Yeah something like that happened in Seattle a bunch of years ago. (facts could be a little off but you'll get the idea, plus its all pretty much hearsay but it makes for a good story) They wanted to demonstrate the thrust from a 747 so they put it on the end of the runway in Renton and placed a pickup truck behind it. When the plane powered up it shot the truck off the tarmac and into the water. (not a small feat) Damn I wish I had a video of that!!! J YSD#0009

WHOA!! You ladies are actually going to build that? SWEET!!! That looks awsome!! Have a good time and good luck. J YSD#0009

Ok this is similar to what I have done. But what, if anything, do you tell the other jumper when they think it's you? Personally, I just want to make the jumps go well and learn as much as possible. I'm also very open to criticism if it's warranted. However, I don't have as many jumps as some of these people and I don't know how to broach the subject. Any advice? J YSD#0009

If you are the one sliding all over the place or it is the other person in a 2-way. (I apologize for the length) Here's my problem. I'm a low time jumper and am really trying to build my RW skills. I am trying to get out and participate in as many 2-ways as I can and I have mainly been flying with other low time jumpers. What has been happening is that once we separate from the exit and try and turn points one of us (or both) started to side slip all over the place. When we got down he thought it was me and I thought it was him (more likely both). So we tried to get one person to fall straight down the tube. We tried this with the other jumper maintaining a heading first but it didn't work too well. The sideslip orbiting thing agian. Then I tried to fall straight down the tube and this worked great. I'm not exactly sure who was doing what but I kept trying to pick a heading (relative to a landmark or a road) and just stay there. When I thought I was doing this great the other jumper kept orbiting around me. (again on the ground both thought it was the other person) Aside from video does anyone have any suggestions how to figure out if it's me boggling up the whole jump or how I can fix it? J YSD#0009

Woooooo HOOOOO!!!! Yesterday I got a tour of the coolest jump plane (IMHO) in the world, the C-17!!! Whoa baby that thing is huge. I got in and was sitting in the cargo bay while the guide was talking about the lighting and all I could think about was how many jumpers you could put in there or how fun it would be to run from the front to back and dive out!!! Oh yeah and some people wouldn't even need to sit on the floor. The have these integral seets that fold down from the side of the interior. PLUS, they are built especially for airborne drops. The seets extend away from the wall so that your legs aren't wasted by having the bar in the middle of your thighs! They even have an integral rest to place your rig on when you are sitting there so that the weight is off of your shoulders. MAN that plane rocks!!! J YSD#0009

A Canadian Senate committee has proposed that Canada legalize marijuana

Now that is ironic. LOL J YSD#0009 -
Go with the WRX. They have pretty good ground clearance. (not as much as aggiedave's truck but enough to battle any snow demons you might encounter on the way to the hill) and the boxer engine that they run is sweet. It's totally reliable and has a super long life span. Plus, how can you beat a reasonably priced production car that blows the tires off of some of the higher priced sports cars out there. J YDD#0009

Actually, and I hate to be the up-tight one here, that's not entirely true. Back in the 1960's there were many Supreme Court cases dealing with this exact event. (read: burning crosses)The court ruled that not only is it tresspassing but it is also an infringement upon an individual's first amendment right to freedom of religion. Sorry I don't know the exact case off the top of my head. But I could look it up if you really wanted to know. J YSD #0009***

Yep, Skreamer pretty much hit it on the nose. I've jumped a diablo a couple of times but with my experience level I'm not ready for all of the nasties that an eliptical can dish out. Plus, I'd rather learn to radically fly a docile canopy first and swoop the *&%# out of it, (not that I'm going to anytime soon ) and then move to an eliptical. J

No it's not that at all. I feel I'm totally safe and all I just don't feel I can jump on a bunch of loads I would like to. Yeah, that's probably do to my inexperience but for me personally I don't think that I'd call myself a "skydiver" until I have a bunch more experience. Do I skydive? Hell Yeah! Do I have a blast doing it? Absolutely! Do I like doing 2-4ways? Every chance I get!! Am I totally comfortable with my ablities? Actually no I'm not. Am I a meatbomb falling out of control? Depends on what kind of formation I'm looking to take out! It's just a personal thing. J

For me personally, I don't think I will consider myself to be a "skydiver" until I am totally comfortable being in the air with other people. Just my $.02 J J YSD#0009
