  1. The oh-so-busy gopro site lists the following 1920×1080 wide (170º) FOV medium (127º) FOV narrow FOV (90º) FOV #1. when shooting @ 90 or 127 FOV, that doesn't actually increase the apparent depth of field does it? I would think no, so #2. do people typically shoot @ reduced FOV's to reduce / eliminate fish-eye disctractions, i.e.; seeing your hands in the shot? Thanks Craig
  2. Thanks Spot, I'll take advantage of your offer. i see that Contour can also use apple touch for interface. i think that I have one of them in a drawer somewhere. Craig
  3. found this product in another thread http://deltagearinc.com/Kit&Tools/CameraMounts/go_pro_low_pro_mount.htm looks a bit less scary than most I've seen. Craig
  4. How do people choose between these two products? I've searched this site for comaprison threads, but missed them if the exist. I'm looking for a "simple" camera to put on top / center of a helmet. GoPro seems most popular, has many mounts, has cool LCD back to simplify aiming / after dive reviewing BUT the on-helmet mounting applications I've seen looks like awesome snag potential. Contour seems easy to mount, not so easy to aim or review video AND seems to have less snag potential I'm not a pro viddy guy. Will probably never use image editing SW. Both seem to offer similar resolution Just want to document some WS flights. My phone is a BBY, so no access to apps that control the GP or Contour. Right now I'm leaning towards Contour product despite the poularity of GP. Any comments? Cheers Craig F
  5. good question and this IS a good place to ask since there are significant similarities / skill sets that cross both BASE and CReW. if excluding packing technique (including use / type of slider), differing canopy trim and "material" are the primary reasons affecting opening characteristics. craig
  6. I made 3 jumps, you? Kleggo
  7. If any of you know him, please let him know that Craig Fenstermaker would like to re-connect and ask him to PM me. Thanks Craig

  9. Looking for some help from a "seasoned veteran" or a new guy" with good records. Please tell me the correct closing sequence for the main container flaps on a Vector 2? DOM = April 87 or 89, can't read the stamp clearly. The "beauty flap" has the grommet offset to the side. Thanks Craig
  10. Indeed not, Simon has counseled a slow measured progression and has helped me throttle my gotta-go-faster mentality. See my post above. Craig
  11. Hi Luke I have 60 jumps on a BM Classic II and ~ 30 jumps on a borrowed BM GTI, all jumped in the 2000 - 2003 time frame. I have made ~ 15 recent jumps on a PF P2 borrowed from Spot while learning how to fly modern WS. The 1st suit Simon sent was an Intro, i jumped it 3 times, primarily just to confirm sizing. Now i am jumping a T Bird and have made ~ 40 jumps on it. i'm currently awaiting Simon to have a R Bird available in my size. Cheers Craig
  12. very true Luke H, life does not permit me to spend much time crusing the inet. I would much rather be riding / flying, but working takes up most of the time. be safe Craig
  13. In a word? Superlative! Simon and I have been in close contact for several months as I first took advantage of gaining insight from his advice regarding WS progression. Then I took advantage of his WS rental program as I tried to figure out which suit was suited for me at varying stages of my progression. He has been ultra-accommodating as we worked to try to get me the appropriate suits in the appropriate size for my non-standard morphology. I’m going to leave out many of the details of our dozens of communications for the sake of brevity. Be assured that I would be happy to do business with him in the future and highly recommend that if you are interested in wingsuiting and are in need of a suit to fly, you seriously consider reaching out to Simon and initiate a dialog. Thanks Simon. http://wickedwingsuits.com/ Craig
  14. No and Yes I am in a similar position and have had great success taking advantage of the opportunities offered by Spot at Skydive Elsinore for instruction par exellence and Simon @ wickedwingsuits.com for Tony Suit rentals. have fun Craig

  16. Why doesn't everyone jump accuracy? Why doesn't everyone jump FF? Why doesn't everyone jump RW? Why doesn't everyone jump CReW? Why doesn't everyone jump Speed? thank you for spelling this correctly
  17. WOW beautiful scenery, where in SW are you jumping? sorry about the lost box.

  19. thanks for sharing seeing good stuff like this makes it more and more difficult to continue living life as a salary man. the EU siren call grows stronger. Craig
  20. Do you use one? Do you use it for BASE or Aeroplane or both? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Does it noticeably add flapping material back by your "pud"? Thanks be safe Craig

  22. was trolling the PF site this morning and saw that the V3 order form was down and was replaced by the message shown in the subject line. I guess i'll call Cathy @ Morpheus this week to see what's up. I should have just asked DSE yesterday as he organized some fun dives @ Elsinore yesterday, but i didn't know about the V4 until this morning. be safe Craig
  23. Please take the time to describe why you prefer the P2 over the R Bird? thanks Craig
