stratostar 5 #1 February 9, 2009 I'm interested in making a list of DZ's in the USA who share the same airport with a life flight operation. If your home DZ or DZ you know of, share an airport with life flight please add it to the list. Thanks. 1. Skydive Alabama, Cullman AL. 2. GLIDEANGLE 1 #4 February 9, 2009 Previously Eagle Flight Skydiving in Granbury Texas was at an airport where a medical helicopter was based. That skydiving operation has recently moved to Hillsboro Texas, and is now known as Skydive 35.The choices we make have consequences, for us & for others! stratostar 5 #7 February 9, 2009 Please read the OP and understand that the word "Life Flight" means an air ambulance operation. FYI- Most times it's helicopters. Please keep this thread on topic and add to the list or don't and move on thanks. (I have my reasons for asking for the info, help if you like or not) 1. Skydive Alabama, Cullman AL. 2. voilsb 1 #9 February 9, 2009 QuotePlease read the OP and understand that the word "Life Flight" means an air ambulance operation. Okay, my mistake. Since it didn't specify, I thought "life flight" was a typo for "live flight." I've edited out my original post.Brian

AggieDave 6 #13 February 9, 2009 Eagle Flight is not in Granbury anymore, so I don't know if it still counts. Skydive Aggieland Bryan, TX has PHI which is an air med.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
stratostar 5 #14 February 9, 2009 No, it's a common reason why airport boards/cities/counties try to deny access to general aviation airports. "we have life flight operations and mixing the two would be unsafe" & "Parachuting would cause delay's to the life flight operation" It's a federal funding thing, you wouldn't understand if you have to keep asking, why? USPA couldn't produce a list when asked, so I'm asking jumpers here, knowing there a many locations in the USA that share the same airport with life flight operations without any problem. 1. Skydive Alabama, Cullman AL. 2. Start Skydiving, Lebanon Oh. 3. The Parachute Center, Lodi, CA 4. Kutztown PA. 5. Tennessee Skydiving, Tullahoma TN 6. Oklahoma Skydive Center, Cushing Ok. 7. peregrinerose 0 #15 February 9, 2009 Regarding #4, Kutztown Skydiving Center shared at the previous airport with Life Flight, it was never an issue, we always knew to keep an eye out for them. But KSC is moving to Perkiomen Valley Airport in Collegeville, PA this spring, so I don't know if there is a Life Flight there or not. BillyVance 34 #16 February 9, 2009 And the Cullman, AL airport's Life Flight center has an employee EMT who is also a skydiver, and the two entities get along great."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

jdfreefly 1 #18 February 9, 2009 I think that any record, current or historical, of skydiving and life flight/business jet traffic is a useful data point. The fact is they managed to co-exist. Methane Freefly - got stink?
Scrumpot 1 #19 February 9, 2009 Quote USPA couldn't produce a list when asked... Interesting, especially when you consider that Jim Crouch is an active member (if not also on the "board" of West Point (STP). Anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they've actually got a fairly friendly, if not even symbiotic relationship with the Regional Air Ambulance (Madevac) operation that shares their ramp.
