US Seneators 'invite' Scotish politicians to hearing...

Recommended Posts

Agreed.

Scotish or any British MP are not accountable to the US Senate.

For the record, I did not agree to Megrahi’s release , i think it was the wrong decision.

I believe a US Senate sub-commitee can subpoena non-citizens should the need arise. I don't know what they would do if the non-citizen still 'declines'.

Well, the Scots should consider that if they rudely decline to come, they might never get another invitation.[:/]

I think that they politely declined the invitation.

T o be honest , is this about the release of al-Megrahi or is it purely just to smear BP.

My personal opinion is that BP doesn't have enough influence to request the release of al-Megrahi for oil contracts.

WTF .. tell them to fuck off.

Exactly. On behalf of the clowns "representing" me in Congress, I would like to apologize to the people of the United Kingdom.
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh

When the Scottish leadership released the terrorist responsible for killing all our citizens in the Lockerbie bombing, they effectively told all of America to "fuck off".

Scotland can now kiss my ass. And I used to like 'em...

You shouldn't let your anger at a bad political decision by Scottish MP's cloud your judgment of the rest of Scotland or the people.

We certainly don't blame the whole of America for funding the IRA for years.

I would say how much influence would depend on how much BP stock certain people own.

Given the huge pensioner investments in BP stock, that answer is: a lot of British and American people own BP stock. Broken down, I read somewhere it could mean 1 out of every 6 British, and 1 out of every 7 Americans.

ayeee, I'm sure they'll be acryin' in their malt.

As we said, the descision (by a few politicians) may well have been wrong but another set of alien politicians has zero right to expect them to kowtow and go cap in hand over the pond to answer any of their daft questions.

I have no problem with Megrahi's release - conditional upon receipt of the services of a taxidermist first.

I think you owe that terrorist an apology for how poorly he's been maligned by the current US government.

it is amazing that the US government has resorted to what amounts to schoolboy type grand standing. It is pretty freaking transparent that they are out "to get" BP.

Tell them to f*ck off.

Now you can go try to convince mainland China that Taiwan hasn't been part of China for 60 years.[:/]
