The guy who started the lawsuit is suspended for fraud and abuse of office allegations. I think that says enough. Funny enough you completely left that our of your commentary. I wonder why that is?

Hi Sky,

I'm thinking it is on Slim if he has never heard of Trump University.

Well, women in our red Southern border states have a new option, thanks to a ruling by the Mexican Supreme Court:

AP: Mexico decriminalizes abortion, extending Latin American trend of widening access to procedure

Mexico= democracy, rule of law and respect for a woman's right to control her body.

Republicans= Theocracy, old, conservative white men holding the cross deciding how everyone else will live. But at least they can still buy AR-15s and have permitless carry.

Funny how women in Italy, Ireland, Spain and Mexico (and many others too) have more rights over their own bodies than women in "The Land of the Free".

Well, not really funny.  Shameful is probably a better word.

yeah, and in light of new Covid vaccines and recommendations coming out, Florida Surgeon General Lapado made some statement yesterday about people having the ultimate control over their own bodies.....

I hope you're not suggesting some hypocrisy here.

"Republicans: The Left wants to impose mask mandates because they want to control your life.

Also Republicans: The government has the right to decide what gender you are, who you can love or marry, which books you can read and what you can or cannot do with your own bodies."

The Bidens has chosen a special guest to attend the State of the Union speech:

Bidens Invite Kate Cox To State Of The Union As Honored Guest

despite any presidential primary discussions about Trump 'winning', the GOP are simply not gaining any votes from this issue and stand to lose many over abortion and women's rights in November.

much the same as trump not gaining any support because he is under indictment.  What support he has might be firming up, but only within the MAGA and right wing.... not the population in general.

But the Democrats are POS's for the simple fact that they had the chance to codify women's rights and bodily autonomy in their first term, and never even brought it up for discussion.  Even if they were not successful, it would have shown everyone where the two parties stand on the issue of women actually being equal in the country.

However, i am not surprised that American does not believe women are equal..... good grief, we elected a black man for president rather that having to stomach electing a woman.

We elected a racist con-man sexual predator rather than having to stomach a woman president (although she won the popular vote by 2 million votes).

We (the American people) elected a woman president in 2016.

But the last institutional relic of slavery installed her opponent instead.

Our constitution is flawed, our system of government is flawed, and most horribly, our system of electing our leaders is flawed. Until Trump showed how easily the so called cornerstone of our democracy, the peaceful transfer of power, could be subverted and thus freed the minority Republican party to show their true colors we've just been perpetuating a pretense with winks and nods. Any idea that the genie can be put back in the bottle anytime soon is just wishful thinking. I think it's as likely as not that in the future America will be known as the place where democracy goes to die.

I think it's as likely as not that in the future America will be known as the place where democracy goes to die.

The Roman government was one of the earliest examples of democracy. Corruption, factional disputes, economic decline eventually led to authoritarian governments. Appointing judges to protect insiders became commonplace.. "The Roman advocate and politician Marcus Tullius Cicero noted three sources for this corruption: personal favoritism, the influence of the powerful, and bribery"

"Cicero's Conclusions Secondly, he outlined four basic principles of natural justice that societies ought to follow: not to attack others physically without reason; to respect both private and common property; to stick to our promises; and to be kind and generous towards others within our means."

The founding fathers of the US constitution used to believe in these ideals also. Then along came MAGA ideals, tumpionian ideals. i.e. that society should protect the elite, enrich the elite, never criticize the elite.

The recent resignation of the GOP Arizona president because of a tape recorded conversation with Kari Lake and his attempt to bribe her. Is a prime example. America had a good run while it lasted. Insiders made untold billions. Trillions were directed from the average person into the pockets of the powerful. Perhaps persuading the upcoming trump government to build a northern border wall is a good idea.

So the TX judge's argument to ban mifepristone is baseless:

Flimsy Antiabortion Studies Cited in Case to Ban Mifepristone Are Retracted

A medical journal has retracted two studies examining the safety of the abortion pill mifepristone after a federal judge in Texas cited them when ruling that the drug should be taken off the market

Since when did science have anything to do with theocracy?
