Central Tx has no twin otters left!!! Those jumpers who went to the coast to jump a super otter, would you still drive the extra 2.5hrs to go jump a super otter or would you come jump a regular otter with a 6 min longer plane ride. The protrack only stores detailed data---Chart-- of the last 10 jumps therefore if you make 15 jumps a day the chart will only be there for the most recent 10. If you want the chart you must download the data before making the 11th jump with out downloading. All the other info will be there except the chart. Useful suggestion #1 --ask some for a straight answer that knows, as the people that do nothing except sit here all day don't know the answer. As a preson who's DZ has been slammed in this place by people using fake names to keep form being thrown off the DZ, I would say talk to anyone at your DZ before going to a public forum using a fake name to air out your problems. This does nothing to help the situation as you get advice from the unqualified and bored---Sometimes the advice is good, but don't go to a public forum first, make that a last resort. 250 jumps or more on a cobalt 120---when the canopy was new it opened brisk. At about 30 jumps it started to snivel like you wouldn't believe, my deployment sequence is pull grab risers toggles or anything and pull the shit out of it until it opens. Consistantly 1000' or more. This used to scary me now I can turn 1 more point during the opening. The canopy flies great and is very forgiving--if you front riser turn to low alittle toggle input pulls you out. This canopy will bring you back from a very long spot. I would buy another cobalt--As for mals--had half a dozen spinning diving line twists which were cured by grabbing cutaway handle and putting body position into a neutral postion--spin and dive would stop and I was able to kick out with out pulling the handle The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Most DZs are a disfunctional family and it works but sometimes you get family members who are unhappy and slander or try to make the dz look bad. Why can't jumpers go to their DZO or S&TA with their problems instead of bringing them out to a public forum. This helps no one as the DZ looks bad and everyone gives their views be it good or bad. Dropzone.com is a great place to learn, inform and educate!!!! Not a good place to air out dirty laundry or things your pissed off about. Bad for business and bad for moral.. What do other think?? If you ask for help you should offer something even a coke or sandwich just to be polite. At our Dz we don't know what paid coaching jumps are, sometimes the Dzo will pay our slot for helping out a new jumper but most of the time we do it because people did it for us when we started. Helping out can be more rewarding than money. Our head AFF-I nevers takes money from the DZ he doesn't pay for fun jumps either, but I would guess he is owed way more than he has jumped. Always offer something as a way of saying thank you no matter how small--as for paying for the coaches slot not at our DZ. The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Also our DZ does not charge for our coaching jumps as the rated coaches jump with the low time jumpers to further their skills after AFF and keep them jumping. We do not have a DZ where the experienced jumpers won't jump with new jumpers we do it for the sport and the fun of teaching--if we sucked every last dollar out of them for coaching jumps they are broke and can no longer jump! Any turns you are having is due to unsymetrical body position, this could be 1 leg lower than the other or 1 arm higher or sticking out farther than the other. Your instructor should be able to tell you this. To stop the turn it is the same as lvl 2 gently push your right hip down if you are turning left or the oposit if you are turning right. Heading control is the major TLO on this dive (alti awareness is still#1) pick a spot on the ground and fly looking it and your altimeter, normally you will fly where you look. AHH Skyfest-- wonderful DZ in the middle of July, nice breeze oh wait this is Texas. No breeze going thru the unair conditioned packing area, the sweat from your forehead dripping on your new rig. Getting up before most humans should to meet the hot air balloons, the smoke from your cig just floats in front of your face, the wind sock limp--the balloon jump organizer comes and tells you its to windy, you look at your smoke and the wind sock, then your watch its 5am and nothing to do for 3 hrs. The DZ is located at the ferry landing between Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen. USPA DZ, packing is not great as it is done in a tiled walk way with sand everywhere. Last year jumps were $30 US and get there early before the tandems show up as it is a tourist DZ The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

As far as I know and what I have been told is that if you have a military ID which can be a spouse of the person in the military you are qualified. I would say if you can get on a military post and buy goods at the military stores you would qualify. As for the lift capacity I am not sure but it is something like 40 I think.
