  1. If I had the resources I would design one that is a lens that sits in front of my visor and shows the exact same HUD as jet fighters do. Of course the actually reading device would have to be strapped somewhere on your torso... But crap...wish NASA would become interested in wingsuits lol
  2. That's because Recon doesn't auto zero it's altitude. You are able to manually adjust the altitude, but it takes ages. So people that jump them just remember that its reading so and so different. Just something you have to pre-prep for. My buddies was showing about 3K difference but it was spot on with that difference having his audible go off in sync when his display showed 7K in the goggles(4K alarm) And Recon doesn't care. I've asked them if they were going to make anymore and they said no, but maybe if there was high demand for them then they would consider making more. Because the 600+ sold out of the 250 needed just wasn't enough demand :/ I guess it's more important that bicyclists know their altitude while biking trails...
  3. If there was a way to seal the vents temporarily, you could use that thing as a queen sized air-mattress when out camping
  4. I'm sure it's to keep good pressurization. But can't they make some sorta air-lock backfly inlets? Maybe its something being developed! :D
  5. Yea, even going from tracking in my FF suit to tracking in my Booties, there is quite of bit of difference. I've borrowed a tracking suit as well and that's an even larger difference lol Seems like I'm always "re-learning" how to track with every new suit I put on. But the idea here is "ease of use". It's easier to learn naked because your body adjustments don't have as large of an effect as it would in a tracking suit.
  6. http://www.freaknsuits.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=22 Get a FF suit first, because you can wear it for anything. As for RW, well, you can cross that bridge when you get there and get a suit with booties and everything.
  7. I met a dude that you need to fly in sit in order to keep up with him on his belly. So it's probably accurate. A nice baggy jumpsuit will help you a lot.
  8. The more vertical speed you have, the more potential horizontal speed you have. It's all about knowing how to convert that vertical speed to horizontal speed with the most efficiency for gaining forward speed without going to far and stalling. As the swoopers say, "MOAR POWER!"
  9. I hear Eloy is nice, but gear doesn't last very long due too the dust. This true? If it is, I would try a place that is a little less...dry Z-hills is great. They make camping really easy. Bar is open all night every night. Always people to hang out with.
  10. Make sure he is wearing protection when he puts it in your bum!
  11. I'd be nice if they made a "snag-free" casing for it.
  12. Skydive City in Zephyrhills FL has an AFF limit of 240lbs http://www.skydivecity.com/WeightLimits/weightlimits.html
  13. It was discussed in a previous thread and Jarno even posted a video of in flying http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4440449
  14. Lets not bitch and wine about Lodi till you go there for yourself NOW and see how things are operated. And do it with a clear mind. Only then may you speak.
  15. The blade III reminds me of the Pheonix-fly V3
  16. You can get a better "glide" just using flippers...and still be able to punch fish if needed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21OobslhFRc
  17. Does a rental include all the tid bits at your DZ? Helmet/Alti/rig? If so, then don't waste money on an open-face just yet. Better to just use the rental till you find something you really like. I bought a Cookie G2($240) right after AFF, and I love it. You'll wish you had a full-face on cold days, too ;p G2/G3 has a very large view range and you can see a person's mouth and eye's no problem. Before I even started skydiving I bought some used gear Alti-track+Software for $300 (You don't need something this fancy) 2 Jumpsuits for $95(1 RW Tonysuit with booties, 1 Dive-Rite Multi-suit) Open-face for $90 I ended up not using the helmet and it's been sitting on my shelf collecting dust without seeing the sky once since I bought it. Note: You won't be able to use booties till you have your A-license or just on solo's(maybe), so when looking for a jumpsuit, don't get one with booties if you plan on using it for coach jumps and what not. As for the Rig, wait till you know what you want. You'll be downsizing a lot so don't really think about one till at least around 50 jumps. I got one at 30 jumps but my rig can hold a 170(f111 tight or Pulse) down to a 135, so I'm good for a couple hundred jumps. But speak with your instructor(s) to find out for sure what would work for you.
  18. I don't care what they did. $650 for a block of 50 jump tickets! You can't beat that! I'm paying TWICE that here in FL!

  20. Yes, cause the camera caused her hard landing. Hell she probably wore it while packing and it distracted her enough to pack a step-through!
  21. So, they require AAD's? Do they require the AAD to be turned ON? ;p Find the cheapest one, never turn it on, and BAM! No misfires.
  22. Lodi you can get 50 jump tickets for $650. AND they are usually very busy.
  23. Has anyone tried any Hydrophobic coatings on their swoop shoes and/or rig? Stuff is pretty slick! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPM8OR6W6WE
  24. The rig bothers me lol Need to redo the texture on it. If you need to know how it's suppose to look here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vo1d64-rqaM
