CHRISTIAN APOLOGETICS

That's not true in this case, but yes I do tend be ambiguous at times, primarily to see how various people preceive certain ideas...sometimes those preceptions catch me by suprise.

As far as this forum is concerned I am ambivalent.

But when looked at logically there is no logical support for the religious side of the argument. If there were then there would be no need for faith. If you can look at the whole picture dispassionately and use proper logic and critical thinking you would see this to be true.

Why do you say "...you would see this to be true." I have not expressed a preference either way. I do like the field of physics, tho.

With out faith religion is not believable.

Faith is belief with out evidence.

Cannot really argue with that...

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Why do you feel the need to make up your own definition for words?

faith   /feɪθ/ Show Spelled[feyth] Show IPA
noun
1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability.
2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact.
3. belief in God or in the doctrines or teachings of religion: the firm faith of the Pilgrims.
4. belief in anything, as a code of ethics, standards of merit, etc.: to be of the same faith with someone concerning honesty.
5. a system of religious belief: the Christian faith; the Jewish faith.

Re-reading all of this post, it occurs that the anti-religion-ers are so demanding of proof,

In a thread started with the declared intention of providing evidence proving beyond reasonable doubt that god exists? How very unreasonable of us to ask what it is!

one might draw the conclusion that the strident calls for proof may define the fear of "What if I'm wrong".

One could, but one would be wrong.

You didn't really agree with me. You instead came up with your own definition of faith

See, that's your problem with comprehension...I never gave my own definition.

Redefining words is what I find most annoying.

Tough titties...the faithful have confidence and assurance in their beliefs, neither you nor the all mighty dictionary is gonna change that.

Btw, what dictionary did Paul use when giving his definition of faith...as if he needed one.

Please go away... 2nd request..

Newsflash, this is not your home, you do not get to control who comes here.

You might even follow your own advice (It's a stretch, I know) - if you don't like the discussion, just fuck off. Problem solved.

I am pretty sure he didn't speak english.

So what?

The translators used the word faith and it's definition hasn't been in dispute.

Until now...I'll leave it up to the faithful to decide how they'll define their faith. Something tells me they'll stick to the biblical definition...not that there is anything wrong with yours.

It's really not a big deal, not sure why you're all wadded up.
