funks 1 #1 May 27, 2005 Every Memorial Day weekend the news reports how less people are traveling due to rising gas prices. How freakin idiotic are these people??? I for one could not imagine saying to myself "Well, guess I cant go to the beach this week because it is going to cost to much to fill up the car" Is it possible to get any cheaper than that??? Do these people actually exist?? Are you one of "those" people?

masterrig 1 #4 May 27, 2005 Hell yeah, they exist. If, I want to go somewhere, I grit my teeth, shut my eyes and swipe the old 'plastic' in the gas pump and worry about it later. It's all just a big plan to make gasoline and oil producers richer and keep the little guy 'down'! We've got the oil to make the fuel. The 'fat cats' who control the oil and fuel prices create shortages to keep their deep pockets full. Sorry, I thought this was SC. Chuck

SpeedRacer 1 #12 May 27, 2005 well, rising gas prices have not done much to stop America's appetite for bigger & bigger SUVs and even HUMVees. For some reason people have started to want to drive their entire living rooms around (SUVs now even have TV screens), even if its just routine trips to work or the supermarket. So I don't see how a weekend trip is going to make much difference. Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------

I also work in the oil industry and can forsee no changes in the current patern for along while. So knowing what I know about the industry. I decided to get used to driving a rollerskate again. As for being cheap. I think I'm more frugal. I'm willing to spend a lot of cash on something I feel is worth it. As for gas prices? Everyone better get used to it. You probably won't see them go below $1.50 ever again.
