Ivermectin is most frequently touted as having done fantastic work in treating Covid in India, a country where the population is going to have a higher rate of parasitic worms. It may be that instead of Ivermectin actually being specifically a good Covid treatment, it just did what it's designed to do (kill the worms) and reduced strain on the patients immune systems to give them a better chance of survival. Which would confirm why it's not turning out consistently as a great treatment for any general population it's applied to.

Is that just using an existing clause in the employment contract e.g. exposure to any specific class of infection means you're stood down with pay for 2 weeks, or is it specifically a provision brought in for Covid? I guess stuff like this is going to slip through the cracks unintentionally from time to time. One would hope that in general, anyone who can get the jab is still getting it regardless of a hypothetical bonus vacation.

This was my biggest concern with the Trump presidency. Every single norm, rule or protocol he broke and faced no consequences for, established precedence for anyone who follows down the line to get away with the exact same shit, or worse.

The one consistent thread I've noted throughout this whole ordeal (in person and elsewhere on the web), is that any video or link or study posted by the Anti's is almost guaranteed to not say what they say it says.

I meant more in terms of, if the government is paying for it and the vax is cheaper than the test, then it's not "political" to be for them to preference the vax as the acceptable option. It's just practical logistically.

Could it also not simply be a question of cost, as well? I have no idea what an antibody test costs, but if the vaccine is cheaper then it makes more sense logistically to require it over the test.

Everyone who *can* take the vaccine should take the vaccine. If you are allergic to the ingredients, that would put you in the *can't* bucket, so you're all good. That said, the chances of you being allergic to something in every single one of the available vaccines is much, much smaller than the odds any one of us has of having a serious adverse reaction to the jab - which is already a tiny, tiny number.

My (extremely rough) figures have BASE as higher risk than a Covid infection. Anti-masker gave an IFR figure to me in a discussion the other day of 0.05%, which he openly stated was a result of excluding people over 70 to stop them from skewing the average, but appeared to still be official data (I think CDC, maybe?). A quick google gave me a fatality risk on any single BASE jump of 0.04%, making a Covid infection 25% more likely to kill me. It's an incredibly simplistic model that probably has a bunch of flaws I haven't picked up on, but it highlights for me that the people who harp on about "it's only a <1% chance!" have absolutely no fucking idea how dangerous that percentage actually is in real life.

Imagine the possibilities if you put even a fraction of this energy into literally *anything* productive.

Instead of dog-piling I'm going to address where the logic here fails, because I don't think it's unreasonable to have a healthy distrust of the industry that *did* contribute heavily to the opioid crisis. Our nation doesn't have that issue. We're not beholden to Big Pharma in the same way the US doctors are - but we're still pushing for vaccine's in the exact same way because it's the right thing to do, medically. So is basically every other nation out there, who doesn't have that same questionable relationship between the drug companies and it's practitioners.
