Get a wingsuit

Yep, I still plan on persuing head down. And I've taken my wingsuits head down several times.

Going head down after a flailing/spinning exit and then carving out and using the speed to try and get back to the group does not count ;)

im a student....

and this seems to be the discipline of skydiving im mostly interested in. I enjoy flying my canopy very much, but not into the risk/reward balance of HP landings... or trying to fly a hankerchief for a rig.

RW/CRW/Freeflying all seem cool, but dont really jump out at me.

wingsuits and the ability to slow freefall, track at a high speed, and cover distance all seem *very* cool to me.

so, knowing that I'm at least a year if not 3 away from jumping any kind of wingsuit, what abilities and skills should I focus on to prime myself to be a good/better wingsuit flier later in my jumping career?
Good judgement comes from experience, and most of that comes from bad judgement.

What Brian said. Tracking especially translates to wingsuit flying, freeflying and rw give you a good sense of how to move your body through the air. Flying a wingsuit is pretty easy really, flying it well takes lots of jumps. It is interesting that most of the interest in wingsuits on this forum comes from low-time jumpers who already see what a blast wingsuis are. It's harder to get experienced jumpers involved, most that are interested have already joined the flock.
