Brilliant idea to stop unneccesary abortion clinic regulations

Recommended Posts

Everyone's birth control has a different cost. I have a copper IUD, it was placed by a gyn physician for my office visit copay of 35$. My copay includes office surgery like IUD placement, mole removal, and foreign body removal/stitching. So for 35$ I received 10-12+ years of effective birth control.
Wal mart and Target have 9 and 12 dollar generic BC pills for women that use that particular brand.

Unfortunately, patches, Nuva ring, and certain name brands are FAR more than 9$ a month.

******Cost is an aspect of access.

Would you say you have unfettered access to Lamborghinis?

If it cost less than $300 per year?

Yes

$300 a year? Where do you buy your birth control? Mine was $80/month before the ACA.

Viagra is $25-$50 a pill and employers aren't forced to help cover the cost...It's a war on men!

Yep. But historically, hoping that that method works in a population a very bad idea if your goal is to reduce abortions.

But, I'm not anymore. I have changed sides. I hope people have as many abortions as they can possibly afford. I'll just not be paying for them.

Abstinence is free, BUT NOT FUN :P

Sorry, I am a hotblooded 32 year old female, and like many, I want to get laid. Yes, I would like to get laid sometimes without worrying that I must become a parent every time I get off.

Viagra is covered under insurance policies as a normal RX benefit. The problem is that contraception was not always covered as a normal benefit, however, most insurance policies did cover it.

I believe that BC is such a big deal because government assistance pays a lot of money in prenatal care, WIC, and food stamps for these women.

Some insurance policies cover Viagara, some don't. Some cover it with restrictions. There are different co-payments and limitations under different plans. Just like birth control before it was mandated to be covered.

Sorry, I'm a 44 yo hotblooded male, and like many I like expensive sports cars. Yes, I would love to drive a Jaguar F-TYPE V8 S without worrying that I would be in debt, but I live within my means and use this thing called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.:o

But I am sure that you will next say that people shouldn't be made to use that little thing.:)

Good deal. (Of course even if you drive a clunker you'll need insurance that covers the basics - even if you promise to never get in an accident, and even if you have no intention of ever needing it.)

Because we all know that thousands of years of human physiology can just be turned off.

How's that teen pregnancy rate doing in all of those "abstinence education only" states?

Technicaly, sex is considered a BASIC need under Malsow's Hierarchy of needs, right there with food, water, living space, and excretion. I can tell you that if I do not have my basic needs met, I can become very twitchy.
My thoughts are simple, it saves the government money to provide BC and contraception. They pay for prenatal care, which is a whole helluva lot more expensive than prevention.

Now... We could debate that government should not pay for prenatal care, but most pro life people support paying for prenatal care because it prevents that abortion. So, if you, and I mean general you, are okay with government paying for prenatal care, then BC should be a no brainer.

God's plan for my life involves depriving me of water, food, shelter, and safety? That doesn't sound like much fun.

So what you are saying is that because the government is paying for it, the value of people is based upon fiscal considerations. Due to the large amount of money government pays, the government has a legitimate interest in influencing the private and personal decisions of sexually active people.

I remember when the lefties wanted government to stay out of our bedrooms. Now that the government is inextricably intertwined in our personal health that, yes, the government should have some say in those decisions.

Because the government wants to save money. [Facepalm]

No one is forcing anyone to make any bedroom decisions regarding contraception. The idea is if people want to be responsible and use birth control, the government has an interest in making that option more accessible. We're not talking about forced sterilization, here.

Can you explain how the government providing subsidies to people who want to use birth control is giving the government a say in that decision?

I'm certain you understand the concept of Maslow's hierarchy, I'm not sure how this conflicts with religion and then leads you straight to hell.

There is that English bible again... cause Jesus was a white dude..bias. ( hey I saw it on FAUX News)

I would think the Aramaic version would be a tad more "accurate" since that is what middle eastern reality Jesus spoke and taught in.

that's not what was said - don't mince words (I'd also accept 'don't mints words', but for different reasons)

'accessible' <> 'taxpayers pay for everybody'

I like the idea of a market that provides the need. It certainly should be 'accessible' to the private market.

It's actually what I am reading. The message being received. Communication involves not just what was said but what was understood. And the underlying tone was that "government is paying for it and birth control is cheaper than prenatal care."

Why did you write "forcing?" I used the term "influencing."

[Quote]The idea is if people want to be responsible and use birth control, the government has an interest in making that option more accessible. We're not talking about forced sterilization, here.

No. But we are talkinng about government policies that involve personal lives. And many justify it on the basis of cost. I'm asking whether the justification is lost when government financing comes out of it.

Yes. Formulary is one. A second is that it's getting me involved. I have no problem with birth control. I am in favor of keeping the gvernment out of it - period. Once anybody starts paying for something they become involved. It becomes a justification for intrusion. When the government is telling private entities what they must pay for others to receive (recall that people objected to Hobby Lobby NOT providing these things) then we are running into entanglement of government and private interests.

Maslow's path leads to self actualization. The path of the Christian disciple is to seek Christ actualized.

Both approaches take a lifetime. The end benefits are Christ's paradise or eternal loss.

So why move into the Georgia mountains to avoid SHTF on the mortal earth? Why should you care? God will provide.

This is where God lead me. I believe it is because SHTF is coming to America. I trust Him.
