Our Dz uses a totally different method- we the coaches take a student up on a coaching jump to get them to do something for the first time so they will buy us beer --we pay for our slot and pack our own gear but we get to have lots of fun every night. As soon as your under canopy and in clean air space clear your ears than it will be much easier 4000ft up than on the ground. By clean airspace I mean no one around and brakes still stowed--once the brakes have been released you are not to let go of the toogles which means both hands must come to the nose at the same time which will put you at 1/4 brakes. I may not be 100% right here but if you put a wide angle lens on your video camera a 24mm lens on the still will be about the same viewing area. This is for 37mm video w/.45 wide angle--it will change if the video is 33mm The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Where you can jump is limited by the landing area----size and proximity to the ocean(beach landing) Who you jump with is limited by only you --- if you don't ask you will never know. Most experienced jumpers will jump with you -- but try to meet the experienced jumpers schedule-don't show up at 3pm and ask when the bigger formations are being planned ask the week before and show up at 8 am to meet him/her. The statics say if you don't have an AAD it can not save your life. A cypres costs approx. $1200.00. If it never saves you it was an insurance policy you never had to use, If it does save you it was the best $1200 you ever spent. If you are doing CRW or something like that you can turn it off. My life is worth $1200 for the sole reason if I die my wife gets $750,000 and I would hate for her next husband to live in my house drive my truck and play with my dog for free. I always jump with an AAD An AAD is an electronic device and may not work but if it is needed and does work it was worth it---if it is needed and doesn't work well you can't take it with you!!!!!! More than likely it was both hard opening(maybe body positon) and loose fitting gear. I am to assume it was rented student gear which if the main lift web is not adjusted for you body the chest strap would ride either high or low (high in this case) and allow it to come up to your face if the leg straps were not tight enough or loosened on opening. At this point find your instructer and have them expain how to adjust everything properly and always get a jumpmaster/AFF instructer to give you a good gear check before every jump Once off student status find some one you trust to give you a gear check before every jump..the life you save may be your own The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

not sure if this is the norm or what but the 2 voodoo rigs I have seen and tried on were good in all aspects except for the leg straps. The rigs were custom ordered but the leg strap padding stopped way short of where they should to be comfortable. One of the containers was $1800 new sold for $500 2 months later so the jumper could buy an Odessey and the same container was sold 3 months later for $400 and is now for sale again as it is extremely uncomfortable in the leg area. Our DZO flies one and says it is one of the best canopies he has ever flown--good openings and good landings either fast or slow. Says it is very respondsive to input--It is a 135---I ahve never flown it because it is bigger than I would like to fly and would be hard to compare it to a smaller canopy that I am used to flying. emergency exit from 1250 out of an otter 18 went out on mains 2 went out on reserves. Still had plenty of time for line twist and controlabilty checks. The first 1000 ft take 10 seconds pull out the door and be ready there is time. The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

We will have Spacelands otter again the weekend of 10/4 and 10/5. Come out in force the more people we have the longer we can keep it coming back. Jumps will be $19--air conditioned packing--food on site and beer afterwards. Had a good turn out last weekend but a few more would allow for back to back loads. Alright now what is the point of saying that I love mine every weekend----there are lots of us out here who jump out of little cessnas every weekend and we really don't want to hear that you get to jump a Casa when ever you want. Have a little respect for the people at the poor DZs And as for Houston thanks I paid $30 registartion fee and $22 a jump for the same plane the weekend before. I heard some cutaway a PD stilleto this weekend due to spinning mal----No one should ever jump those canopies they are bad---- No offense PD just had to use the stilletto for the nick name spinetto. Everyone has heard the name and knows that any canopy can have a spining mal so why does Cobalt appear so much in this forum? I guess Cobalts are the only canopy that malfunctions these days---Sure wish I had a 105 for my second rig! The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
