Yeah you met me on your balloon jump I just unloaded the balloon, watched you float up and away and then load the balloon back on the trailer after you used all the gas. And you think we gave your fiance a hard time!!!! I am surpised she still talks to you after the work out she got putting that balloon back on the trailer---In all seriousness she was a really hard worker, it was hot as hell, the ground was uneven and we spent 30 min. of hard labor putting the balloon back on the trailer--she never complained!!!She is a keeper!!!!! Had a blast at skyfest--1 high altitude load from 21k--I only got 3min20sec thought I would get more! 2 skyvan loads where I saw the top of the plane. The reason for this post is why are there no wingsuits in this state---there was a total of 4 at skyfest. There will be a super otter at Skydive Temple in Salado Texas the weekend of July 31st I know there are more wingsuits in the state -- come out and flock There will be 3 flying for sure!!!! I too had fun flyin wingsuits above skyvans at skyfest even though there were very scary times like when some canopy reps were talking about the waxing of the male danglers!!!!!! I won't say any names -- it will be a cold day in iceland before I spill the beans. The swooping of the pond with rental cars rocked too!!!!!!! Who would of thought that they wouldn't make it. As one of the newly rated AFFI's (in May), I would say that from what I know the course has changed in the way it is taught. 1 After the classroom there are 2 days of practice with the evaluators--this is to learn how to do the job and also learn the evaluator 2 The ground prep is also "taught" to the first going thru it and they are used to teach the rest of the candidates. From what I know these are major changes as in the past you were to show up knowing how to do everything. As for this being easier yes it would be. AFF Lvl 1 or Cat A--------Until the student is supposed to be released he is to consider his/herself alone in freefall if he/she does not have at least 1 instructor with grips. At LVL3 / Cat C we introduce CIA continue to skydive even if no instuctors have grips as this is an intentional release skydive. If not CIA and above pull altitude you have the 5 second rule---you have 5 seconds to fix the problem and get CIA or you are to pull........ If not CIA at pull altitude PULL STABLE OR UNSTABLE don't spend the rest of your life trying to get stable. Well call him Skygod Rat---- I am one of those jumpers with 596 jumps who just got his AFF rating and can say that I earned it. Sorry that the Rat couldn't come show all of us how to fly as he knows all. As for the coach thing I got the rating because you must have it to get any other rating. I have never charged any new jumper for a coaching jump and I have never paid for a coaching jump. Well first off there are 2 kinds of people ones that love the Cobalt and ones that hate it. I personal like it. I do think that the cobalt flies somewhat bigger than a stilleto of the same size. The problem with the cobalt is you either get a great opening canopy or a slammer and the size doesn't matter. If you get the great openning canopy you will love it. The material it is made from makes it easy to pack, but it seems to pack 1 size bigger also. The cobalt has great flare power and great floating ability. It will do an almost no altitude loss flat turn! Demo a Cobalt and make your own decision Demo a Nitro/Nitron while your at it - I have heard nothing but good things about the canopy. I bought a Cobalt 120 when I had 105 jumps wing loading 1.4 without weights, I have always worn at least 8LBS. I am lucky to be alive as I stubbed my toe on landing one time. The canopy is great, opens, flies, flares, sinks in, lands off all with ease from the get go---went from a Sabre 170.
