2 pointsWe will do nothing so long as so many of our countrymen and women consider whining about the price of gas to be the most important action they can take.

1 pointI was recently hired by the USPA to lead the team that is writing the new version of the Skydiver's Information Manual. I'm an AFF instructor and a TI with 23 years in the sport, but my day job is as a college professor, where I specialize in the translation of complex technical concepts for broad public audiences, so I'm pretty stoked about this project! As part of that effort, we are soliciting feedback from the skydiving community about what should be in the next version of the manual. Is there something in the current SIM that you absolutely love? Or something you completely hate? Is there something missing from the SIM that needs to be there? We have a plan and a draft table of contents, based on our own understanding of what the community needs, but we want to hear from you! Our goal is to create a resource that can help everyone throughout the sport, so tell us what you think! If anyone has specific questions, or has links or materials they wish to share, feel free to email me directly at [email protected] Blue Skies! Tim Miller D-27737

1 pointI'm thinking that we may be approaching the time to position some serious ground forces and air capability in Germany and Poland. Maybe now would also be a good time for our NATO allies to start loading armor on trains. No ultimatums.

1 pointShe was asked to explain it simply then was mocked for explaining it simply. You seriously think there weren’t plenty of people listening who have no idea where Ukraine is? You can’t blame Harris for the fact that so many of your countrymen need global geography explained to them as if the were school kids. She’s not the only one to be speaking in those terms. Peace and security is a step to far, but ultimately this is the first time that an overt war of aggression and conquest by one recognised sovereign nation against another has been waged in Europe since WW2. There is a distinction.

1 pointHow about investing in Aid access instead? https://aidaccess.org/en/page/301373/support-aid-access

1 pointExcept they are not. They are taking those profits and distributing them or buying back stock. At least they have been until this point. I already pointed out the CoconoPhilips acquisition of the Permian Basin and their intention NOT to invest in increased production but increased distribution and stock buy backs.

1 pointJust because the case count is declining and Ukraine has pushed it into the inside pages, it hasn't gone away by any means. 1,684 US COVID19 deaths reported just yesterday, and 19,625 in the past two weeks. Not time to let down your guard.

1 pointI think we're better off saying the "Russians" instead of "Putin". Maybe he is acting all alone here but it would be a mistake to think so. Also, are you certain that a theater nuclear weapon or a neutron bomb would trigger a NATO based nuclear response? Seems to me that slow attrition has less of a chance of triggering such an event than a sudden battlefield reversal with no immediate solution on offer. Awful as it all is I think slow and contained is the best current policy. While we're on the topic, unless all of the 2.5 Million Ukrainians who have fled to Poland are kids, disabled, old or possess some other infirmity that maybe they should be issued war suits and weapons and offered transport to their motherland.

1 pointIt is September 1939 and the free world is tip-toeing around, afraid that if they upset the Nazis, the war might spread beyond Poland.

1 pointSeries of tweets from a PolSci professor explaining the relationship between Putin and the toadies who keep him in power. The situation she describes is not what I thought it was.
