Grrr. ASC Spam.

Recommended Posts

OK - Who jumps at the Atlanta Skydiving Center? This just showed up in my email:

Quote

Atlanta Skydiving Center is hosting a STRONG tandem certification course in
Cedartown Georgia.
FREE Lodging is available.

The course begins July 30th 2002 at ASC.

Call the drop zone for details at 770-684-3483.

I have never been to the Atlanta Skydiving Center, I've never jumped in the state of Georgia. I have never been to their website, I've never asked them to send me anything, ever. At least Yahoo! automatically filtered this into the 'Bulk' folder.

I got it via hotmail. CLAY!

I don't give my hotmail account out to anyone, cause I never use it. The only way they would've got it is if they had some 'bot' scaning webpages for email addresses, which is a pretty common practice AMONG PORN SITES...

The 'bot probably picked up your hotmail account off your profile, just as it did for me.

The MX record for skydivecenter.com points to inbound.registeredsite.com.

A quick search of news.admin.net-abuse.sightings tells us that this is nothing more than a spam company.

Why am I not surprised?

Fuckers.

Oh you're missing out. I get offers to lower my mortgage, Nigerians who want me to help them launder millions of dollars, chances to buy everything from cell phones and satellite tv systems to email address listings and, my personal favorite, requests for assistance in locating time travel devices (two of those so far!).

I could forward them to you if you'd like... :D

I have jumped, even competed at ASC and have not recieved any of this spam. I regularly get flyers from dropzones I have never been to, so I don't see their promo as any different. I would gladly trade all my porn and refinancing spam for more skydiving-related stuff.

I got it too, well that and the Casa boogie. I assumed I had gotten it because I thought I had gone to the site at one point and signed up for the contest for a free jump...

I am the smartest man in the whole world, (i think) am always getting all kinds of diplomas from different universities. And the best good looking man in the whole planet, cause I get a lot of emails from girls asking me if I wanna cum or see her naked pictures. Did I mention that am also the luckiest man alive? I always get free cell phones, free lotto tickets and free radios. And lucky me I don't get those skydiving related SPAM.

Wanna trade your skydiving SPAM with my everything else SPAM? :)

Asking a spammer to stop spamming you is usally the worst thing to do. WEll, that and clicking on the little "remove me from your mailing list" button... BAB mistake, unless you really wanted to tell the spammer that you are in fact a live person who looks at their BS.

I also got spammed and a virus from them. (yes my virus software is a little outdated at home). I called them and asked them to remove me from their list and they denied they ever send out e-mails like that. Then I had my husband call, he talked to someone else and was told they don't send e-mails.

Hum...
