Well, given that Lincoln freed the slaves, I'm not all that surprised.

I’m planning to make HUD dashboard for wingsuit flight. IMO, most important information to display is vertical and horizontal [ground] speed and airspeed. It will also be nice to know glide ratio and altitude. Flysight cannot read aloud so much information, so it should be displayed visually. There are several options for implementation, and I’m wondering if somebody already tried and have insights what the best option would be. The optimal solution IMO is to take smart glasses display (Vufine+ for example) and connect it to smartphone running one of paraglider’s or airplane dashboard applications. So GPS and barometer readings will be made by smartphone, converted to visual readings by application (Aircraft Cockpit Demo for example) and transmitted to smart glass display to be seen during wingsuit flight. There are other options, including Epson Moverio for display, Arduino for hardware, and developing application software from scratch. If somebody has experience or opinion, please share.

No Ken, there are 19 words that have a Q not followed by a U. Assuming U is not Q the answer may be in the number 19, a prime number with significant biblical meaning. Napthali had 19 cities, In Samual 19 men were killed and Nebuchadnezzar burned down Jerusalem in the 19th year of his reign. In ancient times it was known as the number of surrender and it is the only whole number preceded by 18 and succeeded by 20. Coincidence? I don't see how. You might want to open your mind a little.

The best way to keep things fresh is trying to learn a new skill every year. I only made 4 static-line jumps my first year. Over that winter I earned a private pilot license. The next summer I flew a bit and only made two jumps. The third summer I made 60 jumps and earned my A license. The fourth summer, I did about 50 fun jumps. The fifth year, I passed the army static-line course and tried out for the Canadian Army parachute display team. The sixth year, I earned a static-line jump-master rating. The seventh year, I did another 50 fun jumps, plus a stack of exhibition jumps. The eighth year, I earned a rigger rating and started flying jumpers. The ninth year, I flew more jumpers and learned how to drop IAD students (1985). The tenth year, I earned an Instructor B rating and tandem instructor rating and did a couple of BASE jumps. I did not jump much while at university, but worked full-time in the skydiving industry for 18 years afterwards. Every year I tried to add a new rating or renew an old rating: Master Rigger, PFF instructor, Cypres installation rating, PIA Symposia, lecturing at PIA Symposia, wing-suit, Rigger Instructor, Rigger Examiner, Tandem Examiner Rating, etc. Eventually, I had to take a year off for knee surgery and cut back to only doing tandems on weekends. I finally quit jumping after the local CSPA DZ shut down and I disagreed with a non-CSPA DZO about seat-belts. If you try to learn something new every year, you will never get bored skydiving.

I follow them because I love reading the ramblings of crazy people tying themselves into knots over fantasies that never quite seem to pan out. I'm going to drop some truth on you. There are no adronochrome farms, Ron. No cabal of Democrats eating children. Hillary isn't in Gitmo, there aren't clones or actors running around in her and Obama's and Ruth Bader Ginsberg's place. Trump's clumsy method of sipping a glass of water one time wasn't a secret message to the masses. JFK, Jr. isn't secretly alive and waiting to be revealed. There's no secret military intelligence operation - if there was, why would they be dropping information about their activities on a public forum for all (including their supposed enemies) to see? It's literally the opposite of Operational Security to do so. And why would they have started their messages on a website not owned and operated by the military, but one that was notorious for dark web drug sales and child porn (4chan, then 8chan, now 8kun). The Q drops are basically a small group of people making revenue from a website that generates traffic from the gullible. The more you follow it, the more you realize the stories they are pushing are utterly, entirely, and completely unhinged. Most (sane) Trump supporters don't support Trump because of the Q fantasy, Ron. There are other reasons, but Q isn't it.

Yes Gowlerk, I have had similar dreams many times. They started with pulling my main handle lower than normal, then a really slow opening. I usually impact at line-stretch, stand up, dust myself off and hope that nobody saw my landing.

I've done this using Google Glass and it works well. I'm the developer of BASEline Flight Computer, so it was fairly easy to port the Android app to Google Glass. You can find used Glass on ebay for around $400. As you mentioned, the advantage of a HUD is that you can see horizontal speed, vertical speed, total speed, and glide ratio all at once, and with much faster update than you could ever get with audio. I personally chose to display your speed as a "polar chart". Horizontal and vertical speeds on the axes, total speed equals the hypotenuse, and glide is shown by the slope: To get good data, pair the phone with a bluetooth GPS like the XGPS160. Let me know if I can help with anything. I would love for this to exist! But I don't expect most people to deal with google glass. If interested, the google glass version of BASEline is available on a github branch: https://github.com/platypii/BASElineFlightComputer/tree/glass

Go ahead and mute me. I don't have a lot to say, but I do enjoy reading the posts here. You've posted 7500 times, don't you think that is a bit excessive? You have some great thoughts on the case, but they are being drowned out by all the camping and cat posts, as well as the bickering. People have tuned out, and anyone reading this site that is not logged in will have to sift through all the extra junk. None of us care about the internal arguments. I'm here to read about DB Cooper. My time is limited, so I don't really go to all those other spots you mention. I don't see you gaining anything by bickering.

I had ACL surgery in 1993 I’ve used custom hinged knee braces non-hinged cheap knee sleeves and the pharmacy ace brand hinged braces I really couldn’t tell the difference between the high dollar ones and the cheaper version as long as it stabilizes your knee and you can get it adjusted and tightened up. But I have an intact meniscus my problem is just side loading on my ACL ligament i have on occasion been accused of pulling low . My response. Naw I wasn't low I'm just such a big guy I look closer than I really am .
