1. I just dont understand the logic here ? I mean why not the main bedroom. Because he didn't want his inlaws staying at his house...
2. No one ever does. Is this just a general comment about things in hindsight or do you have specific feedback? I don't disagree with what you are saying.
3. I'm not terribly familar with other containers. I own a Jav. I have a skytie. The elastic hasn't deformed the reserve flap. Additionally it goes around the outer flap. There is another under the reserve pin. I'm not saying the potential doesn't exist. But I don't see the mechanism by which it would become a problem. After the pin is pulled or the loop is cut the interior top flap above the pilot chute will push up, flat against the flap that the skytie is secured to. The rpc (or anything else for that matter) has nothing it can snag on.
4. ------------------------------ Like to add, we WILL resume training in Houston shortly. Probably stand the program back up within the next three months. So, if you are in Houston or will be passing through and have a valid FAA Class III medical or better, you can go through the training. Cheers..... Buck Please post when its up and running again.
5. Requirement for a 64bit browser for the Java 7 plugin to work correctly and shitty camera firmware aren't really the same thing. If you still have the Java browser plugin enabled I'd HIGHLY reccomend you disable it anyways. You are basically running backwards through a corn field with a bare ass. Why are you making excuses for piss-poor customer service? They put out a product with defective firmware, and their web site won't run on one of the world's most popular web browsers. INCOMPETENT! 1. I'm not making excuses. I really wish the camera worked better. I wish they did better testing prior to releasing product. 2. I'm saying you are conflating two issues which aren't terribly related. 3. I was trying to give you a heads up. The track record of Java and HIGHLY exploitable vulnerabilities is nontrivial. You'd be better off disabling the browser plugin or removing it entirely from your computer if you don't need it for local applications. 4. Thank (insert your FSM of choice here) I have not and will never do product development work on anything remotely in the general consumer market. 5. The browsers and OS supported by the tool cover the vast majority of users. I hit the same issue as you and went the manual route. I still have IE installed and could have used that. Is this sufficiently clear for you? You want to vent? Tell GoPro. I don't work for them in any capacity. I don't sell their products.

7. I've had fairly good luck with mine over the last month or two. I use it only for video and haven't played with the stills functions yet. I'd def reccomend picking up some spare batteries. You can find a two pack with a charger for 10$ less than a battery backpack will run you.
8. Did an employee of the dropzone throw you out of the aircraft? If yes, be angry. If no, you chose poorly.
9. When I go to that site it won't run on Chrome, and kills Firefox and IE completely. So do the manual update option. It's pretty simple and they even have pictures.
10. And that, to devout Muslims, is offensive. Many muslims believe that Allah has decreed that Muslims declare war on infidels. You have to step outside your cosy Western perspective to understand that others may be offended by things that do not offend you. I personally am not offended by the words "nigger" or "cunt" but I fully accept that many people are and I temper my use of them to allow for this, regardless of my right to freedom of speech. If these muslims were to enter Finland they would have to respect the fact that the majority of us are these infidels and by our constitution we have the right to express our infidelity. (just as much as the muslims have their right to express their islamic beliefes) Like I said, im not an expert on US law, but I would be suprised if you didnt respect this human right. You are free to say whatever you'd like with a few, quite specific, well documented caveats. You are always free to deal with the repercussions of whatever you say. I wasn't there. I don't know what the real story is. I'll say that this guy comes off like a cunt. However it's entirely possibly that the DZ also mishandled the situation. This is hilariously being blown out of proportion.
11. I got my coach rating in November last year. Honestly there is a lot about the rating that should be updated. This is just one of them.
12. Not sure on the other models. GoPro stated they would make it user selectable on the Black at least.
13. I'll be out that way in a month or so. Will take a look.
14. If you are out of control/unconcious your fallrate would be signigicantly higher (than "normal" flight) I do not recall ever hearing about a Wing Suit flyer going in because of an AAD not firing, but I see posts expressing concern that with a current AAD, a flyer could fly to the ground and the AAD would never fire. I find it hard to imagine that, given the slow vertical speed, a flyer would not notice they are low, but again, I am not a flyer. This is a prefect example of the difference between a need and a desire. If the only concern is a loss of consciousness, then the current AADs will do the trick, no need to put the effort into a new unit. Is the only concern loss of consciousness? For me? Yes. I guess additionally I'm concerned about being physically unable to deploy either my main or reserve for some reason. But if I can't pull the PC or the ripcord handle then I'm probably not capable of flying the suit anymore either.

16. Can you elaborate on that last sentence? I am not sure if there's a typo in there or what, but it makes no sense to me as written. A while ago I read something along the lines of "after pulling my cut away the RSL pulled my reserve pin before I pulled my reserve handle but next time I have a malfunction I'm going to pull my reserve handle sooner to beat my RSL". They didn't understand why this was a bad idea (in most cases) ... Your concern being that someone would be overzealous and release the reserve before fully cutting away?
17. Jarno, have any fly sight data you can share?
18. Only a fool would answer No. Never say never. Having said that, let me say that I have not encountered one yet. The Mk 2000 pusher worked well and had no reports of failures of this nature. I would not have suspected the cutters would do what they did. My crystal ball has fogged. Thus the reason for conceptual thinking. I'm a big fan of cutter on the bottom for the reasons already covered. My 05 Jav is setup that way, and honestly wish it had stayed there. Interested to hear what the PIA study digs up WRT differences in activation speed (if any) between the two locations.
19. Additionally, The Racer Tandem is not prone to the "Side Spin" problem due to the drogue suspension system. Every video of a tandem side spin, (the donut of death), is pre-drogue deployment. I have seen videos of the TM dumping the drogue while in the beginning of a side spin in an effort to stabilize, and it is never a clean deployment. Perhaps we are talking about two different things, but the videos I have seen of the tandem side spins that went in never had the drogue out, nor did they have an AAD. No! It is far more complicated than that. First let me say that I know exactly to whom I am chatting with, and I mean no disrespect with my approach to my thinking, to the contrary, you are one of the few who can possibly provides some incite. Now that being said; Can you elaborate a little more on that. Again, this is just my understanding, but as such, it is that the TSO tests are to validate that a container / harness system (regardless of its design), functions with in standardized specs. The design of the container can be what ever as long as it passes the tests, and it is the configuration of the rig that is awarded the TSO, so as a result, several different size container and canopy combinations can be produced under the umbrella of the original TSO. Now I may be totally wet, but that is my understanding. Now, continuing on that train of thought, given that the concern is if an AAD will affect the ability of the reserve to operate properly (will the cutter affect the pack opening), I am thinking, why not pick the best AAD, (as odds are the end user will be putting one in) and put the rig through the TSO tests and see if it still passes. If it does, then the combination of the rig and AAD would be harmonious with the TSO. Now, just thinking out loud, is it the situation where the reserve its self is TSOed, the container design using the TSOed reserve is TSOed, and it is that the AAD its self is not TSOed that is the concern, rather than will it interfere with the operation with the container? I would think that if the US required AADs, then to get a TSO, a rig would have to be tested with an AAD packed in it, no? I get that a rig manufacturer does not want to be liable for a cutter locking a rig shut, nor does an AAD manufacture want to be liable for a container / canopy combination that is built under the umbrella of a TSO, when the actual rig would not pass the same TSO if its life depended on it. My approach with my cutter is to try to work with the container manufacturers in an effort to produce a cutter that the manufacturers are comfortable with. I am also good with the thinking that AADs need to meet a standard of some kind. PIA TS-112 provides a guideline for testing. I don't know what the impact is on TSO. Looking forward to John explaining it.
20. This could be a stupid question. Are some or all of the sessions recorded? Are the videos (if they exist) made public?
21. Non-mobile site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhFb4IMk9EY
22. Nonsense. If that were true it wouldn't be available outside of the Factory Team. And I just ordered two 55's yesterday so we know that isn't true. Jebus.
23. If you chop the main in a two out (which is the only one you CAN chop on most rigs), you'll be under the reserve (obviously). Most reserves fly very much like CRW canopies and should have short recovery arcs. I doubt short enough to chop that low and not hit damn close to belly to earth. Which was really all I was getting at. Yes, reserves aren't trimmed as steep as a main. No, they aren't trimmed as flat as a CRW canopy. Happy?
