach Terminal V attached to a 300 ft cord. Off a 700 ft bridge.
  21. we should all fly 59ft2 packs easy really compact j/k Imageine you are visiting a friend in Colorado where the landing area is 5000 ft above sea level.still comfortable? Deuce went to a 150 at 350? and tore a divot in the ground , I'm the same height and 5 pounds lighter than you, I have a Spectre 170 almost 400 jumps on it, and I still feel there is more performance that I can learn to get out of it. I'ts the pilot not the canopy. you answered your own question get a Spectre. there is a reason femur is a verb in skydiving. Spectre. Spectre. Spectre. I'm 6' and 175 pounds. I'm currently jumping about 10 jumps per month. Given my requirements, which rig would you recommend? Thanks for any and all input. packing will become easier learn the riser inputs on a 190 remember to have fun. Andrew
  22. The invasion finished this week I believe Aidan will be down for a 4 way camp before spring. It's my understanding that you have to be or work under the direct supervision of a senior rigger to be a packer. If you want to get your ticket contact Sandy Reid at Rigging innovations he puts on courses. there are signs all over the place at Eloy saying no unauthorized packing ( eg in the laundry room) Andrew
  23. Hi Tee, Hows the baby. Pete (Canuck) and I just got back. Blowing snow all the way from Red Deer. Did 56 jumps in 11 days. Got to watch Lippy cut away, chased his main and freebag, which conveniently landed next to the main landing area, the freebag landed next to an unsuspecting ""Burro" (Sp) and scared the crap out of it . Andrew
  24. Hadn't heard anything about Beiseker, but there was a discussion on CSPA chat about CAPS 3rd Party Insurance not being renewed, resulting in CAPS being no more.
  25. We had 22 on the load last yr, Favaks was on the load also. The moon was so bright I almost didnt need the chemlight to see my alti.
