So in Virginia, republicans are mailing revenge porn to thousands of voters, because someone found an explicit image of democratic candidate Susanna Gibson and her husband on line.

Yep, you read that right.  They are mailing revenge porn to voters attack another candidate.

The family-values party!

ABC News: Ex-North Dakota lawmaker charged with traveling for sex with minor, receiving child sex abuse images

Holmberg served more than 45 years in the North Dakota Senate until his resignation last year, after local media outlet The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead revealed he exchanged dozens of text messages with a person who was jailed on charges related to child sexual abuse images.

Hi Robert,

From your link:  If Holmberg is convicted, his decades serving the public “will be forgotten about, and only the negative things will be remembered,” Wardner said.

Maybe he was expecting a statue in the town square.

Hi folks,

And, Mitch makes the list again:  Mitch McConnell warned Senate Democrats on Tuesday about issuing subpoenas . . . to conservative members of the Supreme Court, calling such a move “totally inappropriate.”

McConnell tells Senate Democrats to back off on Supreme Court | The Hill

Talk about being 2-faced.  This, from the guy who refused to even entertain Obama's nominations.

Mitch needs to be put out to pasture in some of that Kentucky blue grass.

Maybe he was saying "totally inappropriate to not investigate further" but froze mid-statement?

The new US house speaker Johnson is an evangelical christian and as everyone knows they lead politicians in accepting corruption, lies, fraud and general GOP politicking.

So yesterday the house voted where the issue was expelling Santos.

No surprise the vote was to keep him in power. In Washington new banana trees were sprouting everywhere.

A counterpoint I read yesterday: There have been just 2 expulsions over the past century, and both were after conviction.  Scroll down to the table:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expulsion_from_the_United_States_Congress

So to expell him on indictment rather than conviction, would be unusual.

Sadly, I think if the shoe was on the other foot the opposite would not be true

Some animals are more equal than others.

I was reading in our local paper that this was the expected result; the NY GOP delegation is largely in favor of eliminating him — he reflects poorly on them.

There is also that, leaving santos in place probably does more damage to the R's than the D's

But in a house so closely divided that every vote counts, it would be nice to have a rational person in that seat...unless the D's just take advantage of the fact he is purely a grifter, and just buy his vote.

Well, fewer and fewer, thanks to the crazies. Just this week, another one threw up his hands and said "The hell with it":

The Hill: Rep. Ken Buck won’t run for reelection, criticizing GOP’s election denialism

His district is the sparsely populated Eastern plains of CO. I usually disagreed with his policies, but at least he had policies, and didn't blindly lap up the MAGA cult's bullshit.

Virginia Delegate Matt Fariss (R-59th District) has been indicted for trying to run over and kill his girlfriend.

From the police:

Fariss was driving south on Route 501 when he crossed the centerline, continued off the northbound side, and hit a woman before driving away. The woman suffered minor injuries.

Let me guess.  According to him it's a WITCH HUNT!

I'll guess he was thinking it was a W with a B. Look, at least he wasn't tapping toes with anyone in a Truck Stop shitter. And what about Hunters Laptop?

He says he won't seek re-election, but that was his plan all along, since he is expecting the 2024 VP nomination.

I dunno, I’d say he’s at least as qualified as The Donald for the Oval Office.

Then again, so’s my dog.
