NASA announces "lots of water" found on Moon

Carl Sagan would be thrilled. Now the water is filled with Earth born microbes too due to our insatiable love for blowing things up!!!!!

I'm nearly certain if there is one crater with water, then there are others that haven't yet been contaminated.

What that means is that we now have a source of hydrogen, which is one of the biggies for living/working there. We had the oxygen already. The next two big problems are going to be nitrogen and carbon, both essential for any long-term habitation of the moon.

I figured since it falls under science it should be here. It could possibly go into the realm of arguing about space, science, where our money should go, etc. Dig?

I don't see anything controversial about "water on the moon" to warrant putting it in Speaker's Corner. But what the heck, since it's here, let's make it controversial.

Should the moon be declared a gun-free zone?

How would everyone feel if the first colony of the moon decided to secede from whatever multi national, nato backed, hippy, treehugger, socialist, gun hating earth alliance of the future and then declare war on earth over the rights to planet Tanis; a life sustaining planet some 124 billion light years away?

On the flip side, there are no homosexuals.

I did hear though that the place is controlled by Al Gore; up there, it's all solar.

It has to be all Solar, He has to offset all the green house gasses created by his jet getting to and from the moon. Do you know how many carbon credits he spends on every trip?

And YET is the word of that sentence. Just give NASA a chance and they will contaminate the whole moon surface, look at the other junk we left on the surface back in first moon missions.
America can sure fuck a place up in the name of science, peace or whate ever else!

If it hadn't been for England, Spain and France contaminating North America with their settlers, America never would have grown up to surpass those nations and get to the moon first.

Well, we did have to import some Germans after WW2 to make it happen.:)

Planetary protection is something COSPAR takes seriously and NASA/JPL are continuously improving upon. The fact of the matter is that there is little or no hope of finding life on the moon.
