  1. Rook Nelson in this video stated that he's been jumping since he was 4 years old...like skydiving? at 4? Can anyone clarify what he meant by this? 4 just seems a little...young
  2. Naw, I prefer my container be filled with steak knife's, spoons, and a copy of Justin Bieber's DVD titled "Never Say Never". YOLO!
  3. I found this site which has some F.A.Q's about buying a windtunnel: http://www.bodyflightconcepts.com/f_a_q__s.html
  4. I don't mean to thread jack, but I'm sure its a question the OP would like to know as well. After you graduate AFF with your, minimum of, 8 jumps, what do you have to do for the jumps up to your 25th for when you can apply for your A license? I was looking for pricing at the local DZ but I don't see a section for it. Is it the Student Coaching jumps($95 each jump)? And is this necessary? or can you just do the regular "experienced" jump prices of around $25 a pop?
  5. Congrats! A real trooper! Never give up! With a little patience and dedication, anything is possible :P Now on for that B!
  6. Why does this actually sound amazing in every way?
  7. I know what you mean! I was watching a video Dave Barlia jumping angel falls, and one of the comments on the video was, "Jeb Corliss is the best in the world". All I can do is shake my head. It's one of the unfortunate side effects.
  8. All and all, everything needs at least 1 person with exposure. They don't need to be the best at it. All they need to do is show it's potential. Jeb has completed this job with flying colors. I've been interested in human flight as sort of a Sci-Fi dream all my life, but if it wasn't for Jeb, I would have NEVER of seen where the world of wingsuits have gotten to today, and thus I wouldn't have this new found goal in life. It goes much deeper then that for me, so I couldn't thank Jeb enough for his exposure. It also keeps more new people coming to DZ's for lessons thus giving them funds for new equipment. And about Redbull. Redbull is awesome. I see you guys hating them. But why? Derek Jeter gets paid $18.9million dollars a year to hit a little ball around a field. I think it's ridiculous that these guys make so much money, when in the extreme sports world, these people are doing much more spectacular things, and not making a dime from it! I like Redbull, because they support the sports that really matter. There is nothing wrong with promoting dreams.
  9. There is an age old question, "Would you rather be rich, or famous?"
  10. That Rook Nelson explained thing's quite nicely :]
  11. Have you or anyone tried watching a motivational video (probably of skydivers being awesome) on a portable device before jumping to help build confidence? Videos like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6il9-zdQL4Q I like that one cause of the lyrics in the chorus, "One day". Cause I know one day... that will be me :]
  12. that wing is not going to be landed anytime soon.... Just need wheels. For years, I thought that what wingsuits really need is hardpoints on the belly so you could attach a street luge. -Blind Lurch already has figured out how to attach these hardpoints. Street luge done, complete with chainsaw motors. Just need a shock absorber. And a amooth hill with a 2.1+ angle!
  13. This may sound silly, but couldn't you wrap the rig in something? Like a rope to hold the rig shut? Heck, you could just tie the pinlocks up. Though, I would look for a more...weather proof solution... Unless of course you're planning one of these deals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8pH5jgSuP8
  14. I've been playing D3's B.A.S.E. game for awhile now. Which focuses more as a simulator http://www.flokas.de/baseforum/viewforum.php?f=67 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP7M37R9k3s Been waiting for this to release: http://skydivegame.com/en Not sure if it's the same game...But your download link doesn't work :/
  15. It actually shows 90 to -10 in about 4.4 seconds.
  16. I hope it will be like rally car racing. Where one goes at a time...would hate to see 10 guys in the air crash into each other.
  17. If something travels fast enough, it is likely to "take-off": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9iP_H0MnPE I think what we should really look at here is the potential for a wingsuit landing on ski's without a parachute. The trick would be flying with the ski's on, but I'll bet $100 bucks it is possible and very likely to see in the future.
  18. A wingsuit, without a rig, and without arms, gives off an upside down airplane wing shape. Which is used on cars as spoilers because it exerts downward force. Very bad for lift/glide ratio. Add the arms, then you got some upward force on a large downward force body. What you really need to thing about is how to make the rig flush with the helmet and wingsuit. The Tonysuits Fast-back design helps with this. I've drawn up a sketch of a way to make things a little more flush: http://i.imgur.com/dcRVw.jpg
  19. I do think its definitely possible, but from looking at it in an engineering aspect, the wingsuit would need to be re-designed. Just like how an airplanes fins change for take off, flight and landing. There would need to be a special "take-off" designed wingsuit. ...or at least for better and more efficient results.
  20. I think you've missed the joke...
  21. So, who's gonna be the first to jump off it? http://news.sky.com/home/world-news/article/16233045
  22. Someone please record this. Even if it goes south I still would like to watch.
